Some people thought gardening was only for spring and summer. People who thought that were not gardeners. Or maybe Evalia was just a little bit fanatic when it came to her garden.
Of course, Eva was a student of the sciences, specializing in science. So... she literally had the excuse she could obsess over her garden... FOR SCIENCE. Of course the young woman had a lot on her mind, which meant she couldn't sleep well, which mean that the girl who tended to wake up early anyway was out in the garden, before the sun was even really up, covered in dirt, digging clusters of holes into the chilled dark earth, throwing little sad looking balls into them.
What she was doing was planting flower bulbs before the season got to cold and the ground froze over.
What it looked like she was doing was burring a body in the soft light of pre dawn without any witnesses.

Donovan had been out all night. It had been a strange night, a strange few nights, and he had not yet meandered home yet. He was in the suburbs for some reason, though he couldn't remember clearly getting there or why since this was a long way from his apartment. Thankfully Marlin was used to his odd hours as he tried to be quiet and paid his rent in full and on time each month.
He passed by Eva's house by chance and recognized it because he had walked her home once from the Home Depot. She had seemed like a nice enough girl, much too nice for him, but he had enjoyed her company all the same. He smiled at the thought of her, thinking it might be nice to see her again. He certainly couldn't wake her this early, hell, the sun wasn't even out, but soon maybe.
He dug in his pockets for a piece of paper and found a bar receipt. He scribbled a quick note to her and left it at her door. As he began to walk away he seemed to hear some movement from the back yard. He crept closer to the back fence, thinking she might be in danger from a burglar, and spied someone digging in her back yard. They were hunched over so he had no idea who it was.
"Hey!"
He burst through the gate striding angrily toward whoever it was for disturbing his friend's peace and possibly doing much more to answer for.
