With the dawning of a new day Ariya decided she wanted to try making a necklace before heading out. So she sat down at her table and looked around at everything she had. After trying to form a design plan in her mind she reached out for the beads and shells that she intended to use and laid them out in a row. The pattern that emerged was brilliant and made her smile. Perhaps Ariya could make something after all. Feeling a renewed sense of determination she worked tirelessly on stringing her creation together. Knots were made where they were supposed to be and she thought about who to give it to. Maybe her mother would enjoy it. Or if she really felt the need she could give it as a tribute to Aisha. Yes, that would be a good idea. The Mother Tree would love to have a gift from one of her daughters. Humming to herself she finished up the last knot and grinned widely at her accomplishment. Yes!

As she lifted the necklace up off the table the string broke. There had been too much weight on it. Staring at the dangling pieces Ariya frowned and felt her antennae droop. If that didn't make her give up she wasn't sure what would. In a fit she gathered the failure in a fist and threw it rather harshly at the table. Shells broke into smaller pieces of themselves and the beads bounced as Ariya got up and walked away from the crafting area. For now she didn't want to look at anything related to her inability to make something so simple.
