Matriarchal society
Only Hyenas are accepted.
Ranks:
Queen [Female only]
The ruler of the pack. She gains this rank by being the strongest hyena in the pack. She may be challenged at any time, most commonly by her daughters.
Princess/es [Female only]
The Queen's daughters. Their duties involve taking care of any pups in the pack. They are the guardians to any of their sisters.
Scribe [Either gender]
These hyenas do not breed. They keep track of the family trees of the pack and the history of the pack.
Grunts [Both genders]
The bulk of the pack. They hunt, tend the dens, and may be called on to defend the pack in times of crisis.

Princesses take care of the young
Males are the workers
Only the queen may breed
Queen can be overthrown - once a month.
Princesses may overthrow the Queen, however non-relatives can also overthrow.
The strongest will become the queen.
(Can increase HP points by 'battles'. Each won battle = .5 HP points.)
Males are not treated badly. They are equal citizens, but because it is matriachal, they cannot challenge for the ruling rank. There is also no king or consort rank. However, a Queen may take a mate, but it just won't change his rank. He is still expected to pull his weight in the pack.
