The Burial Grounds: Honouring the Fallen
Located just outside the Pomerium Line due to Roman Tradition the Burial Grounds of Tertio Rome is shared by Citizens and Legion Members alike. There are separate funeral rites depending on how one dies and the Burial Ground is often visited regularly by family members or friends with offerings of food, wine and flowers.
A statue of Pluto is located in the middle of the Graveyard and is quite imposing when compared to the small white headstones that surround it. Many say that Tertio Rome's cemetery looks like a military graveyard and the flat expanse of land is almost featureless except for the memorials to the dead.
In death all are equal for Legionnaires, Probatios, Praetors, Senators and even Augurs are all buried side by side here. Most of these graves are still quite fresh only being made after the initial battle that forced the Romans to flee San Francisco. Unfortunately most of the remains could not be retrieved but those that were were given their just rites.
Frank Zhang's grave is visited often due to his heroic act securing the Roman escape.
