Dimitri trotted silently through the trees, working his way towards the only place in the lands that ever brought him peace-- the ocean. He needed it right now; the sound of waves crashing against the rocks, the echoing cry of gulls wheeling overhead, the sting of the salty mist that made its way through the holes of his mask. Perhaps it could wash away the memories that once again threatened to overwhelm him. It had only been a few moons since he had returned home for the first time in years. Only a few moons since he came upon his old herd-grounds, finding cracked masks littering the grounds he'd wandered as a foal, only bones left of his family.
He shook his head firmly to banish the images. It did not do to dwell. He was on a journey to join the a grand herd of warriors whose sole purpose was to hunt down the monsters that destroyed his family. Moving on, moving forward, that was all he could do now.
The sound of waves whispered distantly. He would soon break the edge of the trees and see the world disappear into the horizon.

Valeria flew well up above the path he had taken through the trees but she had the same destination in mind as the stallion she had yet to meet. It was just a bit of a detour on the way back to Imladris to visit the other half of her family there. Her mother had brought her here a few times when she was smaller and she had enjoyed chasing the waves in and out as they lapped the shore for hours. Once she was past the last of the trees she circled lower, coming in for a smooth landing on the beach.
It seemed peaceful and bright today, with the light reflecting off the vastness of the water. Once he was free of the forest the waves weren't the only thing that he would see. From his vantage the half angeni might look fairly normal, with her oddities masked by a lengthy mane, equally lengthy curled tail - done up in braids with flowers - and almost ethereal wings. Her head was inclined toward the sun, eyes closed, reveling in the warmth it granted against the crisper ocean winds.Alanna the Pirate Queen Sorry to make you wait a million years. If you don't wish to continue this it is alright.
