If there was one woman in Chel's life that needed to be addressed, it was the matter of Abigail Killian. One did not forget their confidant and simply brush it aside like it was nothing. This was SERIOUS.
And also they needed to talk about some other stuff.
So Chel arranged for them to travel to a mall on their day off and hoped that their shifts wouldn't be split up in the process. It had certainly happened before, and Chel wouldn't have been surprised if the gods of scheduling were purposely ******** her over.
Being in a mall brought back many memories of middle school, loitering around with her friends for the day (a lot of Hot Topic and Spencer's). She waited on the couch in the middle of the mall (you know the ones), tapping her feet and waiting for Abbi to show up. Hopefully in a cute outfit. She liked Abbi in cute outfits. Would be better without an outift at all-

Given the circumstances of the past few months it was totally understandable that Abbi, for once in her life, was not punctual. In fact, she could very well be labeled as "running late".
The cause of which largely was picking out a cute outfit, which Abbi wanted on her own but also because she knew Chel would enjoy it. Hopefully. Assuming things hadn't gone teacups up, as Abbi liked to put it. Finally, after a lot of deliberating, she chose something simple and short, and hoped it would do the job nicely. After that was a clumsy dab of foundation and mascara in an attempt to hide the fact that she'd been crying, followed by a mad dash to the portal, and finally she had arrived.
It was very tempting to duck into a bathroom and cry some more, something Abbi had been doing a lot of lately. That didn't sit well with her, she never cried, she was too above that, but with Chel more or less gone all her not crying that had been built up over the years caught up with her and refused to be stopped. But she would resist for today and marched her way toward the middle of the mall.
Abbi hadn't really spent a lot of time in malls growing up, she hadn't had the friends who would want to go and shopping wasn't much fun on one's own. The bustle of people she liked, that was nice, so now she wondered if perhaps she ought to visit them more often...
A sighting of pink hair halted all her thoughts as the teen slowed a little in her walk. Freckled hands picked at her clothing to rearrange it then brushed at her hair quickly, then at the few stray tears that had dared make their presence known.
But now was important and Abbi had to be brave!
She jumped into the air and hopped around to the front of the couch with a chipper, "Hi hi!"

Why ... Why had she picked Jack .... Why had she done this thing when Abbi was there and so goddamn cute-
"Well hey," she greeted back, trying to mask the inner turmoil she now had. Her hands met Abbi's waist both in an attempt to stop her from bouncing and in that childish sort of I want to touch it way. It might have been an invitation for a hug, but she wasn't sure if Abbi would want it. "You lookin' good- you dress up just for me?"
She did notice the smudged makeup from Abbi's stray tears. It wasn't noticeable by the average person, but Chel noticed. She refrained from commenting though, lest Abbi grow insecure.
