The brunette woke to a feeling more familiar than she'd like. Sluggish...which meant she'd been drugged. Heavily drugged, since the normal dose didn't work well on her. She'd be sick soon from the effects. A blindfold over her eyes, and the shaking beneath her. Her hands on her stomach, bound together, probably with silver chains. She was being transported. The silver burned her wrists as easily as a cross would. She couldn't help the wince of pain, alerting the people in the car she was awake. They argued over whether to dose her again, but the driver said they were already so close to the house it wasn't worth the trouble.

Souretsu wanted to struggle and escape, but that wouldn't have taken the blindfold off, or gotten the chain off her wrists. They stopped, the car jerking, and the yokai turned her head to the side, losing her pathetically small meal in the car...and over one of the man's shoes and pants. She smirked to hear the complaints of the man, only getting a punch for her trouble, which made her grunt in pain. It was mostly for humiliation. It made her wish she’d thrown up on his face instead.

She was dragged out of the car, blindfold yanked off, and Souretsu winced as her hair was pulled a bit as well. She was face to face with a door, unable to even look at the building she assumed was a mansion. Her glasses were with her, one of the ear pieces in her shirt, keeping the glasses there. Her vision was blurry without the aid of them, and she felt the nicer of the two guards put her glasses on her face as the meaner one pounded on the door.

The only thing the brunette wanted to do was run. This was the forest! She could survive years in here… All she needed to do was escape… She kicked at the man again, causing him to glare at him, and shove the girl down. She winced to get kicked in the head, stars flashing across her vision. ‘What the hell is he!? No human can manage a kick like that…’ she thought before almost blacking out from the next kick, and the stomp on her stomach. She didn’t think any fangs were broken, but she could taste blood. "D-Damn you..." she growled out, grunting in pain as she took another kick, this one to the stomach. Geez, were they seriously going to kill her, right on the doorstep of the person trying to purchase her?! She just hoped whoever bought her would save her soon.

Hanako sat perched upon the archway above the castle's doors, watching for the slave van to arrive. She had purchased a slave. More for a companion and a friend than anything. If they became friends, perhaps something more would blossom... But she would see what developed in time... The demon queen knew there would be a trust gap at first, possibly for a long time, due to the slave girl being mistreated most, or perhaps all of her life. She heard the exhaust from a van, and could only imagine it was the slave van. Gazing down from her perch, she saw her new companion being forcibly yanked out of the slave van. "Idiots..." She muttered in a low growl, referring to the guards.

If it wasn't enough that the guards had yanked the girl out of their van like an animal; what one of the guards did next was what caused the demon queen to snap. She wasn't going to just watch as the guards injured the girl. Dropping down from the archway in front of the guard that had had been kicking her. The woman stood over the men, standing around two heads taller than them. She began to draw her sword, eyes.narrowed and glowing. "I suggest you take a few good steps back." She growled, getting in front of the girl the guards had beaten, glancing down at her and noticing blood on her face. This enraged the woman as she looked back at the guards in disbelief. "What's your excuse for laying a single finger on this girl? Is it because you're stupid, or cowards? Or perhaps both?" She demanded. "Because clearly she's threatening you; being bound and drugged." She added in a dark voice.

One of the guards stepped towards Hanako, questioning about his pay. And it happened to be the same guard that had been abusing the girl that lay nearly unconscious and bleeding on her stoop. "You want your pay? I believe I can manage that..." She replied. The guard looked to his friend and grinned, feeling as if he got away with murder. But as he turned back to the demon queen, he was met with a swift kick to his stomach, sending him flying back and into the concrete archway she had been perched on. With the speed only a vampire could manage, she lunged and swung the blunt end of her blade into his stomach, causing the guard to spit up blood. "I should kill you, and would find great joy in doing so, but fortunately for you, I have company. Now why don't you take the fact you're leaving with your lives as your 'pay', and be grateful." She hissed, before sheathing her sword as the guards scrambled for the van. She hurried to the girl's side and knelt down beside her, inspecting her wounds. She frowned, gingerly lifting the girl bridal style, carrying her into the castle and kicking the door shut with her foot. Bringing her over to a long sofa, she carefully laid her down. Quickly removing the silver cuffs from the girl, she moved her hand from the burns to the wounds, her hand glowing faintly as she healed the girl's injuries, hoping to ease the pain the girl was feeling. "Is there anywhere else you're injured that needs attention?" She asked in a much softer voice than she used with the guards. "I'm sorry about the guards...They can't follow simple instructions not to drug you and to bring you here unharmed..." She sighed, muttering: "What idiots..."

{{OoC: No problem! ^__^

Sorry for the wait, been really sick

Sourestu hadn’t noticed the woman until she dropped down. She knew this woman was her mistress immediately. Even more so…she was a demon, like Souretsu. Would she be more sympathetic to her? Maybe refrain from abusing her? She watched her rant at them, somewhat amused. What she also liked as the other was referring to her as a girl. Not as a slave, or her property. She was still pissed about being bought, but she wasn’t considering making a run for it. It would be in vain, anyways. She wasn’t in any condition to run. Not with her head still spinning like this. She managed a choked laugh to see the slaver get kicked in the stomach, then hit. He deserved much more, but it was a start. Souretsu wished that she could kick him herself, but this woman’s revenge would do.

She watched them run off, the hurt one stumbling. Now they were alone… Souretsu turned her attention to the woman, hoping this new mistress wasn’t an abusive one. She winced to be picked up, and had no choice but to let the other carry her. She was laid on the couch, and her eyes widened as the silver cuffs were taken off. It must have hurt just to touch them, so why…? Soon she felt herself being healed, and she watched the red burns on her wrist fade away. There was a faint redness of long healed burns, showing they had bound her several times with silver, knowing it burned her. She felt other injures healing, the ones the guards inflicted, and a few other wounds not yet healed.

She furrowed her eyebrows. “Why are you being so nice?” she asked, almost suspiciously. "I mean, I'm glad I'm not getting whipped or raped right now, but...why?" Souretsu had heard of nice masters, of course, but it had seemed like a thing of fantasy to girls like her, chosen for rebelliousness. "I know there are nice masters out there, but I'd given up hope that one would choose someone like me. I'm sure you read my file." The record that recommended her for the toughest of masters, ones not afraid of s little spitfire. Being fireproof was also a strong recommendation.

Souretsu stayed on the couch, hands resting on her stomach, which suddenly growled loudly, making the brunette demon frown. Right, she’d thrown up earlier…and her stomach was empty again. She looked over at the woman. "Will I be fed today?" she asked, as if being fed was a rare occasion. It kind of was. She usually got fed every three or four days. The reason? Souretsu was a demon. She could 'take a little hunger' as the guards would say with a sneer.

(I'm glad you're back.
And I do. I think after Souretsu stops being suspicious of everything, that she'll like Hanako a lot.)

A small smile crossed Hanako's features as the girl's wounds were mending quite well, hopefully easing the pain the poor thing had to put up with. The demon queen gave the young woman an odd look as she was questioned why she was being nice. Tilting her head slightly, Hanako frowned a little as the girl went on to saying she was glad she wasn't being whipped or raped. "What sense would it make to harm you? From what I can tell, you've done nothing wrong." The woman replied. "Unless I had the mindset of an idiot like a sadist whom enjoys the pain and suffering of others, which I don't... What would doing harm to you do anything to cause you to trust me? Even just a little?" She asked, smiling as the last of the girl's wounds mended together.

"I see no purpose in hurting someone innocent of any wrongdoing." She continued. "And as far as I can tell, those guards were the only ones guilty of wrongdoing by harming you." She added with a soft smile. "I know it may take a while to earn your trust or friendship, but that is what I wish to do. I didn't bring you to harm you or treat you as a slave or underling. Believe it or not, I brought you here to be a friend. An equal..." She continued, meeting the girl's eyes with her own. A wide grin crossed Hanako's face as the girl said she had given up hope anyone would take her in. "Well, if I planned on using someone as a slave... I would have brought a completely submissive, rule following pushover to be my maid. However, in a companion, I looked for someone who has a mind of their own.. Someone who had less of a chance of being taken in due to that, and someone who could speak to me with blunt honesty without fear." She added. "And from what I can tell, you're no pushover. You don't seem afraid of me, and your file seemed as if we could get along." She continued. "You seem like an interesting individual, Souretsu. That, is why I brought you here. Not as a slave, not as a maid, but as a companion.. A friend.. I know that it may take a while for you to believe me, but I truly don't want you here to be my slave."

A warm, understanding smile crossed the demon queen's features, chuckling as the girl asked if she would be fed today, followed by her stomach growling loudly. "Of course, of course! What kind of host am I? Babbling on without offering you nourishment..." Pausing, Hanako looked at Souretsu. "So tell me... What do you like to eat? I love to cook, and I have a major load of recipes I've memorized... I would be happy to prepare anything you're craving or haven't had in a long time... I don't personally like raw fish, such as sushi ... I'm more of a pasta and chicken or meat type person. Chicken stirfry with fried rice is one of my specialties.. Of course I'll leave dinner choice up to you, tonight."

Smiling as she waited for a response, Hanako gestured Souretsu after her, towards the kitchen. "At least let me offer you something to drink whilst we decide on dinner." She added.

{{OoC: Haha, I hope she will like Hanako. ^__^
Hanako is generally a very warm, kind-hearted woman. But she does have a bit of an assassin problem. I figured there could be an attack at some point, and Hanako could save her new companion. Or the other way around. Hehe.. xD}}

Souretsu narrowed her eyes a bit, as if trying to assess if the other was telling the truth. “I’m not trusting you right away. The ‘I’m your friend’ act has been pulled on me a few times…but I do hope you’re telling the truth.” She said. The most Souretsu trusted this woman with right now was healing her wounds, and even with that, she was being wary.

“I wouldn’t call myself innocent.” She said with a smirk. “I mess with the slavers a lot. They want to imprison me, so I’ll make their lives hell. Only problem is there’s not much I can do from inside a cage.” She shook her head lightly. What Hanako said made sense, though. If she wanted a maid, she’d go with a pushover, who was already broken. Even though some chose Souretsu specifically to break her. It was seen as a challenge, to break down someone strong. “Well, you’ve got blunt honesty and no fear, no problem.” She said. “Friendship will take a while. At least you’re a demon. It makes it easier.”

Finally the brunette sat up a little. “Um..anything. I’m not picky.” She said. After a few seconds, she said “I like apples. They’re my favorite.” She looked away as if revealing that little fact about her was embarrassing to reveal. “I also like deer meat. It reminds me of home….”

(I like the idea of Souretsu saving Hanako. It'll bond them a little bit more. Though I think one should walk in on the other to create an embarrassing/cute moment.)

Hanako chuckled as the girl said she wasn't trusting her right away, and expressed that in the past she had been told the same thing, and that promise had most likely been broken."I don't expect friendship and trust to form in a day... I know those types of things take time and effort on my part to prove I'm not a crazed sadistic type of person." She replied with a slight smile as she healed yet another bruise. Nodding as the girl replied that she hoped the demon queen was telling the truth, Hanako smiled slightly. She could tell that this girl had been through a lot, and that it affected her way of trusting others. But hey, what type of girl would trust someone right away? Especially a girl that had been in a slave market. That would make anyone wary of being given empty promises. "I'm completely aware of the fact most people who call innocent girls or boys 'slaves' are the ones who are most likely to make empty promises and then treat them like crap." She added. "That is why I don't answer to the title 'mistress', and won't refer to you as 'slave' or anything of the sort.." She paused momentarily. "Just call me Hanako." She continued, before looking towards the staircase. "Riku should have shown up by now..."

Hanako turned back to Souretsu and smiled slightly. "Riku and I have a long history. We met fighting opposite sides of the war between our realms. We formed a bond during the war.. She's like a daughter to me." She explained, looking towards the staircase again. "She'll probably show once food's involved." She added with a chuckle. Smirking as Souretsu said she wouldn't call herself innocent. "I would have done the same thing. Being in a cage would tick anyone off. Especially those with minds of their own."

Smiling as the girl sat up and said she wasn't picky in what she ate, before admitting she likes apples. "If you're willing to be patient and you like sweets, I could make caramelized apple pie. I have a knack for baking.."

{{OoC: I'm so so sorry for the wait! I've been sick and my doctor's been adjusting my depression medication nonstop. It makes me really depressed and unfocused. I'm trying to get back into things. ^^
& I agree! Hanako hasn't mentioned she's a demon queen who assassins often target. It would make for an exciting fight. ^_^ }}

Souretsu sighed, glad the other wouldn’t expect trust and friendship so soon. Good. Souretsu had the feeling it could take quite a while. In the meantime, she was letting the other heal all these injuries. Now the girl could sit up, glad to not feel constant pain. There were still twinges from scars that healed bad, but she didn’t think anything could be done for those. She tilted her head to hear the other didn’t use the word ‘slave’. “In that case, could you take off this collar? It is the symbol of a slave.” In a way, this was a test. If Hanako wanted a companion, not a slave, she’d take off the collar that Souretsu had been jerked around by all these years.

Then she blinked to hear this new girl called Riku….to find she was like a daughter to Hanako. Interesting. She wondered if Riku was interested in Hanako, and got ‘friendzoned’ in a way. She’d seen this process enough times to know what it was…and had it explained to her by a dejected noble, when Souretsu seemed confused as to why he wasn’t satisfied by a friend. She did nod when Hanako mentioned being in a cage would tick anyone off. And Souretsu certainly had her own mind.

To hear the other would make apple pie if she was patient, Souretsu nodded quickly. She’d wait for hours if it meant apples at the end. Apples and sweets combined…that was a dream come true! Apple pie, especially. Her mother used to make it for her all the time, seeing how much her daughter loved apples.

(I hope you get better quick. *hug of support*
True. Souretsu could get a little beat up in it, and Hanako could help heal her up. I think Souretsu would go a little too far with the fight, end up roasting all the assassins when they start to get the better of her.)

Hanako smiled warmly at the girl as she asked if the collar could be removed. Nodding, she reached towards the collar and underneath it, snapping the lock in two, causing the collar to fall to the girl's lap. Grinning, Hanako spoke in a half-joking voice about the collar. "If you want to throw it into the fireplace and watch it burn, I'll completely support that decision." She half-joked. The woman almost expected the girl to do just that, but would wait to see her reaction. She patted Souretsu's hand as she rose to her feet from her knelt down position when she was healing the wounds. "Well, that should patch you up. Now, why don't I start up on preparing supper and the promised apple pie?" She suggested with a warm smile. Looking towards the staircase that led to the bedrooms upstairs, Hanako called out for Riku. A few moments passed before a response was heard.

"I'm coming!"

Hanako smiled and looked to Souretsu, nodding. "Riku will be with us momentarily. She's easily startled, so try not to be offended if it takes a while for her to get used to you." She informed her. Starting to walk towards the kitchen, Hanako stopped for a second and looked back at Souretsu. "Would you like something to drink whilst I prepare supper?" She asked. As Hanako waited for an answer, a girl whom looked around the human age of sixteen arrived, stumbling down the staircase. Looking to Hanako, the girl didn't seem to notice Souretsu, until Hanako gestured to her. "We have a new guest." Hanako stated with a smile. Riku was literally standing beside the sofa, so as it just registered she was standing beside a stranger, she jumped back with a slight: "Eek!"

She then facepalmed and regained her composure, smiling nervously at the new arrival. "S-sorry.. I didn't expect to see you right there next to me." She bowed slightly in apology, before straightening up, blushing a bit out of embarrassment. "A-anyway.. My name is Riku..." She informed her. "Y-you must be Souretsu... Hana mentioned you would arrive today.."

Souretsu smiled to feel it fall off onto her lap. Instead of the fireplace...Souretsu decided to burn it a different way. She took the collar into her free hand, and clenched her scarred fist, and watched the collar erupt into flames, and she burned it until there was nothing left. She sighed in what could be relief. Her neck was cold without that layer, however hated. She felt a million times better, her injuries healed and several fresher, smaller scars gone. She nodded, managing a tentative smile at the sound of supper and apple pie. "I have to say, this is the best house I've been in so far."[/color She said. Clearly she wasn't ready to trust them just yet, but she wouldn't act cold or suspicious towards them. At least not unless they did to her.

Then she heard the voice of this Riku character. Souretsu nodded at the mention of something to drink. She probably inhaled a couple clouds of dust out there when she was knocked down. "Just water is fine." Almost as soon as she was done saying that, a girl that looked even younger than her stumbled down the steps. Which meant there was a strong chance she was much older than her appearance. The other eeped when she finally noticed her. Sourestu nodded. "I am. Nice to meet you." she said to Riku. Souretsu was a bit embarrassed about having a ton of dirt on her from the shop and the scuffle outside. Her first thing to do was wash...did she have time before dinner? "Is there enough time for me to take a shower, or something?" she asked, sitting up, surprised at the lack of pain, though she shouldn't be.

(Ah, you get migraines too? I totally get it. Those are the worst things, especially when you can't get out of doing something.)

Hanako smiled warmly at Souretsu as she burned the collar to ashes, not seeming to mind the ash dust that ended up making a light pile on the floor. Taking a wipe from the desk, she knelt down and dusted up the ash, into the napkin, before rising and tossing it into a nearby garbage bin. "There we go! Leftover ashes in the garbage where they belong." the demon queen announced cheerily. A happy look sparked in the woman's eyes as Souretsu said that this was the best house she's been in so far. "I'm glad to hear you say so, dear. I truly hope you will stay with Riku and I, here in our home. Because this is your home as well now. And to be honest... I did look over your profile and you seemed like you would be happiest in a place that you could thrive in, and be happy in.. And a secluded castle, an almost endless forest to explore... Freedom to explore the castle, the forest and all the nature around us.." She continued, a warm smile on her features as she explained this.

Riku blushed as she heard the new arrival say it was nice to meet her. Nodding awkwardly, she smiled and bowed slightly. "N-nice to m-meet you too." She replied, stuttering a bit out of nervous habit from first impressions and just having met Souretsu. She only turned redder in the face as she heard a light chuckle come from Hanako. She knew her mother-like figure liked to tease her when she blushed, or stammered. To her relief, Hanako merely smiled at her and didn't bring up and point out that Riku had blushed AND stammered. Nodding as Souretsu said water was fine to drink. "I-I'll get you some bottled water." Riku replied, scurrying over to a small fridge meant for drinks that was beneath the island counter in the kitchen. Taking a chilled, nice and refreshing cold water bottle from the fridge, she smiled and returned to Souretsu, extending it to her with a light embarrassed pink blush across her face. "U-um.. H-here you go.." She said in a soft, unusually shy voice.

Hanako smiled, forcing back the itching urge to playfully tease Riku about her stammering and flushed expression, but held back on commenting as she knew that wouldn't help anything, and would just fluster the poor girl further. Snapping out of her thoughts, Hanako gasped and face-palmed as Souretsu asked if there was time for her to wash up. "Of course, dear! I'm so sorry, I should have realized! I'll show you where your room and washroom is." She offered with yet another warm smile. Looking to Riku, the demon queen nodded. "If you don't mind, Riku, could you start peeling apples for the pie? I'll be returning to help once I show Souretsu to her room and where everything is." She asked. Riku nodded and smiled. "Sure, Hana..." She replied cheerily, looking to Souretsu. "I realize you must not have any extra clothes to wear, and you look around the same size as me, so feel free to help yourself to whatever you like that's in my closet.. We'll get you your own wardrobe soon enough, we just want to make sure you're settled in and at least have something to wear in the meantime that doesn't remind you of the slave warehouse, as those days are over." She offered with a soft smile. Hanako smiled approvingly and patted Riku's shoulder. "You're a gem, Riku. I'm glad you're around Souretsu's size, because I doubt my kimono or my size would fit her, or be comfortable for her. Unless of course... Oh! I know exactly what would fit her!" She said almost overexcitedly.Looking to Souretsu, Hanako smiled sheepishly at how excited she had become so suddenly, and hoped that Souretsu knew she wasn't thinking pervertedly. "Don't worry, it's nothing revealing or embarrassing looking. And if you don't like it, you can pick from Riku's closet. But I did have an idea.." She said, gesturing the other after her as Riku went to get the apples to peel.

Leading Souretsu up the carpeted staircase, she led her to the room she had designed especially for Souretsu's arrival. Smiling at Souretsu as they arrived at a beautiful ornate dark brown door, with a vine-like decoration made from what looked like gold plated vines hanging to spell out Souretsu, a letter carved into each wooden carved leaf. "I kindof went overboard decorating, but I figured that since you enjoyed nature, I'd personalize your door and room's decoration. The vines with the leaves that spell out your name I made myself." She admitted with a slightly shy looking smile. "I hope you do like how I decorated the room, though. Feel free to move things around." She opened the door, revealing a beautiful and spacious bedroom with a walk-in closet and a door that connected Souretsu's room with her own. "The door over there connects our rooms, but feel free to lock it if you feel uncomfortable. I wouldn't creep in on you, but I understand that you won't trust us right away. But your room is your sanctuary. Your own place. It's yours to do what you want with." She added. "Anyhow, you have your own master bath with a nice shower, a nine jet bathtub, double sink, and there's plenty of scented soaps and shampoos to use, so go crazy. There are also necessities such as a comb, brush, toothpaste and fresh toothbrush, deodorant and body sprays." She offered with a smile. "I'll leave the outfit I think you'll like on your bed, and there's towels in the cupboard in the washroom." She added, patting Souretsu's shoulder and retreating after Souretsu shut the washroom's door. She went to her own closet and found a deep dark shade of crimson oversized off the shoulder sweater, and some black leggings from Riku, along with some new underclothes she hadn't worn yet, and some ankle socks, in case Souretsu was generally cold body-heatwise. The demon queen dropped the clothes off on Souretsu's bed, before leaving the room and closing the door after her to give the girl some privacy to wash without worry. She hoped Souretsu would like the outfit, as secretly the woman had knitted the soft alpaca fur sweater, herself. It was soft as anything, warm, yet still breathable. As she entered the kitchen, she had Riku begin to prepare a hearty meal of spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, homemade marinara sauce, and since Riku had gotten as far as preparing the pie crust, Hanako added cinnamon and nice brown sugar, along with the apples and then adding the pie crust on top, adding it to the oven and seating herself at the island counter, letting it bake as they finished cooking and waited for Souretsu.

Souretsu was feeling a bit better in this place. Hanako and Riku seemed very nice. She was still on guard, of course, but decided to enjoy this while she could. She always enjoyed the 'friendly' act, but told herself not to get too used to it. Just in case they were lying. At least these two knew Souretsu didn't trust them right away...and probably wouldn't for a while. She hoped this was the truth this time. After all, Hanako was a strong woman, able to handle someone strong as Souretsu. Her being kind to a violent pet like her wouldn't be much of a stretch. The other was correct, though, in thinking Souretsu would be happy here, able to be in a forest castle, away from others who would harm her, able to explore the nature around her, having all this room to explore.

She smiled a bit at Riku's stuttering and blushing. It was kind of adorable. The girl gave off the impression of being much younger than she appeared. "Thank you." she said when she got the water, draining it in a few gulps. The girl had clearly been very thirsty. Hungry too, if her thinness was any indication. Souretsu had always been a slender girl, but even demons had their limits on how much hunger they could take.

Thankfully, Souretsu was then led upstairs, looking a bit surprised to be able to stand already, but remembered she'd just been healed. Right. She was used to constant pain. Now it was just malnutrition...and the pain of memories. Hopefully both would heal quickly. The room She was brought to was beautiful. She had been in many different types of rooms, but this one suited her well. Even if purple wasn't her favorite color. She'd been silent the whole talk about clothing, but was curious. At least she was Riku's size if the other clothes didn't work. Hanako's clothes wouldn't fit her, that was clear by the height difference. The other demon was taller than Souretsu by quite a few inches, her limbs longer as well.

"I like the room. Thank you." she said before going into he bathroom, and taking the longest, hottest shower of her life. It would have scalded and boiled those without fire, but Souretsu loved it. She rarely took showers this hot, but she needed it this time. She took her time in washing her body and hair, feeling clean again for once, brushing her teeth as well. She found herself smiling, almost wanting to sing again. She realized she did have to leave the shower, and eventually got out, with some reluctance, and dried off with the towel, then finding the clothes. Truthfully the towel wasn't needed, as Souretsu could dry off with her powers, which was how she dried her hair. It was so long, it was a pain in the @ss to try any other way. She slipped on the clothes, smiling as she did so. Warm clothes, finally! And it felt so nice. She went down to the dining room, following the wonderful scent of apples. Souretsu had even got to clean her glasses, and her green eyes sparkled a bit, her slight smile showing a hint of mischief. She was a bit of a prankster, alright, and would probably get back into that when she was more comfortable around the two.

The brunette looked between the two. "Do I...look okay?" she asked, almost self conscious. She'd normally be nervous about wearing clothes like this...but it was just two women with her. And generally Souretsu found women had better control with their urges. Not that the two looked like they'd try anything on her anytime soon.

(Hey, at least you're feeling better now. I've been good, staring a new semester at school, but I'm on antibiotics. I caught bronchitis again. I have a weak immune system, and I tend to get sick easily.)

Humming a cheerful tune as she finished preparations for supper, setting out glasses for drinks, Hanako heard the water shut off from the kitchen and smiled, sitting on a stool by the island counter as she waited for Souretsu to appear in the kitchen, hoping the girl would like the clothes she had laid out for her, and that they fit her alright. Riku looked to Hanako as she noticed the demon queen seemed deep in thought. Smiling a small smile, herself, Riku piped up. "She seems like a nice girl." Riku said in her sweet voice, smiling at Hanako, before pausing, looking down. "I hope she will be happy with us..."

Hanako turned to look at Riku, seeing that the vampire seemed unsure of Souretsu being with them. Smiling, the demon queen rose from the stool, before approaching the younger woman, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure it will take time for her to trust us, but I, also hope she will be happy here." She replied softly. "If I remember correctly, you were wary of me when we first met during the wars between the realms. But you learned to trust me; and now we have a bond stronger than most that are related by blood. I'm sure Souretsu will also trust us in her own due time." She added with a smile, lifting Riku's chin so their eyes met and gently brushing the tears from her cheek with her thumb. "No tears now, dear... I don't like to see my loved ones upset." She sighed, kissing Riku's forehead.

The girl smiled, nodding and wiping the remaining tears from her eyes. "You've always been like a mother to me, Hana... I couldn't imagine having not met you..." Riku said softly, smiling shyly. Hanako chuckled, pulling Riku into a warm embrace. "I have always wanted a daughter. Someone to protect and care for.. But you are so much more important to me than you realize." The demon queen replied gently."Don't ever doubt your worth, okay?" A small shy smile formed on Riku's face as she happily returned the embrace. She sensed Souretsu returning to the kitchen and released Hanako, smiling as she gestured to the food which was sitting on the stove's warmer. "She's returning. We should place the food out." Riku said, a little shyly, prompting Hanako to smile and nod. Putting oven mitts on, Hanako opened the oven and took out the pie, setting it to cool on the counter. Riku took the rest of the meal and placed it on the table, along with serving spoons.

Hearing Souretsu's footsteps, Hanako smiled and turned to see the girl in the doorway. Her smile only grew in size and warmth as she saw how nice Souretsu looked in the oversized sweater, and found it adorable when Souretsu self consciously asked if she looked okay. "You look beautiful, dear." She replied genuinely. "In all honesty, I was worried you wouldn't like it. But I'm glad to see my worries weren't necessary." She continued. "We can go to the village at a later time, if you would like to pick out some clothes you like, personally. But for now, you may feel free to raid the closets and find outfits you like." She offered with a soft smile. Riku turned to Souretsu as well, a warm smile on her face.

"It looks very nice on you, Souretsu..." She said with a nod, before gesturing to the table. "Now, why don't we all partake in having supper...?" She suggested. "Afterwards, there's the apple cinnamon pie that Hanako prepared especially for you." She added. Hanako smiled and gestured for Souretsu to pick her seat. "Go on and sit where you like, dear. And feel free to serve yourself as much as you'd like. I'm sure you're very hungry." She said warmly, sitting at one of the four seats at the table. Riku sat on one of the seats across from Hanako, and the pair waited for Souretsu to take her seat,smiles gracing both of their faces.

{{OoC: Sorry for making you wait... I'm going through the loss of a very close family friend... She had a stroke and then 2 days later she passed away.. }}

Souretsu was unaware of the transaction between the two demons, but when she came downstairs, she blinked at first to be told she looked beautiful, before she found herself smiling. It sure felt genuine. She was used to the fake throwaway compliments most used, especially when they had ulterior motives. Though there was nothing in sight to be gained, it seemed. Nothing immediate, anyways.

The demon shrugged. “I usually like dark, warm clothing. Other than that, I’m not very picky. I can’t afford to be, since I’ve more or less had that old outfit since I was little.” She said. The thought of going to a village, interacting with people…secretly it terrified her, but she had to be brave, pretend to be unaffected. That was how she lived so long, not letting things get to her. If she had to look cold and heartless…so be it. It looked like it hadn’t sapped her soul away yet.

Souretsu’s stomach growled again as she sat down, making her remember her hunger. She sat down, and was glad to pile food on her plate, mostly meat, but adding some other things as an afterthought. She needed other food groups too. She remembered her mother always telling her that when Souretsu had proclaimed one day she only wanted to eat meat and candy. She wished she could go back to those days, when her biggest concern was bedtime and lessons.

When she could finally talk again, after her stomach being a little full, she looked at the two. "If you don't mind me asking, were you born here or in Hell? If your ancestors originated in hell, that is." Souretsu asked. She knew her own were from hell, but Souretsu had been born and raised on Earth, as had her mother and her siblings. Her grandparents had been the ones to move to Earth temporarily, but they were probably in Hell once again. They never did like Earth life as much.

Hanako smiled warmly as she noticed Souretsu smiling after she complimented her on how she looked. Hanako nodded as the girl expressed that she preferred dark, warm clothing, smiling at her. Noticing instantly a change in the other woman's expression, that it turned to fear for half a moment, Hanako paused, before speaking in a reassuring tone. "Don't worry too much about the village. It's not even big enough to be considered a village. Just a few shops." She replied with a smile. Tapping her chin thoughtfully, the demon queen added: "Now that I think about it, there's a pastry shop that just opened up. And if I remember correctly, it's run by an elfin couple."]/color] Riku smiled, looking to Souretsu and nodding. "The village is small, because the people who live in this area are all from different realms and are different species..The tailor's and clothing shop is run by a half demon and half kitsune family, and they're very kind, warm and welcoming." Riku added. "You won't have to worry about human's harsh judgmental ways. There is a human family, but they treat everyone as kindly as anything."

Hanako nodded. "Indeed. The entire area and it's residents have no fear of their neighbors. I think you'll fit right in, as they've welcomed us with open arms as well." She agreed. Pausing for a few seconds, she tapped her chin and spoke again. "If all else fails, we can go to the specialty tailor that helps me with my clothing in the castle of my realm. Of course my return may prompt a bit of an outburst... I haven't been on the throne for quite a while." She offered.

Smiling as Souretsu took what she wanted to eat, and began to eat, Hanako watched her happily, an almost motherly expression on her face. She enjoyed when people liked her cooking, and to see Souretsu eat so enthusiastically made her feel proud and happy to have been able to cook for her. "How is it? Not overdone, I hope." She questioned. The demon queen's expression dropped to a little bit of an awkward looking sheepish smile as the girl asked if she had been born on earth or in hell. "It's a bit complicated, actually... I was born in the demon realm. My father was the demon king and my mother was a vampire queen. She never told him about being a vampire, however, living with him under the impression she, too, was a demon." She replied, pausing as a slightly sad expression crossed her features and she folded her hands in her lapa "When I was born, my mother was discovered as a vampire. My father held back the feelings of rage and betrayal.. Until I was old enough to be my own individual person, he treated me as a mistake. Never paid any attention to me... He and my mother got into a heated fight one night.. And I witnessed him murder her, prompting a war between the vampire realm and the demon realm. I took my mother's side, and in the ongoing fighting, I met Riku. She had been injured, and I was able to heal her wounds. We became close, and I told her my sad story. We hatched a plot to exact revenge on my father, to kill him and end the war." She explained with a pained voice, looking down slightly. "To make a long story short, my plan failed. We were captured, to be executed for treason... But my father took pity on me and spared us.. After he died, I had to choose which realm to rule over. I chose the vampire realm in honor of my mother, but that sparked a controversy between realms, earning me enemies from both sides. I try to run both realms, to keep things calm between them so another war will not break out.. Eventually I did pick someone to run the vampire realm, as I knew the vampires would not accept me due to my demon features, whether I was a hybrid or not. So I took over the responsibilities to run the realm I had grown in. The demon realm. There had been so much drama that I couldn't take living in a castle and giving orders... I eventually gave that throne up as well. But when I chose the realms new queen, I chose my cousin to rule. She and I are on good terms, so she allows me access to the castle and realm, still." She sighed and finished. "In the end, I just decided to live in this world. On Earth. I've been more accepted here than anywhere else in my life." She admitted. "I am a hybrid, in case that was unclear... But I do enjoy living here most of the time. The occasional assassin or hired kidnapper do try to pull things on me. This is why I live away from the village, hidden in the forest. I do have protective shields, and I have secret hidden rooms, which I will show you the entrances to enter them, after supper. They come in handy if there is an intruder. The castle has many hidden corridors, underground rooms, and a hidden doorway that leads to a dojo and weapons room. I train quite often, there."

"If I may ask, is there a form of fighting or preferred weapon type you are skilled with?" She asked. "Or if you need training with a type of combat?"

{{OoC: Your idea you sent me in the PM sounds great! Maybe the first assassin could be just trying to take Souretsu and do inhuman things to her, and Hanako saves her, but then Souretsu returns the favor when the first assassin's superior tries to hurt (most likely try to kill) Hanako after knocking Riku unconscious, and thinking that Hanako's only company in the house was Riku, allowing Souretsu to spring a surprise attack and take him down. Whatd'ya think? :3 }}
