Personality:
Exuding the properties of the gemstone she possesses, Mai is a powerfully inspirational person who brings a joyful and positive aura to her team. She stands tall and strong with the confidence she inspires in those around her. Her aura in times of stress comes out as a golden yellow, shining like the Sun and covers her team completely.

Mai's darkness within herself is not always contained by her positivism, leaving her to somewhat be discouraged when nothing, not even her ability to inspire, beings positive blessings. She was almost once swallowed by darkness, casting a mark on her soul to be forever haunted by the negative emotions which almost consumed her. When she is unable to inspire even herself, Mai becomes moody, discouraged, and stiff with anger. Her appearance may change, created an eclipse of her positive aura as well as her Sunstone. These moments never last much like an eclipse of the Sun, meaning she is usually back to her usual self and with a strong, proud stance.

Personal History:
Birthrights are often bestowed upon to those most deserving. Anyone who saw Mai Ietsuna would believe her birthright was something grander than her environment and situation she came to know well. Her parents were ordinary, often filled with regret and negativity, leading Mai to feeling hatred towards her parents as she continued to desire a new life, filled with hope and inspiration. One such day, while she attended her high school class, a voice came to her, loving and soft with whispers of a grander life.

Mai's life had occasional voices in her thoughts when her guard was down, but she continued her life, regardless of the negativity. When she was at school, she was able to stand tall and strong, inspiring her classmates to do more and do it better. She was a shining example, with excellent grades; however, she did not have many close friends, with a few superficial relationships with her classmates. She was afraid to let others get too close, fearing they would learn her parent's dark history. Her parents were unloving towards each other, threatening divorce every other day. Her mother had resorted to having many lovers while her father slaved away at his day job, picking up extra hours to make a decent wage.

Mai still had some hope, believing she was destined for greatness outside of her life, which is why she continued to excel in her school work. She hoped her grade would allow her to pick a college in the future to get away from her family. Yet with her hope came a darkness, creeping into the corners of her life, as her father lost his job and her mother was overcome by an illness most deathly.

Facing the hardships which came to her family, Mai found her guard lowered and the voices returned. Ignoring these voices until she could not take it anymore, Mai felt her life become increasingly negative as her parents appeared to be monsters. "Join us..." the voice whispered and called for Mai to give herself up for a grander life. Just as she felt herself giving up and her heart turning cold from the negativity, another voice, stronger, called out "don't give in! Remember and fight". Just as the darkness surrounded Mai, taking away her vision, a piercing bright light appeared from her chest, summoning a fairly sizable brooch with a Sunstone gem in the middle. (Brooch)
