A small sigh escaped her as she relaxed a bit. She'd managed to escape from the radaku that she'd come across earlier, though she still had the wound on her shoulder that she needed to get looked at. Or at the very least washed out. The Alkidike was busy poking at her shoulder when she walked face first into a string of web that caused her to stop and cringe. Ugh! Her hand went from poking to wiping and almost frantically. Dem didn't like the feel of the web on her skin. It made it crawl a little. Moments later her antennae gave a small wiggle as she caught the sound of may legs hitting the ground behind her. Wait a moment! Web. Leggy sounds. A groan passed her lips as her bug-like appendages gave a bit of a sag. Her blood must have attracted them. That or the movement she caused in their webbing.
Turning around V'demhe came face to face with three very leggy Menzuri. One of Jahaur's deadliest creatures. "Like spiders to a fly." She mumbled to herself. Still, there was nothing she could do about it now. They knew she was there and had spotted her. So she grabbed for her blades for the second time in a single day. More than she'd had in the passing weeks since the battle. "Come on then.." Her words came out harsh and impatient.
As if understanding and obeying an order one of the crystal bugs shifted to the left then came at her quickly, spitting poison at her to try and incapacitate her. V'demhe jumped out of the way and watched as the vile fluid soared past her to land on the ground. "Well that was rude.." The young blade made the comment about the creature's manners as she looked back in time to see one lanky leg coming at her head.
"Whoa." Dem barely moved her face away in time and afterward she moved to retaliate. She needed to go on the offensive here. She couldn't toy around with these beasts as she had the Radaku. So instead she swiped her dual blades at the long legs that allowed the Menzuri to move. The first one was easy. She was right there and it was trying to right itself from it's previous attack. So when she took it down it didn't know what hit it. The amazon made sure to cut into the bug and take the head, an extra precaution against it getting back up and spitting more of that nasty poison at her.
Sadly she didn't take into account that these buggers had good aim and a decent range. Poison hit her on the cheek and splattered over her face, getting some in her eyes. With a cry of surprise she wiped at the liquid with the back of one hand frantically, hoping she was in time to stall it's effects. "Rotting roots!" V'demhe cursed aloud.
When she heard the bugs moving she blinked her pure black eyes to see where they were but already the poison was taking hold and her vision swam. And boy what a sight she did see. The crystal shone brightly and colors seemed to come alive before her. This caused her to go wide eyed, adding to her bug-like appearance, and she stumbled backward. Knowing that she would be next to useless in a few more moments she turned and did her best to evade them. Only, the forest and sounds were starting to toy with her head. The glow of mushrooms made shadows look like living things and anything that moved had a psychedelic effect on her mind.
Swaying on her feet even as she rushed to escape, she could be seen grabbing onto a tree trunk and swiveling her head as though she were drunk. Dem's eyes would widen then squint in intervals of varying seconds before she made a decision to run again. Knowing that she was being affected did little to help her. So her best bet was to move as sporadically as she could, which wasn't all that difficult to achieve, and pray she out ran them or found someone willing to hide her.
With things amplified or making no sense to her influenced mind V'demhe zig zagged her way through the dark forests until she managed to escape her pursuers and practically fall into a small village. Once on the ground the world spun around and she rolled slowly and clawed at the earth. If she remembered any of this she would make sure to avoid this village in the future, as well as any Menzuri she spotted.
