CERAMICS
Taught by Jeanine for ACADEMY students.
Rules:

You may enter TWO Nightmares/Daydreams per stage.
Look below to see what activities are available, choose the one that is appropriate to your Nightmare/Daydream's stage.
Make sure to include all activity instructions in your post along with your response. Failure to do so will render your participation void for growths/graduation.

FRESHLING:
Jeanine was so excited to have gotten the teaching job she'd applied for. Now, as her first group of freshlings toddled in, she practically vibrated with excitement as she watched them sit down. As soon as they'd all settled into their seats, she started the class with a bright smile. "Hello, my name is Jeanine and I'll be your new ceramics teacher. Today will be an easy day. I have some magazines with some pictures of ceramic work in them. I'd like you all to come up and pick out your favorite and then once everyone has one you can tell us what you like about it." She gestured to the stack of magazines that sat on her desk and as soon as she finished explaining the activity, she moved out of the way so they could come pick a magazine out.

Jeanine watched the juniors filing in. This would be fun. As soon as they were all seated, she launched into today's lesson. "My name is Jeanine. I'm so happy to meet all of you, and I look forward to seeing you all in my class! Today, we're going to be discussing some ceramic things you use every day. These can be functional pieces, things that you can use, or they can be decorative pieces, things that are there just to enjoy as art. Would you like to start us off?" she called on the junior nearest to her.

 Sitting down she took the paper and looked it over. Hey she actually knew a few of these to start. It was true she really only knew about it from her interest in art and drawing but trying her hand at making something rather than sketching it sounded like a lot of fun. She was defiantly looking forward to the class and the questions didn’t seem all that hard since she had looked up a few prior to the start of class. Even if she failed it thought it really wouldn’t be to bad as long as she was able to create and have a bit of fun. Smiling and brushing her hair from her eyes she set to work on the paper as quickly as she could wanting the class to start.

With plush in tow, Erzalie was carried into the room with the small group of freshlings attending Mx. Jeanine’s ceramics class. She was pretty, with bright eyes and a welcoming smile that Erza found soothing; they listened to her introduction and moved towards the stack of magazines to begin the assignment without saying a word to any of their classmates. Selecting one of the offered periodicals, the little hybrid found a seat and began perusing with their plush securely settled in their lap. Every so often, small humming sounds could be heard from Erza, and their two expressive tails gave open indication as to how much each piece viewed pleased - or displeased - them. When Erza finally found an image that struck them particularly, their tails twisted together and they murmured to their plush “That’s it.”Name: Erzalie Image: Response: Erza went to Jeanine with their chosen image to show they were ready and in turn went before the class to explain why that particular ceramic piece had caught their attention - and imagination - so completely. “I really like that the, um, artist…took something familiar and useful. Um, an everyday object? And then made like they were taking it apart so you could see the um, potens-“ They paused and twisted their tails tightly against each other. “ Potential insides. What it could be, in the middle. Where we can’t really see.” They finished with an uncurling of tails and a shy smile, “I really like it and maybe someday I can make something like it.” Once finished, the hybrid returned to their seat and immediately snagged their plush for comfort, watching as others did the same as they had done. Random Nobody 13 I do hope this is alright, I've never done a class/rp for this shop so I wasn't certain. @__@;; Please do let me know if I need to correct or change anything. Thank you!

"Most of the mortar and pestle sets around my home are made of ceramic," Florence said after a moment, head slightly tilted and antennae curled in pensively. "My mom has one for science experiments and my dad and siblings use theirs in the kitchen. They're pretty light compared to the stone ones, but heavier than the wood, so they grind things up better. They're also easy to keep clean and come in several different sizes, depending on what you want to use it for." Florence grinned. "I've used it a couple times as well, even though I'm not as good a cook as my dad. I just like trying to make new combinations of spices."

Image: Masks
Response: Salacia had decided to bring in a pair of theatre masks, she raised herself up on her tail to show the class the masks. "These are theatre masks, I guess they are mostly decorative now, but some theatre groups still use traditional theatre masks so I guess they could be considered practical in that sense." Salacia wasn't thrilled to be in this class she had wanted to take a theatre class for her elective but had not been able to find one. So she rambled about the darn ceramic masks, hoping it would make the teacher happy enough to give her a passing grade.

Response: Wren smiled softly as he went into the ceramics class, he waited for his turn and said "Pitches can be made of ceramics and they are for practical use, I want to have lots of them for my bed and breakfast when I grow up." He said warmly, the idea of having bowls, pitchers, mugs and all sorts of other cute hand made items made Wren happy. He really liked hand made things, like quilts, furniture ect. He had long ago decided he would fill his bed and breakfast with hand made things rather than things from factories or at least he would buy from local businesses.

Response: Georgette sighed. He hadn’t wanted this class, but the one he did want didn’t have any openings so here he was. He had to think for a moment before standing and giving a response to the teacher. “Vases and lamps can be made of ceramic. My parents have quite a few at home. There are two table lamps in our living room, they are small and delicate looking but provide a lot of light. My mother keeps a tall ceramic vase on our side table by our front door. Most of the time it holds roses.” He stopped talking and sat back down. All he could think was please let him get through this class quickly without any sort of incidents.

Niamh blinked as the assignment was announced. She was kind of disappointed... She had signed up for this class, thinking she would get to learn how to make things with clay, create their own art. Or in her case, she was hoping to make new pet dishes for her animals. It seemed like it would be nice to make personal ones. And maybe... maybe a handmade teacup for Sathe, one that was a little larger and more solid, but still pretty, for when they had tea together. When it was her turn, however, she looked up and said "Teapots are often ceramic, and I have one I use all the time." She pulled her phone out, and showed a picture of her beloved tea set. "It is kumiho made, this one, and I got it from a Kumiho I met while in the forest... After they emerged."
