One little talk did not a calm Peyton make. Everything that had happened, everything that was still happening, left the poor Sun feeling perpetually overwhelmed. Always on the brink of an irreversible breakdown that was one significant change or trauma away. She felt like she was teetering, out of control, and she hated it, though wasn't sure how to fix it. At least not all of it. What she wanted was to regain some measure of control. Or, maybe more accurately, maybe it was a willing relinquish of control. How long had it been since she'd made it down to the training fields? How long had it been since she'd indulged in something a little less tame? It was like an itch. An itch that was easily ignored when everything was going wrong, but things had been evening out lately, creeping back towards something resembling normal, and Peyton couldn't ignore it anymore. So she'd reached out to the person best equipped to help, and she'd made her way past the training field, out into the broken shell of the town. Retracing steps she hadn't taken in a long time now. There were still the dark patches of stains on the pavement near the step she'd taken a seat on, and she glanced down at it as she chewed at the edge of her thumb, waiting.

Finn wasn't sure what made him agree to do this. Things had gotten better for him, though to say that all was normal again would have been a lie. There was always a threat, unseen, always a chance that everything he'd gotten back could be torn away from him again. It put him on edge, interfered with what little sleep he normally got, made him irritable on a level that he tried not to show. So perhaps he too just needed something in his life that he could actually control. Making his way to the town along a path he had at one time known all too well, Finn arrived at their meeting spot at the appointed time, gaze falling to where the woman who had asked him there sat. "Well? Are you just going to sit there? Maybe I should unzip my pants and you can make yourself ******** useful while you're down there." He said, by way of greeting, in all too typical, all too Finn-like way.

Pale eyes jumped up from the blood stains as she heard Finn's boots crunching across the pavement, and she dropped her hand away from her mouth, was ready to greet him with a wane smile before he spoke up first. Instead he'd receive a considering look, the subtle flick of her gaze down from his face in a significant way as brows arched. When she looked up again, head tilting to one side, she smiled at him, cold and just a little suggestive. "Be careful what you ask for Finn." It would have been a lie to say she'd never wondered. A couple of months back, if things had been a little different, she might even have made an offer. The way she was still trying to run from a good thing, it might still, even now, be tempting. Drawing in a breath, the dainty Sun let it out in a resigned sort of sigh as she shook her head and got to her feet, shoulders rolling. "Weapons?" She asked it simply, becuase with him there wasn't a need for any explanation. They'd done this before, they both knew the drill. There was a certain level of trust here, even in the midst of so much violence.

Finn's eyebrows rose, possibly in surprise, but with the usual cold glint in his eye, he definitely just appeared unimpressed instead. The fact that Peyton, of all people, was subtly implying that she might be willing to take him up on his offer, might have been interesting, possibly even tempting....if Finn himself was at all actually serious, instead of just typically a*****e-ish. Snorting, he dug into his pocket, and pulled out a pack of cigarettes while she got to her feet. "Why the ******** should I be careful? Pretty sure a ******** blowy isn't something I would choose to avoid out of caution...unless you were planning on biting my d**k off." His gaze narrowed, and he pulled out a cigarette, placed it between his lips, and lit it up, taking a long inhale, and then cocking his head to the side slightly as he exhaled, his eye closing briefly, and his forehead creasing as if in thought (or perhaps he was just listening to somebody). "You know what, sweetheart? I'd rather not listen to my weapon b***h and whine at me for the rest of the day, so yes, weapons." Without further ado, he summoned his lance.

She gave him a considering sort of look as she chewed on an answer, torn between honesty and snark. Finally she settled on a compromise between the two. "Honestly? Didn't think I was your cup of tea." It didn't seem to be something that bothered her, just a fact. Or what she believed to be a fact. "But I haven't got a whole lot holding me back, so." (Except, perhaps...but she was trying so hard to keep him at arms length.) She shrugged as she stood, palms brushing the backs of her thighs to rid them of whatever dust she might have picked up. A pale brow twitched upward as he summoned his lance, but again she'd shrug, following suit with a mall flash of red runes as she called her daggers. Usually she preferred to play out in towns bare handed, but she supposed there wasn't a whole lot of difference between armed or unarmed. The result was the same, and that was the point. "Weapons it is. Warrick's mighty pleased by that." Pleased enough to give an excited rumble at the back of her mind.

Finn smirked. "I could always close my eye and pretend that you're somebody else." But enough about what would never be. They were both ready to begin, and Finn didn't really feel much need to delay things any longer. Rolling his shoulders in a half assed attempt to loosen up, he hefted his lance into a ready position, tightening his grip on it. "Whenever you're ready, sugar tits." beejoux you already won initiative once >_> XD

"Now where's the fun in that?" The dainty Sun gave a little snort of amusement, head shaking slightly as she sank into a crouch, daggers at the ready. It didn't matter, really, because even if Finn had been willing, she didn't think she could go through with it. Not now, in any case. Whatever she had with Andy, she owed him a little more than that. Manic desire to hold onto something casual aside. She didn't want to alienate him, and that meant not ******** around . < You're thinking much too hard again.> Peyton agreed. Giving her head a small shake to clear it, she charged forward with curved blades flashing. A quick downward jab with the left, followed by a wide arching swipe from the right. If they were going to do this thing, they were going to do it right. HP: 60 DMG:12 CHG: 1/3
