 Current Event: Hyrule FairAs the sun climbs higher into the Topaz sky those who were enjoying the festival would see a procession which looked a lot like a millipede turned upside down, railing at the sun while others cheered on the coming of the real celebration. For everyone's enjoyment there was a full carnival on the sands of the blistering Gerudo Desert under the finest and largest silk tent money could buy. The whole thing was an a triumph, but it was just a set up, an ingredient in something much larger. "Fine day for it, eh James?" The commander said nothing for a longer time than he was allotted. "... Sir?" "It's always a fine day for 'it,' Gris. We just have to remember how little we're actually doing here." "... I guess so, but why all this?" Asked Gris gesturing to the carnival up ahead. "They need to feel this is more; something they can say concerns all of them. Good God, man, could you imagine if no one in the realm remembered the throne's glory? Pandemonium." The horses with them were adorned according to ranking and drove on in waves with different colors outlining and highlighting higher tiers of soldiers and bloodlines toward the center--the absolute center of the procession of course being the Royals, some of whom had prior ties or were just told plainly not to come--and back out again into the sound created by shimmering air and salty sand; and of course it was patterned like the old Crest. "Get to the edges." All Commander James had to say was this to send a very well hidden troop out of the foot-fleet. The partygoers would soon see troops at each of the eight corners of the giant tent, shinning like hope in the sun they were safe from. Soon enough after that the entire procession would parade right in front of the carnival for all to see. As the middle approached the parade was already wrapped around the tent, making it look like a giant jewel in the desert which had had its metal poured around for a perfect set. There was a troop of high guards each with a spear decorated with a feather considered to be sacred for reasons deeper than that--though no one could remember what they were--and a few Sheikah with large fans which completely blocked her from view and gave her away at the same time.

No event being held in her homelands would go unnoticed by the treasure hunter. She of course made her way here way he in a timely fashion by hitching a ride on cart that was going that way. The horse pulling it was certainly strange to look at; even the petite owner came off as a bit strange. Yet, she didn't seem to notice her stowing away on her cart, or maybe she did. Either way, Vanya got a free ride to her destination: The Desert Colossus. Wait, what?! Why here? Had the people of Hyrule finally seen the light? Had they come to worship the Desert Goddess? The Gerudo woman scoffed at the idea, not believing that to be the case. Regardless, once the cart came to a stop, she got off the back and allowed her feet to touch ground once more. She made her way to the side, looking around to see all the bustling people and feeling a bit nervous. It had been ages since she was last here and it certainly wasn't this...busy. Not knowing what this festival was about, she could only rely on her imagination to fill in the blanks.
Perhaps it was a festival and nothing more. Yeah... Vanya shook her head and decided to poke around for more information. The woman looked up to the tiny shopkeep who took a perch up top, likely to get a better view of the Royals. "Excuse me. Miss Shopkeeper?" she called out to her, tapping the side of her "establishment" to get her attention. "I don't suppose you know what this festival is all about, do you?"

Well, that wasn't the kind of response Vanya was expecting. The girl was writing in middle air with her finger and before she could read it, it was read aloud by a disembodied voice. It was interesting magic that she was not familiar with. Strange magic for a strange girl. Her method of communication aside, she was left with no answer to what this gathering was about. This would have upset her and cause her to be more concerned...had she not been distracted, that is. A compliment on her looks? Vanya smirked, flicking her hair over her shoulder. "Why, thank you. Most Gerudo are, though I can't say I don't love the compliment. You know...you're pretty cute yourself" This little lady was alright in her book so she figured she'd leave her wares alone. Besides, there were plenty of other meal tickets to pilfer off of; it was a busy crowd after all. "The names Vanya by the way. Though our time was short, I appreciate the ride. Oh! Do you mind?" she asked her, unclear on just what she meant. Without warning, she had leaped on top of the cart, only causing it to shake slightly with her landing. The woman would then cup her hands over her eyes, to shield them from the sun while she looked around the crowd. For now, she'd steer clear of the Royals and focus on the distracted and bustling crowd. From this advantage, she could see a couple other thieves already hard at work. The competition looked fierce...

々▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬々 々The Desert, Zido absolutely hated it as he found this place easy to sell slaves off to and nothing but bandits and thieves lived here...Such was not a place for a member of the Royal Guard. However here he was, at some festival that was about the opening of the Twilight Realm which was once ruled by a King who had endangered Hyrule and once held the greatest evil of all: Ganondorf. Yet with this knowledge the two worlds were going to be open to one another once again? Zido thought it was foolish...That it would only bring about destruction, however he was merely a guard of the Royal Family and nothing more. He would silently patrol the grounds of the Coliseum, making sure that no one was having any bad ideas about ruining a single part of the Festival, however one woman in particular had caught his eye. It was a Gerudo, known for their thievery and being the home race of Ganondorf...Should she try something, Zido would behead her himself. However for now he would keep the occasional eye on her just to be safe, she was Gerudo after all.

Meanwhile the Hylian officials...
Were busy walking the isles and pointing the partygoers who looked lost in the right direction and shooing off a thief here or there trying to take advantage of the situation. Just because there were a lot of people gathered didn't mean the Hylian military didn't have complete control over this area. It was evident in the way the troops and their procession swallowed the sizable crowd whole. If not for the celebration this would look like a full-scale invasion; the feathers on the soldiers' spears made them no less brutal.
Commander James, after having a word with the Royals, came to match strides with Zido, who was leading his troop well as always.
"Disgusting, aren't they? Don't worry, this life is Hell enough for them." He kept walking, nodding to a few carnival goes. "But please, promise me you won't stare so hard at them? It ruins your otherwise perfect poise." He gave the Royal Guard a smile more genuine than he'd give the other men: a friend's smile. "I look forward to your report. Carry on!" And like that he vanished back into his business.

 ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════And then there was the Hero. The gift of Her Grace and at once the saving grace of the realm forever and ever amen! Link really didn't know what to do. He'd be saddled with more fancy things to wear than he cared for, all of which made him feel having too much fun with the people whom he was invited to have fun with ever more wrong, so he ended up walking around absently, looking at all the fun there for him. There were potions shops, some guaranteeing happiness, a dunk tank with a Zora, kissing booths, an arm wrestling area involving mostly Gorons, a bearded lady or two, and of course a fortune teller.
She grabbed Link his arms and shook the stupid out of him. "You're the one! You have the greatest destiny of all! Come, sit, I show you." Link was speechless. The seats were terribly uncomfortable, but he wouldn't be rude.
"AY... Lliw... Gnihtemos--YUB!!" Her crystal ball shone like a mirage as she denied the universe its right to secrets. One might have spotted the little helper with a flashlight in the opposite tent if it weren't for the teller's spectacular show.
"I see it now... Yours is a great adventure. You are afraid to act... You are... Uncomfortable." Link nodded emphatically, looking at his stuffy outfit. "You are bound to be with many people, but you seem to be too different, exceptional maybe, to fit in. You have a strong connection to the forces of love..." She left it at that while it was still vague enough to be called a fortune.

But that wasn't the only fierce looking thing out there. As she looked around, her eyes came to the guard who was glaring in her direction. Was he actually looking at her from so far away? She removed her hands from her eyes, looking at the soldier who hid his face behind a helmet. Vanya simply looked looked at him with a straight face before smiling and blowing him a kiss. "Well Lilian, I believe this is where we part ways. I'll see you around...maybe" she winked at her. The woman then hopped off the cart and headed into the crowd. Oh there were so many victims for her to choose from but she would refrain for now until she certain her presence was nonexistent. For now she waded through the people, listening to their whispers and murmurs. She heard something about Twilight but couldn't make heads or tails of it. If the Royals "fair" desecrated this temple, the Goddess would surely punish them. Of course, she wouldn't just stand by either.

~Sheikan Seer, Lord Yamrhya~ ~Court Assassin~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Gerudo desert was so full of life. Life of happiness and not war for once. So many people gathered for an extremely glamorous festival. What is this festival for? Most do not know, ones of the royal family and kinship would know of course. Standing atop of an old abandoned Gerudo building stood a small man. Dressed in robes of silk and glamour. Behind him stood what looked like sheikan warriors. The one standing before them, was the sheikan seer employed by the king as the court assassin and mystic adviser, Yamrhya. Yamrhya wielded an open fan, gently pulsating small hints of wind on his face. "I hate the heat" The sheikan seer grumbled as he and his small troop kept a close eye on all activity of the festival. Swiftly snapping his fan shut, his troop all seemed to have vanished in quick flashes of light. In what seemed like a blink of the eye, Yamrhya was now standing right beside the princess. Who just so happened to be covered by two sheika women and their massive fans. "M'lday....things will be starting soon" Yamrhya said as he kneeling by her side. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Bow before the Sheika power!" Location: Gerudo Desert/Festival Mood: Annoyed/Calm Company: Princess/Guards
Hortensia the Younger |❦| ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ •❧ ஐ ❧• ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ |❦| A disinterested dame stood in the dusty desert which was now occupied by so many. How stupid. Such filthy peasants. She hated this, being out in the elements without the protection of her family's bodyguards. Walking among the masses did not suit her at all. She had a desire to leave the hot and dusty desert, but she couldn't return to anywhere else familiar out of pure spite for her family. Now where was she to go? There was no way Hortensia was going to stoop so low as to fall completely out of the social scope. The thought repulsed her. Yet she had to do something.So that was how she wound up at this silly festival. What was it even for? Probably something stupid. The girl sighed and readjusted her posture. There was no reason to be unsightly here. Even if these people meant nothing to her, it was unsightly to slump. The heat was beginning to get to the Hylian girl; the weight of her small bag weighed her down despite the lack of things in it. How long until this thing ended? Hortensia had not even seen the beginning of the festival, yet was already regretting coming out to this miserable desert. |❦| ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ •❧ ஐ ❧• ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ |❦|
々▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬々 々The scum had dared to look back at him and blew a kiss at him..."Gerudo filth..." He would say somewhat aloud, but not enough for her to hear. Just when he was about to confront her, Commander James had told him to not stare and thus, Zido would have to take her out of his sights for now. The Royal Guard would continue to walk around the festival, his armored boots making deep imprints into the sand while the ends his long cape taking up sand. During his patrol he had spotted a young man wearing a green tunic that was familiar on so many levels, was he of that bloodline? Was he of the lineage of Heroes? If so, Zido would have to test his swordsmanship later. But for now he would have to wait for the gate to open so that this world and the World of Twilight would be bridged once again.
Link ▲═════════════════════════════════════▲ ▲═════════════════════════════════════
 ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════After Link had his palm read he found the kiosks a little much, or else needed a break from them. The people were much more interesting. The crowds had time to congeal in their collective convection, and so the outliers, or at least the interesting ones, would be a little easier to find in the indexed circles now forming around the various tents with the grand tent.
Up on the hills were a sight the Hero couldn't rightly ignore. Some strange horse and what looked like some people talking beside it. Being the fun-loving, adventuring guy he was, Link shot up toward them. He'd have to get past the guards first, who gave him a once-over before turning him loose with a word of caution about the dirty thieves in the area.
Before Lilian would know what was what she would see a young man in festive armor (not a green tunic) standing right in front of her, apparently asking for information.
The Moment of Truth...!
All this would have to wait, however, as the conversations of all would be blasted clean through by the Hylian band playing a frightfully triumphant fanfare to the Royal Family. There stood a few guards, Zido of course being among them, a Sheikah representative, the King, and of course Princess Zelda. Behind them were the most trusted magicians in the land, sweating perhaps more than anyone else while holding some powders, stones, and other magical ingredients over a mosaic representation of some arcane circle.
"... My children, my precious children!" The King's voice broke the silence created by the bugles and trumpets into a thousand pieces of their own. "Today we are here to celebrate a new chapter in Hyrule's history--though I see some of you are already far ahead of the plan." His laugh was truly incredible, a veritable force of nature.
"... Ahem! Yes, well... Today we come to open a new chapter in our book, one of peace and prosperity; a closing to the disparity among races my predecessors saw--wrongly of course--as the will of Her Grace. Our top men have been working 'round the clock, tirelessly, to forge for our brethren of shadows a way back; and we must welcome them as though they never left! As though they hadn't had to..." The crowd seemed to stir, mumbling questions of who it could be, seeing as the lay people had only bedtime stories at this point to go on--and mind you those were many for Hyruleans, so it wasn't going to be solved anytime soon which people His Majesty was referring to.
"I speak of course of..." The King stopped for a moment, realising he was being drowned out by a new sun rising from the dunes. The gate had set up and was coming together, each piece snapping together to produce a bright flash within the already impressive glow. The magicians made arcane gestures and held firm; this was shown by the weights they were chained to whipping in the new wind. When it was all said and done the old gate was there, spinning like the first day the Hero long forgotten now saw it with his Hylian eyes. Link watched, and for the first time felt a bigger adventure fill his heart. It washed over him with such power that he nearly lost himself in it.
"... Please, let us welcome warmly our family from afar: THE TWILI!"
 Ambiance~ Aura of Peace Oh, if only I could have been there I'd be a hand for the sinking Alright... this is definitely a far way from home. Ambiance was able to confirm the more she looked around. She had thought about trying to keep a map after the first few moments... but that idea seemed rather impractical when she remembered that she had none of her belongings actually with her and nothing to make a map with. It was kind of a miracle that she had even found something edible in her bag. Nevertheless, remaining isolated didn't help anyone actually get anywhere. So, here she was... a complete stranger... and traveling. It seemed like a marvelous idea! Perhaps even better than waiting patiently to see if help or anyone would arrive!
Well, logically it was a terrible idea. Though, when she considered the state of the building she found herself in, staying stationary was not a favorable idea. She needed to find people. Where there were people, there would be someone who knew enough about the area to direct her to a lead, or perhaps even a landmark that she could use.
After wandering for a while, she did find people. Actually, most of the people ended up gathered.... was it a festival of some kind? Well, maybe. She adjusted the small bag that was with her, being mindful of how empty it was, and then she gathered her courage and began to walk to join the fairly large group of people.
I wish I could protect you here Oh, please don't cry, now, smile
