It was right after dinner time, and Sedna took to patrolling. She was cutting through the park quickly before moving on the busier sections of the city, when she had felt it. The tug of an Order signature. The senshi paused, blinking, as she turned in the direction of the signature. Of course she was curious, and of course she was going to go investigate!
She stepped out from around a grove of trees, and was greeted by the sight of what appeared to be a young boy on a bench. She blinked some more, a bit taken aback to just see another senshi just chillin' out on a bench on the park...much less one that looks really young! Sedna stepped around the bench to face the other, leaning a bit as she waved a hand at him. "Good evening!" She greeted, beaming widely at him.
"Just hanging out, huh?"

Goretti wasn’t even sure what he was doing out here. His father was out at work so there was no one at home to miss him, and for as nervous as he was to go out in the city and risk running into another Negaverse Agent—or rather, one in particular—he couldn't help but be miserable just sitting home alone.
…So he was miserable sitting home in the park.
It wasn't supposed to be that way, of course. He'd gone out with the intent to do some good but every noise was making him jump, every energy signature he was running away from. He wasn't grown up at all, but he was smart enough to know that that meant maybe he needed to sit down and clear his head.
When he heard a voice he looked up, surprised, and flashed a weak smile. He waved with little enthusiasm, but he seemed more tired than unfriendly. Usually he loved meeting new people. Now…
He was just worried about letting everyone down.
"Just hanging out, yeah," he answered when he lowered his hand. "What about you?"

The lack of enthusiasm was obviously apparent, and it had the older senshi blinking and tilting her head curiously. She of course, was nosy though, and would be inquiring, especially since this senshi was new--- and so little. She couldn't believe there were kids out there fighting too! Never mind that though she was in college, she was still very much a kid herself. "Well, I was about to go out on patrol---but now I'm here and talking to you!" She beamed at him, her expression turning fox eyed. "What's up, little buddy? You seem down!" She could just be assuming things but--- "Can I put you in my pocket?" She blurted as she opened her eyes to stare at him. " You're so cute." Sedna then started to pat down her coat, because it suddenly occurred to her that she didn't think her uniform had pockets. Sedna patted the inside of her coat, and then her vest, and then her pants, but came up with nothing. "Oh----oops! No pockets!" She grinned sheepishly at him. "How old are you?" She was now just bombarding the poor kid with questions, since she was utterly curious and couldn't help herself. "Have you been a senshi long? I can't believe kids can be fighting too! You're the youngest looking one I've seen so far! Amazing!"

For a moment, Goretti was quiet, and then he just shrugged. "I'm fourteen. I'll be fifteen in February. But I haven't hit my growth spurt, yet. Which is part of why I'm down, I guess." He sighed, a bit over exaggerated.
"I've been a senshi for…for, I don't know. Like two years and a few months. It's pretty pathetic, huh? I'm not even a real senshi, like you. I guess I got woken up too young. And I've been working hard! All I ever wanted to do was keep people safe. Be a superhero, you know?"
He slumped against the back of the bench.
"Ordinarily I'd be really, really happy to meet you, but I'm kinda…"
He sighed.
"…I'm not doing so good, I don't think. But it's nice to meet you."
He extended a hand. "I'm Goretti. Chibi Super of Glue."Lucyal stick him in your pocket; i will never let him grow 8D

Sedna let out a low whistle. "Wooow! I can't believe it! You're so young!" She blinked and then let out a laugh. "Aww! Don't be so down! You'll get there soon! But hey---" She grinned at him, and then leaned to whisper as if imparting to him a scandalous secret. "Eat more pop tarts---those help you grow!" She let out another whistle, and then looked utterly surprised. "WOAH! What!? You've been a senshi for over two years! You started when you were like twelve!?" Mind blown. She nodded her head a bit as he listened though. "Oh--don't say that! I'm sure you're a real senshi---and hey YOU ARE A SUPER HERO! You can do magic!" Sedna clenched her fists and pumped them excitedly. After, she immediately thrust her hand out and took his, shaking it enthusiastically. "It's great to meet you, Goretti! I'm Sedna, Senshi of Ships!" Eeeeee, chibi! "Oh, wow, there really are all kinds of crazy magic, huh? Glue and ships!"

Goretti watched the girl for a minute, and even if he was tired and his emotions weren't all what they should be, he smiled. It wasn't a full, broad grinned smile like he was known for, but it was at least a real one. "I guess you're right, it is crazy magic."
He adjusted his position a little bit and couldn't help but laugh—even just softly. "I think you need better advice than pop tarts, though. I eat plenty. And Fruit Roll Ups." Never giving those up.
…And then his questions started. He seemed to be getting a bit more interested, and even if he did still seem a bit reserved, curiosity had lit him up—at least a bit. "How old are you? I mean, you seem pretty excited about this whole thing. Are you still new? How long have you been doing it?"

"Crazy awesome though!" Sedna laughed, and then stopped, playfully narrowing her eyes at Goretti as she held out a hand to him. "Uh, wow, fruit by the foot is way better!" Said the college student who had quite a few boxes of them stuffed in her cabinet. She then grinned at him. "Oh, and GUSHERS!" Gushers were life. She beamed at him, and planted her hands on her hips, only briefly. "Eighteen!" She chirped in reply, and then flashed him a peace sign. "I'm gonna be nineteen soon, though!" A few weeks at that, actually. "Oh yeah! I'm so stoked!" She nodded her head enthusiastically. "A little more than two weeks now!" Quite the contrast to his two years. "But I've known about all this crazy magic stuff for a few months now!"

"You're still new!" Goretti said, smile on his face. It wavered but he was forcing it now. "It used to be fun. I mean, it probably still is, but now I've just been having some problems. I like being a superhero, and keeping everyone safe. Fighting youma, talking to people. I like that part. But I really," he shuddered, "really don't like the Negaverse. I…"
He faltered, torn between being honest and sparing her the brutality of it.
…But the fact was, she was a part of this war now, and she was going to find out one way or another. Even if she did seem incredibly nice and like the perfect person to go have fun patrolling with.
"…I couldn’t save this lady. This Nega girl just showed up and pulled her starseed out and I was no match. I haven't been in a good mood ever since and I just don't know what to do. I just…I feel stupid and weak, and…"
He was quiet and then sighed heavily. "…I let her down. And I feel so awful. It's my fault. I wish I could have saved her. I didn't even want to power up again, because I don't want to let anyone down, but then I'm just wasting this magic and letting other people get hurt if I don’t at least try. It just…sucks."
He sighed heavily and slumped again. It was obvious that this was tearing him up, but he didn't know what to do—and while he didn't know if some girl who had only been a senshi for two weeks could help him figure that out, she was at least making him feel better. Her bubbly personality was contagious and he wanted to smile.
He just couldn’t stop thinking about that woman he'd left, lifeless, on the roof.

For as enthusiastic and optimistic as she was, Sedna sobered up as Goretti spoke, and he had her undivided attention. At some point she settled onto the bench beside him, leaning with her elbows on her knees and her hands clasped as she looked at him. Ouch. That was rough, and especially for someone so young. As she listened, to wondered if she was looking at a possible future for herself...guilty because she couldn't help someone. Admittedly, she'd been so focused on the positive aspects and the fun of being powered, that she hadn't thought too hard about this...or that maybe, if Oberon hadn't saved her when he did...she'd be like that lady Goretti spoke about, too. Now she wondered...she wished she could have asked Oberon if there had even been times if he hadn't...made it in time... Sedna was silent for a moment, her lips pulling down and her brows knitting in thought. She then came to a decision, giving herself a small nod before she turned to angle herself towards the chibi senshi. "You know what I think, Goretti?" Sedna started, reaching out to sling an arm around the kid's shoulders. "You tried." She nodded again. "I think it's the most important thing is that you tried...but when it boils down to it, it wasn't your fault. It was that Nega lady's. She had no right to do that to someone..." She trailed off for a moment. "I know saying that isn't gonna bring her back---but---well...if you don't power up again, it's still going to happen to someone, and even if you do it might still happen...but at least when you power up you have a chance, yeah?" She squeezed his shoulders. "That's how I feel about it. Those like us, those who are powered...at least we have a chance now."

Goretti was at least slightly reassured by her arm and he rested against it and sighed. What she said made sense, and he knew that…it just still heart his heart. Like it was a truth he just wasn't ready to accept. But he liked the idea that it was the Negaverse at fault and not him.
He just wasn't ready to be done blaming himself yet.
"Yeah," he finally sighed, nodding. "…You're right. And having a chance to keep ourselves safe—and the ones we love safe—is better than no chance at all. I guess…it's stupid to think that you can save everyone. I mean—it's a great idea!" and an idea that he was still going to cling to. "I want to save everyone. I'm going to try my hardest to save everyone, I think."
The air was a little colder now, but with Sedna next to him, Goretti didn't even seem to mind.
"They're really messed up, aren't they?" he asked; it was a rhetoric question. He was just still having a hard time processing that people could want to do that to another. Accidents, he understood. But deliberately being so awful? He just couldn't wrap his mind around it.
"It's a good thing there are so many of us. I'd hate to know what they'd do if we weren't around to stop them. I just…I know I'm not as strong as I could be. I know I can be stronger. I don't have to be a chibi! But I'm stuck here, for some reason. I always feel stuck. I see what other people have done for themselves, how powerful they've gotten, but I just trudge along and can't get anywhere. I am taking this seriously, I just…"
He faltered. "I just don't know what's left. Or who has the answers I need."

"Right!" Sedna agreed enthusiastically with a nod. That's something she really agreed with---a chance to keep herself, and those she cared about---safe. "Heh...yeah." She also agreed, a bit more quietly at that. "I want to save everyone, too." But physically, realistically, knew she couldn't. It was a point she didn't try to dwell on can with usual 'can do' attitude. She nodded her head a bit. "Yeah. Unfortunately, they are..." Maybe not all? But for the most part... "Definitely! I'd hate to think about what it'd be like if there weren't senshi and knights around---" Or maybe...it was like how it was because there were senshi and knights around for the Negaverse...hrm. This was like some kind of novel plot twist. Sedna's brows furrowed briefly, almost missing what Goretti was saying. Ah. Stuck. Yes. "I felt like that when I wasn't powered...but when you are powered and feeling that way I...." Her own shoulders slumped a bit. "I don't know, either..." She then sat up a bit straighter. "I could try asking Polaris! She's a senshi princess! That has to mean something, yeah!? Or---or I could ask Nico! He's the cat that awakened me---" She stared at Goretti, and shook him a bit by the hold she had on his shoulders. "Don't give up, okay? You'll get there someday, little buddy! If you want something bad enough---you'll do what you can to make it happen!"

Goretti allowed another smile to twitch onto his face. "A princess, huh? That sounds really neat. I don't think I've met one since I've been a senshi, but I'm pretty jealous! I've heard of them. But never met one. Actually—if you could talk to them, that would be great! Or, I can talk to them, but I don't know where to find them," he confessed. "But I really, really need to know. All I think about these days is how to get stronger because there are people in my life who I know aren't powered. Or," he paused and seemed thoughtful.
"…I guess I should say probably aren't powered. My dad, for example. He works so hard, he doesn't have any time to be a Senshi. No—wait, I think he's too old for that. But a Knight, maybe? But he's definitely not the sort to be in the Negaverse, so I don't have to worry about that. Well. Except that means I have to worry about him being attacked by them, so," he sighed, exasperated.
"This whole thing is so crazy and confusing, you know? …I just want to keep him safe. And everyone else, but...I'd die without him. I have to protect him."
He paused and then smiled, as though suddenly hit with a nice thought. He looked up from whatever sight was distracting him so he could focus on her face. "We're gonna be friends, right? You and me?"

"Yeah, I will! I definitely will---" Sedna paused for a moment, her brows furrowing in thought. "Well---I know one of her knights---I'll get in touch with her through him! I'll do that, and then I'll get back to you, okay!? That way you can talk to her, too!" The senshi nodded her head, finding herself in the same boat, honestly (haha, boat, because she was the senshi of ships). She was finding that quite a few people she had budding friendships with were powered. Sedna squeezed the chibi's shoulders again, nodding her head a bit. "Yeah. He's your family and you love him! Guess I'm kind of lucky that my folks are pretty much on the other side of the States..." That was one plus, she thought. She didn't have to worry about them here...she just had to worry about the Negaverse finding something that could lead them there. Sedna was taken out of those thoughts though at his question, and she blinked, focusing on him as she stared for a moment. It was...he was... " You're so cute!" She couldn't help but squeal, having nothing short of a spazz attack at how utterly adorable and endearing that was. The older senshi ended up throwing her other arm around him, and squished him against her in a tight hug. "Of course we are, duh!" She rocked with him a bit, still keeping him wrapped up. "We can exchange senshi numbers---and then right after we can exchange regular numbers too! Because we don't have to be powered to hang out!" Excited didn't even begin to cut it.

Goretti watched the girl for a second and couldn't help but beam at her squeal. "We should!" he agreed, and for a minute he wondered if maybe the key to feeling better was just getting out—finding more people to talk to. People like Sedna who might have been new to the war, but still had good advice to give.
…And now, he wanted to keep her safe, too.
Any doubts he had about powering up were almost all but diminished; he didn't want Sedna to change—ever—and he would do everything he could to keep her the way she was.
Quickly, he pulled out his senshi phone. "I suck with this thing," he said sheepishly, but was easily able to laugh at himself. "It'll be nice to have another friend, though. If we patrol together, it'll be a lot safer. And we can definitely hang out even if we aren't powered, but—I am still just fourteen. Well, almost fifteen. As long as that isn't going to weird you out, though."
But if they hung out together, he could keep an extra eye on her.
…And maybe she could keep him in a good mood, too.
But that seemed easy enough; she made him want to smile—and want to forgive himself.
And want to get stronger.

Sedna released him when he got his phone, and she mimicked his actions, pulling out her own as well. She pulled up the camera, and got ready to take a picture of him. "Say cheese!" She chimed, and waiting for him to reply before she snapped a photo. She'd made sure to duck face for him when he took her's. "Definitely!" She grinned at him. "I've been meeting a handful of senshi, but no one I've been able to connect with to patrol regularly! I'm really glad we can! Oh---pffffft---" Sedna waved a hand at him. "What's weird about it?" She grinned widely at him. "So I got you by a few years? There's still all kinds of things we can do! We can go to the movies, and get milkshakes and smoothies, and play games, and go out to eat, and go for walks and---" She listed off some other things, and then beamed. "One of my friends is four years older than me, and then another friend is well over ten years older than me, but we have tons of fun!" She mused about that and then snapped her attention back to Goretti for a moment before she looked off. Sedna focused briefly, making sure that there was no one around she could see---and sense. There wasn't, so she focused, and in a flash the senshi uniform disappeared to leave Olga sitting on the bench beside Goretti. She gave him another fox eyed grin and a peace sign as she dug into her coat and reached into her flannel for her iPhone. Kyuseisha no Hikari /holds Goretti to my bosom 5ever
