Past:
Mori lived a peaceful life growing up. Her mother had divorced and remarried twice before she was even 10. Her stepfather when she was 10 was a religious hypocrite, praying and preaching about God during the day and abusing his stepdaughter at night when her mother wasn't around. After nearly a year of this, her mother discovered what he had been doing and took Mori and moved far away. Mori went through being the new kid at school five times as they moved from place to place. She learned to not get attached to things and to not trust anyone. 'Don't let them in and they can't hurt you.' Mori grew up lonely, content with such because she knew no different.
Mori had discovered her bending abilities at about age 12. She kept it secret, afraid to be different. She tried supressing it at first, but as her emotions were in turmoil, so was her control. When she was 18, she saw the man who had abused her and couldn't contain her abilities. When his body was discovered under an "unexplained rockslide", she was already long gone, having literally fled underground. Now at age 23, she finds herself in Clearcrest, where she hopes to remain undetected.
