Ah suburbia. It was nice to come back to the pretty little homes, so cookie-cutter and picture perfect and such a facade. She laughed, humming to herself as she walked along the empty sidewalk. She could see lights on in many of the houses, TVs flashing behind closed curtains or visible through gaps. How many of these homes held white-collar criminals? How many used prescription medications as their expensive thrills? How many disputes would never be reported to police? It was beautiful how many lies the media told. This was the most dangerous side of the tracks.
The half-youma had no qualms walking out in such an open space. It was becoming her M.O. Walk in the open, let those who were curious come to her, moths to her flame. She was a noble, after all, a beacon in the darkness. It was by her whim to show mercy or deliver judgement. It was a heavy responsibility on her shoulders. What was a poor woman to do~?
Carnotite was in delighted spirits as she entered a park on the street. Little Chrismas lights decorated a few of the trees, meant to marvel children and the children-at-hearts. So adorable really. Her third eye scanned the darkness, searching for the electrical signatures of living bodies. Whom would come to her? Whom would seek the lighthouse standing in the dark?

Cliff--rather, Urda at the current point of time--was rather fond of suburbia. Outside of school and soccer and senshi-adventures, young Urda was all too oblivious to a lot of the bad hidden beneath a layer of good. The facade, as it were, was reality to him. Suburbia was home, and his particular home was the American dream complete with a white picket fence. Or at least it used to be, until his dad decided it was tacky with the current day and age and got rid of it. Still, the memory of having that fence stuck with him.
Tonight he was beyond that fence though, meandering through the park as he was wont to do on patrols. Most nights nothing really happened and he jumped and tumbled and did acrobatic feats (that he could only manage as a senshi; he tried once as a regular kid and he ended up bruising his tailbone) to pass the time. Tonight was shaping up to be no different. In fact, he was about ready to start practicing his bush-summoning powers on one of the little horse-type mount things in the sandbox until something caught his eyes.
Something bright, and something that didn't seem to match the more festive colored lights that lit up the park for the holidays. It drew his attention, his focus, and with a big grin he bounded over despite the slightest tingle of chaos in his mental radar.
"Hi!" he greeted ever enthusiastically from a distance. "It's kinda late for Halloween," he said, in comment to both her costume and the fact that she had lights on her head and a third eye to boot, "but I think your costume fits with the holidays just fine!"

Carnotite had felt the Order signature, and she'd waited patiently to see if it would approach. It was... curiously small--weak? Or just small..?--and she hadn't been entirely sure what to expect as the figure bounded up towards her. To see a small boy though... the woman laughed, dainty and warm as she set her hands on her thighs and leaned down a bit to be slightly more on level with him. "Oh aren't you just darling," she cooed, acting as if he was touched by his words. Costume? Clearly this child didn't know what he was doing. Quite an interesting thing though.
Did those guardians intentionally awaken such naive, young children? Tsk tsk, how irresponsible. And no one there to tell him to watch out for the boogeymen in the darkness...
"It's not a costume, sweetheart," she laughed, glowing eyes crinkling as she grinned. Straightening, the half-youma extended her metallic hands and forearms out, spinning slowly to show off her full form and partial youma aspects. When she faced him again, she chuckled. "I've been given a gift. A wonderful, powerful gift. Something only the very special, worthy people get." Children liked gifts, didn't they~? She wondered if she could dangle a shiny, bright carrot in this boy's face. Would he try to take it~?
Of course she knew of senshi within the Negaverse ranks, but how young were they? Hm...
"I am Carnotite. Who are you, sweetheart~?"

Her voice reminded him of his teacher, which made him that much more comfortable around her.
"It's not?" he asked as he moved closer to see what she was talking about. When she twirled to show him as much, his mouth made that little "o" shape as things started clicking in his mind. So this was a gift, then? Kinda like how superheroes were given their abilities and such for a reason? With an even wider grin he realized that they weren't all that much different. She was chosen for this gift, he was chosen for his.
"Neat!" the boy cried out, leaning this way and that to glimpse the curious-looking woman at whatever angle he could manage. "That's pretty cool, you're kinda like a lighthouse but for us land-folk. Bet you were pretty special if you got that kinda power. I mean me? I summon a bush. I mean, it isn't the worst power I've ever seen, but it's awfully hard to use in a fight I guess?" Not that he'd been in too many of those, though.
The young senshi digressed as Carnotite went ahead and introduced herself. His power woes, he hoped, would pass as he upgrades, but for now he had to work with what he was given. It was really hard not to dwell on it, but so far so good! He hadn't complained about his powers in at least a week now. Er...well, at least until just then.
"I'm Urda!" he replied, ridding himself of such thoughts and instead beaming a smile at her that was as bright as the lightbulbs atop her head.
"Okay, so if it isn't a costume then how do you sleep at night? I can't sleep with a light on, not even a night light and those are really dim."

The fact this child was so trusting was quickly realized to be a hell of a chance for the half-youma. A lighthouse for land-folk, hm~? "Yes, that's exactly it~" The Negaverse agent beamed, delighted that even a child could be smart enough to say such things. Either this kid was far too sweet for this war, or he was exceptionally good at buttering up his elders. Either way, she didn't mind. "I'm the light in the darkness, wouldn't you say~?" She accented the corny joke with a wink of one of her human eyes.
But before she could let her ego preen in the light of a little shine, her attention was snagged as the tiny senshi began to talk about... summoning a bush? Her head tilted, a finger lifting to tap at her lips. "Just what is your power, darling~? Could you show me?" She didn't know a lot about senshi. If she could start garnering a better idea of how they function, it would only be an asset to her down the lines.
And if she could get one on her side...
Well. That could have the potential to open many, many doors to her.
His question at least made her give a genuine laugh. "You know, I'm not sure. I guess I got used to it~? It's so warm in the light for me, it just feels natural since I gained my powers."
