Multiple seasons had passed since Thom had left Celaeno to fend for herself to go and follow the task that had been set to him by the Fauns. Cela had eatten all that was left in the cave she called home with her father within a week of him leaving. Since that time she had been trying her best to hunt, but being the spoiled brat she was when she was raised she wasn't a very good hunter at all. She had grown up with her father pampering her and letting her get away with pretty much everything, which included not having to hunt for her dinner.
Each afternoon after sleeping in till the sun was high in the sky, the blue harpy descended from her cave and walked to the shore of Cha'en Beach near slope heading up to the Ithyl Forest to attempt to catch herself a fish or two to feed herself for the rest of that afternoon and evening. Once in a while she managed to catch two, more often she managed 1, but about a third of the time she failed to get any at all and she turned to finding berries at the edge of the forest. This day she'd been 'fishing' for over an hour and was nearing her limit and preparing to just eat berries for the fourth day in a row.

While Venus took great care of Shakira, her instinct to hunt was not one that could be so easily provided for in Dolander, so she often went to the main land to hunt. This wasn't solely for the purposes of eating, Shakira was always on the search for her lost children. Though she also hunted for other reasons now, she could not handle the idea that the vile snakes roamed free on this island, and while she could easily guess that they were cowering away within their safe borders of Dragnid forest, she hoped to personally take care of any lone snake that dared to step outside. The beautiful harpy matriarch was perched high up in a tree, her wild and fierce eyes focused on the ground below, waiting for movement.

Frustrated, Celaeno splashed at the water and stood up from her crouch at the lake's edge and turned kicking sand a little and trudged towards the edge of the treeline and the nearest berry bushes. She scooped up a loose piece of bark on her way to use as a basket of sorts. She didn't see anyone near her and there was very rarely anyone in that place for her to even see so she didn't pay any attention for anything different.

Startled by the approaching harpy, a rabbit jumped quickly away from the berry bushes, deeper into the forest. It was the kind of thing Shakira would have pursued for her meal, a rabbit temporarily exposed in his escape. He had caught her eye for a moment, but Shakira was more interested in what the rabbit was running away from. Why on earth was this harpy standing near the berry bushes instead of catching the rabbit. Shakira leapt up from her perch, swiftly headed towards the ground below, only to land gracefully on her taloned feet. "What, my sweet child, are you doing?" The tone of her voice sounded reprimanding in a motherly sort of way.

The sudden appearance of the second harpy startled Cela, it caused her to drop the bark she was holding and the few berries she'd already collected. She'd only ever met one other like her and that was her sister, and she'd certainly never seen one as fancy as the one that stood in front of her. "I.. I.." she wasn't sure if she wanted to tell this woman. "Getting something to eat" she finally admitted and quickly stooped to pick her bark back up and a few of the berries that were near it on the ground. She wasn't ashamed but she didn't sound thrilled or proud of the fact either.

Shakira's face turned down. Getting something to eat? She was worried that had been the case. She looked at the berries that had rolled across the ground when she had startled the other harpy. Berries were alright, but they didn't quench her natural desires. "Don't you eat meat? A perfectly fine rabbit was right near you." Her head tilted to the side as she watched the blue harpy stoop down to pick up the piece of bark. It was hard to tell from her somewhat rough nature, but her heart bled for her fellow harpies. This was not the first time she had encountered one of her lost children that was lost in the ways of their proud heritage.

She looked up at the harpy as she scooped the last of the berries that were near, "course I do..." she answers "Nothing better then a well roasted bunny" her eyes drift to looking off to nowhere as she remembers the meals her dad would make for her when she demanded food from him, "stuffed with wild mushrooms and herbs" she continued her voice sounding a little lost in thought as she remembered those meals so much she could almost smell and taste them. Cela's stomach growled as it often did when she imagined the meals she used to get to eat on a daily basis.

Shakira watched the other harpy curiously as she seemed to drift off in thought. It had been possible that rabbit was just not her thing, perhaps she preferred squirrel or... snake. It became quite clear that this wasn't the case though. Shakira was no brainless bird though, there was no excuse not to go after that bunny if you were someone who loved it so much. "Do you know how to hunt?" That had been the difficult thing about her children being accidentally handed out as door prizes, many of them went home with normal pae. It would have been better for them to be on their own then that. At least then, instinct would take over. "What is your name, child?"

Cela's attention snapped back to reality when she heard the next question asked of her. "Uhmmm" she looked at the other pae then at her berries turning them between her fingers like they were suddenly the most fascinating thing she'd ever seen "Not really" she mumbled the last of her response to the question "Dad always did it" she didn't look up in fact she felt kinda stupid for not actually knowing and she didn't really like that feeling, she was far more used to feeling like the spoiled brat pae she was raised like.
She shifted from one foot to another for a moment, still staring at the berries, how she wished her dad were around then she wouldn't be in this predicament. "My name? It's Celaeno..." she gave the info up easily.

Shakira nodded her head solemnly, it was as she thought. Even if he had taught her to hunt, it wasn't as if he could teach her properly. Normal pae used weapons they made, but harpies were born with their weapons. "My name is Shakira, I am the harpy matriarch." She stared at the other harpy, who seemed to be purposefully avoiding looking at her. "I can teach you to hunt... If you'd like." Harpies were often quite pridely, so it wouldn't surprise Shakira if the other turned her down, but it was so important to her that Celaeno know how to take care of herself. "Fresh meat is so much better than berries." She added, hoping to convince the other to accept her offer.

Cela listened to the the other pae who looked like another of her own kind, but definitely fancier then herself or her sister. She heard the offer to teach her how to hunt, the female had a point the thought of fresh meat was far more tempting then the berries in her hands. She wasn't ready just yet to accept that offer just yet, there was something else Shakira had said that perked her interest more... Cela looked up from the berries, her eyes visibly studied the appearance of the matriarch. "What's a harpy?" she asked wanting that information before she was ready to accept the help. She likely would have taken the offer had it been to get her the food but for now she wanted to know the other information, perhaps it would explain the other's interest in her.

Shakira was silent for a moment. Oh? Oh dear. It wasn't like she could honestly expect them to know what they were. It didn't make her any less sad about it though. "You are a harpy." She finally responded. How to even begin to describe a harpy to her. "We are beautiful and fierce, the best hunters out there, and we have quite the way with males too." She said that last part with a small wink. Shakira wasn't even begin to ask about Celaeno's male prospects, she knew that would only sadden her as well.

Listening to the other pae Cela's feathers ruffled and fluffed when she was told they were beautiful and fierce, she wasn't so sure about the hunting part and she had yet to try her ways with any male aside from her father who doted about her no mater what. A small smirk playing on the harpy's lip she moved closer to the Shakira "Ooohh do tell more" she said almost playfully. Cela's stomach growled softly but she ignored it for now, she was more interested in finding out the info as it was being told to her.

What more could she say, Shakira was a harpy of song and action, words less so. She would rather show this young harpy how to hunt and show her how much more there was to who she was. It was clear that she was still wanting more information though. Shakira had for the most part covered the basics. "Tell me, is there anything you have ever wondered about yourself?"

Cela had to ponder this question, honestly she had never put much thought into it. Sure she was different then half her family, but her sister was the same as her. Her parents never really discussed the differences, likely due to the fact that the family was so mixed as it was with it being two harpies an angel and a faun. On top of this she was so spoiled by her dad the thought hadn't occurred to her to question WHY they were so different or how she'd come to live with the family as it stood. "Is there a lot of us? I have only met my sister, mom and dad don't look like us at all."
