The Pomerium Line: The Boundary of Tertio Rome
Entrance and Exit
Entrance and Exit
The Pomerium Line is a sacred and legal boundary that encircled most Roman Cities and Towns; to the Romans Rome only existed within the Pomerium and anything beyond its borders were simply Ager (territory that belonged to Rome).
The Pomerium Line to Tertio Rome, like the one in New Rome before it, is a lot more than a symbol however. The Pomerium Line encircles the whole of Tertio Rome up to the point where one would step foot onto one of the two main bridges to come across to the Roman West Bank. These Bridges are the East Bridge from New Byzantium and the Legion Bridge that goes to Camp Gemini. Weapons and ill intentions are not allowed over the Pomerium Line and Terminus, the God of Boundaries, enforces the rules rather vigilantly with his two assistants at each bridge.
The first assistant at Legion Bridge is Julia, a veteran Pomerium Monitor who has grown up to be a fine looking young lady and the other is a young war orphan known simply as Gracia. These two help Terminus detain any weapons or trespassers. Terminus may also erect an invisible barrier to defend the camp but this can be somewhat unreliable after his defeat at New Rome weakened him considerably.
Greeks need special permission to cross over the Pomerium Line. Weapons will be detained with terminus until the owner leaves and prisoners will be taken back to Camp Gemini by Roman Soldiers.
