Vivienne unlocked the front door of her apartment, letting out a soft sigh, relieved to finally be home, eight o'clock at night. Four days a week, she worked as an assistant manager at a popular restaraunt that was only a five minute drive away from where she lived. She normally only worked the day time, but today she had gotten stuck with an unwanted 12 hour shift. She didn't bother calling out for Mordecai, her roommate, figuring that he wasn't home, since, normally, he wasn't. He always had a lady friend to occupy his time. Just the thought made her even more irritated than she already was, and she quickly brushed the thought from her mind.
She threw her purse down on the counter before heading to her bedroom, and immediately rearing through her drawers, picking out a pair of pajamas to wear for the night. She settled on a pair of grey shorts and a black t-shirt, trudging slowly to the bathroom and turning on the showerhead. As it heated up, she stripped down, leaving her clothes on the floor and stepping into the shower, abother soft sigh escaping her lips. The rest of her time went by in a blur. Soon, she was stepping out of the shower and drying off, and putting her semi-short blonde hair up into a lazy ponytail. She dressed in her pajamas, and made her way back out to the front area, where the kitchen was, rummaging through the pantry and the refrigerator for something to eat. She settled for a container of Ramen noodles. She impatiently waited as the noodles cooked before sitting down on the sofa in front of the television with her meal. Viv set her food down to cool, browsing through the movies they had, looking for something to watch while she ate. There wasn't anything that she'd hadn't seen, so she settled for a romantic comedy that she liked and Mordecai hated, since she figured he wasn't around. Her stomach growled once she lifted her cup noodles from the coffee table and inhaled the scent, and she soon began to eat as the movie started up.
Even as she watched the movie and ate her food, her thoughts kept reverting back to Mordecai. They'd been friends for many, many years and having been so close, they decided to rent an apartment together. Vivienne thought she would love living with her best friend, but in all reality, it made her life that much harder. She hadn't really understood his addiction until they'd moved in with each other. And she hadn't known that she'd had romantic feelings for the male until they'd already moved in together as well. It was nice to be away from him sometimes, but a lot of the times, she missed his company.
