Hiya, folks!
I'm really in the mood to do a psychological/paranormal horror RP, but I'm having trouble coming up with a prompt or storyline. I'm open to brainstorming! (:

On a monday morning, in the forest, near my grandma's house. I felt all alone...no one around for several miles out. My dog kept barking like there was something out there. I know I could feel a presence like someone WAS out there. But couldn't seem to come to my senses that my grandma's land might be haunted. It never occurred to me. Maybe it was my stubborn side of me... I don't know.
Night fell over and most def. I heard someone scream on the top of their lungs. I got the shivers from head to toe. I had to go check it out.
hows that?

I absolutely love your prompt idea! I love the idea of isolation or being isolated while some unknown force/being is tormenting you. For me, true horror comes from subtlety and that's what I'm trying to achieve for this RP. I want my horror to come from the mind and through implications. Then as things progress, the implicit horror can become explicit as it manifests itself. A Thing in the woods, whether it's real or not, would certain be a step in the right direction.

I'm happy to see that someone also likes the concept of horror through implications. I've always been a firm believer that it's the horror you don't see or don't know that is the most frightening.

I'm happy to see that someone also likes the concept of horror through implications. I've always been a firm believer that it's the horror you don't see or don't know that is the most frightening. Well, I always say gore makes you disgusted. Jump scare makes your heart beat and psychological horror makes you sit in a corner and wait as your death comes. Well, what is your Idea so far?

Hmm. More horror role plays, eh? I don't believe, that I've been scared by any horror thing, but then again, never been in a haunted house, haha! Annyyways, if ye need an extra, let me know; I can be an extra! Plus, I can work with anything really; I've got a heart of an explorer!

Whoa! Sorry for falling off the Earth for a bit.
I kind of what to work with something going on in an isolated place, like a cabin far away from civilization. I came across a concept online that I absolutely fell in love with and wanted to try out. Do you know how the further out you go into the ocean, the deeper and darker it gets? Well imagine a forest or woods that functioned like that. Like with the further you go in, the less sunlight peaks in through the trees and the more horrifying and disturbing the flora and fauna seem to become. I also have entertained the thought of the people, however many we want to use, being tormented by a deer-like entity, whether corporeal or not. Maybe like a wendigo spirit or the characters' paranoia creating this entity.
I basically want to really work on that feeling of paranoia and potential madness.

I basically want to really work on that feeling of paranoia and potential madness. I like what you have for brainstorming c: I'm intrigued and interested to see where this goes. I have a couple of ideas in regards to the works of paranoia/potential madness.
Why do you think people get scared of things that they can't see? Because someone else said that they saw a ghost? It could be but it's really because people believe that those things are real. but how is it real if you can't physically touch it? It's all about your perception. It's all in your mind. The mind likes to play tricks on you whether if you're aware of it or not. You know that there's believers and nonbelievers. They both have some knowledge that something exists and it's up to each individual person to believe or not to believe. This small factor could play a key role in your RP. With that being said, the psychological aspects of my idea fit almost perfectly with what you have brainstormed. And like in most horror movies, games, books, etc etc, the entities always feeds off fear to make itself more present to those it's trying to scare or possess. They even make people do stupid things just to get a good laugh from it, such as turning people against each other or turning someone insane with chaotic thoughts. but the number one thing that makes this all possible are the thoughts of people. Thoughts are scary even when it doesn't relate to scary things. Everyone has things to do, life to live but every now and then you get those negative thoughts of failure or not appealing to others in a correct way etc etc. You can say that negativity are the roots of fear and what's more scary than an entity prying at you with negative thoughts or showing you scary illusions? I wouldn't know for sure but I would get driven mad. I can go on and on but i feel like ill just keep rambling haha

I haven't done an RP in forever, and i'm interested in this. If you don't mind, I'd like to get on this.
I don't have many idea's but I do want to share that the human mind can't make up faces. So the faces you see in your dreams, are faces you've seen in real life.
