I just don't like how Elder Maxon is obsessed on destroying the synths. Like when it came to the point with Danse. crying
I liked Elder Maxson... Until that thing with Paladin Danse Then I wanted to shot him with a mini nuke crying
✝Scarlett✝
Oh Boy, love Elder Maxson, E-Max as I calls him. We have similar fashion sense...
and I keep an eye on him when he wants to get turnt...
✝The blood is beautiful, if you think about it✝

I sided with the brotherhood. I kinda agree with them on a lot of things, and they did come from the remains of the U.S. Army. I saved Danse, tho. He's too awesome of a companion to get killed off.

they were good in 3, decent in new vegas (unfortunately put the side like the majority of factions that aren't house, the legion, or the NCR), in 4 though, I odn't really know what I think about them. All the proctors seem fine (teagan especially is a chill guy) but they hate synths, including the escapees. I felt bad for killing teagan, niera, the power armor girl (forgot her name), but killing maxson didn't phase me. Worth it for his awesome coat though. Danse is also a stick in the mud and I don't like him, but he gives you one of the few energy weapons I actually like. I hate energy weapons.
I think we may see another NCR-Brotherhood war in the near future because of Elder Maxson.

Minutemen: Local militia defending local population from raiders and other hostile threats. Good idea, but no formal military training. Ideology is okay, but lack of training and military equipment means they could fall apart.
Brotherhood of Steel: Military gear and training, they have the ability and skills to take on serious threats to the commonwealth. Unlike some other branches of the Brotherhood, Maxson has no problems with civilians using advanced weapons and defenses (so long as they use them responsibly). However, Elder Maxson's branch does not have any place for non-humans.
Railroad: Protecting Synths who want to live a peaceful life is nice. However, they have no interest in helping non-synths. Synths have nobody but the railroad is how they feel. Railroad is not a viable group to protect the commonwealth.
Institute: An organization with great promise for restoring the commonwealth. However, they put scientific advances before human ethics. Because of this, they have earned fear from the local population. Synths killing and replacing people, settlements being purged after a failed experiment. A cure for the FEV virus would be priceless, but many innocents died trying to make it. Because of this their scientific advances are overshadowed by their crimes against humanity.
In an ideal world, these 4 groups could work together as, for a lack of a better term, 4 branches to a government.
1. Minutemen handle basic operations of protecting settlements. Standard threats and soft targets are handled by them.
2. Brotherhood of Steel offer formal military training to Minutemen. High level threats and hard targets are handled by them.
3. Railroad handles processing of Synths in the commonwealth. Records could be kept and synths could be integrated into society without fear of them being controlled by an outside group.
4. Institute can continue scientific advances with oversight by the Brotherhood of Steel. Ensuring technological advances come AFTER human ethics. Synth production is stopped. Perhaps using the synth construction tech to reconstruct missing limbs and other body parts on humans.
Synth production may be useful in the sense that Synths are built using Shaun's DNA, which is undamaged by generations of radiation damage. Including their DNA into the commonwealth population could, in theory, reduce numbers of cancers and other illness caused by radiation damage, over generations.
I wish Bethesda could have had THIS kind of outcome for the end of the game. The Lone Survivor influencing all groups to at least try to work together for the common good.
