Nocturnal Vigilante Ms. Lance.

Sonic Cry "Mr. Wayne." Sara smiles warmly in greeting.

Nocturnal Vigilante "It's been some time. Our last meet seemed rather short, my apologies. What's kept you up all this time?"

Sonic Cry "Every day energetic activities keep me on my feet. That's alright, Bruce. Life seems to be in the fast lane these days. It can be hard to keep up and if you're not careful, life can leave you behind."

Nocturnal Vigilante "I know we all have our days where..we get that bit of slow pace to our walk. Things take a turn for the worse but we manage to turn that around. These weeks haven't been the easiest. How long are you here for?"

Sonic Cry Sara's eyes seemed to sparkle, as she appeared to be locked in an nostalgic moment, "...sometimes there aren't enough of those days." The moment faded as she allowed her gaze to drop down and off to the side. "I can sympathize." With the mentioning of the weeks not exactly being the easiest. Lifting her gaze to meet with Bruce's eyes. Keeping a hold of the eye contact with him before replying. "I'm here for a while." Sara said. She almost followed up with, I'm here unless duty calls. Which can occur at any time.

Nocturnal Vigilante A beep in his pocket alerted the handheld system within. If it was what he thought, Alfred was alerting him of something, what he did not know. Bruce has received many calls back to the Manor, specifically the Batcave. He didn't reach for it, more so hoping she waved it off as nothing important. He'd stare back down at her, like she would do to him. His sharp blew eyes darted back down to his pocket; another beep."This might come off as abrupt but I have a few things to take care back at home. If you're not too busy, I'd like you to come with me; the work shouldn't take long."

Sonic Cry Obviously, someone was trying to contact him. From the muffled beeping sound she heard emitting forth from his coat pocket. Lifting her blue eyes to meet with his. Her mouth fell slightly agape, as though she was about to say something. "This might come off as abrupt but I have a few things to take care back at home. If you're not too busy, I'd like you to come with me; the work shouldn't take long." She smiled before replying, "I'm not busy and I would very much like to join you."

Nocturnal Vigilante The drive back to the manor wasn't very long, not long at all. All the while Bruce sat next to Sara wondering what this impending issue was. The handheld device gave very little information on the situation at hand. Alfred was already at the door, spreading his arms so that they remained opened as the two walked in. "I'll only be a moment. Alfred will see to it that you're treated properly."
Bruce walked past the dark wood corridor, stepping in front of an antique clock. He opened the class casing, pressing a button directly in the middle of the clock. A shrouded stairwell revealed itself behind him. Closing the glass casing, he crept down the steps quickly knowing his guest wouldn't stay long.
"I've taken the liberty of setting up the proper arrangements on the Batcomputer."
The butler was right, everything was all sorted and ready to go. A break in at Ace Chemicals? But who? Bruce enhanced the footage, zooming in on the armed men barging through the doors of the building. Hugo Strange. Of all people. Gordon's men won't be fast enough, they'll be gone by the time they have a response team out there.
The chair rolled out behind him when he rose up from his sitting position. He took a remote from the counter pressing the blue middle button as he walked. Out from the ground, the Batsuit shown in full view in individual pieces. "I don't think I'll be back in time to meet with Sara, Alfred. Make sure she gets whatever she needs." The Batmobile was next to come to life, the platform shifted in his position, facing the exit. The engine revved loudly before shooting off out of the Batmobile and into the road.

Sonic Cry The scenery seemed to blur passed them on the road as Bruce drove them to back to his home. Within minutes the Wayne estate came into view. She had driven by the neighborhood before, but never paid a visit until now. Sara couldn't help but feel something was off. Trading a glance over to Bruce as he pulled into the drive. She could see that he was determined to find out what was so urgent that he needed to return home. Closing the car door behind her, she took a moment to stare in awe. Before realizing it the two of them were ascending the steps leading inside his massive mansion. Smiling towards Alfred as he welcomed the two of them inside. The last mansion she had been in was Oliver Queen's estate. However, this place seemed...bigger. Her attention was cut short when she heard Bruce not just addressing her but Alfred as well. "I'll only be a moment. Alfred will see to it that you're treated properly." Nodding her head towards Bruce as he walked past in haste. Greeting Alfred politely before he too departed the scene. Quirking an eye brow before returning her attention down the long hallway, her wandering eyes falling on one painting in particular. Something felt off, yet she couldn't put her finger on whatever felt different. Receiving the feeling someone was not too far off behind, she broke her gaze from the painting and turned around.

Nocturnal Vigilante The large metallic car was directed into back alleys, streets and disclosed areas that civilians didn't normally take. Ace Chemicals was the destination, the assailants were not identified at the moment. The GCPD would most likely be there, the alert would have been put out as soon as there was word of a break in. The homeless and animals leaped out of the way, tattered clothing caught in the line then gone in an instant. The massive car , did a sharp left out of the alley, another right, and finally straight down the street. People in their own cars stopped to witness a rare sight, The Batmobile in person.
"I'm coming up on Ace Chemicals now." He'd alert to Alfred's communicator. He could hear dishes going back and forth in the background.

"Do be careful of the news crew, they're capturing the events live as we speak." Alfred had turned on the news station, viewing the Ace Chemicals building smoking from the inside. An armored van was parked outside, several GCPD men and women were inspecting it. Batman could make out the famous Vicki Vale documenting the event, she was always on the scene. Using the eject button on the inside, Batman shot out from the Batmobile, soaring in the hair with his cape spread wide and rising fast. His target was made, as he crashed through the windows.
Onlookers shouted at the arrival of the Batman, point and staring in awe at the Batmobile.

Sonic Cry White noise. That is what she heard at first before the sound of news filling the room. Walking away from the painting she had been staring at, her attention was now settled upon the big screen before her. Alfred's image phased off into the distance, as Sara focused in on what Vicki Vale was commenting on. The sudden spin of the camera being focused on the sleek, black Batmobile rolling in, followed by shouts in awe of Batman's arrival at Ace Chemicals. Sara felt the pull of gravity back to reality, as she heard her cell ringing. Answering it, there was no one on the other end. Looking at the screen it showed she was still connected. Looking closer upon the screen, the numbers counting how long the call was vanished, only to be replaced with a live feed of Batman making his entrance into Ace Chemicals. Then the line went dead. Sara felt her color drain. As she looked sheet white, trying to think of an excuse of her sudden departure. It did not help that her voice cracked slightly as she spoke towards Alfred. "Uuh, I...I-I've got to go." Flipping over her phone to see if there was something on it. Popping the case off, to see if anything different was along the inside of her phone. She saw nothing. "Can you please tell Bruce, I'll take a rain check?" Doing her best to mask the concern in her voice, after what she saw on her cell. Question was, who knew her number? Better yet, what message was this person trying to say? And was she the only who received this call? As Sara went to turn and head towards the door, she realized she would have to depart on foot since Bruce did drive her to his home.

Batman walked slowly down the corridors of A.C.E. Chemicals. It was rather dark, despite many of the liquids that glowed a bright green. He knew not what he would find, or what he was looking for, rather he knew what it was when it came into view. He halted at a platform that looked over the main floor of the manufacturing plant. Definitely Hugo Strange's men. What is he planning to do with these.. It didn't add up, he couldn't place the intentions of breaking in here. Answers would most definitely be plentiful down below. Batman angled himself on the platform, falling only a short distance and down to a low crouch. The corners and counters would make for great vantage locations while taking down thugs one by one, though he needed everything done and fast.

A man came from his left and his right, he brought himself to the left, grabbing him by the vest and pulling him into the next man to the right. Their alerts were muffled by Batman's gloved hands muffling their voices. The two of them went calm, deprived of oxygen. Four more to go, I'll have to keep them from coming over here so they'll stay unaware of any disturbance. He took hold of vials, what sort of chemical these held he did not know. He couldn't really give any props to the place for not keeping better track of what substances their testing. One of them armed men was coming down his life of sight. With very little time to decide, he put the vial back not wanting to risk any sort of fatal reaction. Doing it the old fashion way was probably best. He pulled his left arm back and bringing it hard on the back of the gunman's head. "Alfred, I need you to tap into any and all working cameras I've set up previously. I'm sure the connection is still present. There's clearly a ring leader here, the one calling the shots. I need eyes on his location." He'd say in a low whisper through the communications. It wasn't his first time in the place, he always suspected it for some sort of shady involvement and positioned mini-cameras in places where he could spot any mischievous activities, only they're now proving to be hopefully truly useful.

Upon exiting the front door of Wayne manor, Sara removed her heels as she descended the set of stone stairs to the blacktop road. Once she had a better feel of the ground, she started off into a jog which soon moved to a sprint. The steady, rhythmic beating of her heart filled her ears, as she ran into the darkness. At least Wayne manor wasn't too far off from the main part of the Gotham City. The sight of street lamps came into view as she recognized the neighborhood, she was running into. Knowing of a hideaway place, that she used from when she was affiliated with League of Assassins. She headed there for a quick change of attire. Upon entry into the hideaway, she happened to notice that it was left in the same condition, for when she had been there last. Finding her satchel filled with her leather bound uniform, she had hidden within the wall. Sara changed attire quickly. Stashing her civilian clothing into the satchel, she picked up her cell and pocketed it. Knowing that there was a reason she was shown that footage. Still unsure as to whom had called her. Picking up weaponry from inside the wall, she departed in haste. Only to head down a long alleyway that lead towards a closed garage shop. Making her way inside, without leaving trace that she was even there. She found what she was looking for, as the roaring sound of a motorcycle came to life. Kicking the kick stand off, as she drove out through the open doorway of the garage leading out onto the alleyway. Burning rubber as she hit the street heading in the direction of A.C.E. Chemicals.

A blow to the ribs followed by a flip onto his back, the man groaned and squirmed under the force being exerted on his chest. A swift blow to the face would knock him out completely. He'd get answers when he knew there was nothing else stopping him. Speaking of which. The final gunman revealed himself from behind the corner with Batman there to meet him, he took hold of the gun, bring it closer to knee him in the chest. Two more punches to the stomach and an elbow blow to the head. The man fell back, slightly upright sitting with the surface. Batman gripped the fabric of his vest, "What is Strange trying to collect here and make this quick," He'd command while holding his fist up.

"I don't have to tell you anything, crazy freak."

He could hear the panicked tone in the man's voice. He didn't see it right away that he had pulled a projectile explosive from his belt. Batman loosened his grip to grab the grenade throwing it as far as he could to the other side of the room. Dammit. As expected, the grenade's explosion sounded throughout the room and surely anywhere else within close vicinity. The man already made the objective more difficult than it had to be. His fist connected with the side of his face, leaving him slumped even further down on the floor. Batman walked out, back into the center to check for reinforcements. "Alfred, did you find anything on those cameras."

"I did, sir, though you may not like what's coming for you. I'll patch you through momentarily," His gauntlet chimed a small ring, indicating it was booting up the footage. Another one of Strange's men, alone and moving at considerably superhuman speeds. He had to cycle through the camera footage to keep up. Nowhere near speedster level, but it wasn't anything like Olympic level. "Alfred, he's coming fo-," Cut off by the loud bang of metal, the soldier was moving and fast. Seemingly everything in his path was a paper weight as it all flew from side to side. He readied himself, he was moving to fast for him to completely make him come to a halt. Batman ran at him, though considerably slower, he timed it right just enough to leap over him. To no avail it seemed as his leg was grabbed hold of, followed by a hard impact on the floor. Batman rolled over on his side, looking up at him.

"Hugo Strange says hello," That was all he heard last before the man brought the boot to his face.

Street lights blurred past Canary as she raced onward towards A.C.E. Chemicals. In the back of her mind was a voice reminding her of what she had been taught. Every precious minute matters! Especially in the golden hour. As she steered the motorcycle towards the industrial part in town, she couldn't help but hear a silent ticking sound fading off in the distance. Upon pulling up towards A.C.E. Chemicals, she recalled that there was a crowd of dockworkers, news crews and GCPD squad cars surrounded the front door. Typical. Diverting away from the obvious, front door, she drove towards the loading area. Noticing several unmarked cars parked sporadically, as if to get in and get away quick! Killing the engine, as she coasted off to the side unseen.

As soon as she climbed off, an explosive noise caught her attention. Canary spontaneously spun and crouched low to the ground, closer to the motorcycle as she looked up and around to see where the sound emitted forth from. Light from the flash could be seen along the warehouse windows. Providing her an idea as to where the blast took place. Checking her gear, as she did a quick scene size up. She thought it was weird that no guards of any type were present. Let alone any of the GCPD. She was certain though, that they must have heard the explosion if they were conducting an investigation of the place. Being mindful that time was ticking away, Canary made it inside without a sound.

Stealthily moving across the floor, she happened to come upon debris and evidence that she was in the right place. Closing in she could hear someone's voice echoing off within the center of the room....

Reaching back along her belt, she removed a handheld non-lethal sonic weapon to disable large groups of people. Pressing a button along the device, as an overwhelming sonic cry began to emit into the open space, for a good 30 seconds. Because they were located in the warehouse, the sonic cry echoed and ricocheted off the warehouse walls, fracturing the glass along the windows, to where everyone in the immediate vicinity would hear the sound. The sound alone would cause grown men to buckle to the decibels the device was releasing, Canary's ears on the other hand weren't effected. She did this, to help the downed individual. Hoping that the man on the ground, wasn't in too bad of shape. Readying to prepare to fight off this thug.

He messed up, he really messed up. The many other meta-humans he's faced, he should have been prepared. Though when did Hugo Strange have meta-humans under his wing. Batman was dazed, no more, no less. Overall just a feeling of disorientation. His suits material was being slightly stretched, pulled up, and brought face to face with the man. He took hold of the man's forearm as he was dragged off of the floor and adrift in the air, his legs dangling. "Killing the Batman? Huh, nice. Maybe I'll get that extra upgrade." He could view the attack as the man pulled back his fist.

A blaring noise filled their ears. To provide aid of relief, the enraged one covered his ears, letting go of Batman. He fell back down to his feet, looking up at him. His vision was shaky but he'd manage. He was beginning to fight the sounds, trying to shrug it off. Where is it coming from? He stood upright, looking up at his surroundings, noticing other men who came to support to the strongest of them all bring the Batman to wherever they posted up. He'd cup his hands of his ears, nodding at her as the others were now distracted. Switching on a mute like device to his cowl, he turned to the remaining men. He pulled a taser from his utility belt, barrel rolling over to the strongman. He activated the taser on the side of his head. A loud yell erupted from him, followed by a kick with his left leg knocking him a few steps back. He won't go down like any other ordinary foot soldier. He pulled himself into his orbit, throwing several punches along his torso and head. His durability was surely in question, he took some of his best shots with ease, though he was still succumbing to the effects of the sonic device. Finally, Batman leaped up, connecting his knee with his chin, making the man stumble back eventually falling over.

His breathing was heavy and displaced, one hell of a headache that gave him. Lucky me.

Canary moved with the grace of a ballet dancer across the concrete floor. The sonic device still within her grasp was displaying a blue glow, as she pressed a secondary button the blue glow turned red. Flinging the device towards the newly introduced trio of thugs that entered into the area, now holding onto their heads trying to stop the echoing, pulsating sound from hurting their ears. What they failed to realize now was the device counted away the seconds then detonated. The concussive blast from the device was enough to knock two of the thugs off of their feet, several feet backwards...hard! Canary usually used that for means of distraction and to escape. The time to escape was no where near, presently.
User Image

Throwing both of her hands in a fluid motion downwards, removing two batons, she sprung to action. For one of the last of the trio, still standing she went at him. First with a downwards sweeping strike towards his knee cap with one quick and fluid strike, while using her left elbow to push in and up against the thug's diaphragm, making him breathless. Knocking back her gloved fist in against the thug's face. A loud smack soon followed, as the guy's cheek and mouth made brutal impact with not just her fist, but a partial impact with the baton. The attack happened so quickly it would appear the thug took a beating in slow motion before dropping unconscious to the ground.

She was in her own gifted hands to handle more that came in, though eventually he felt they'd both be outmatched to some extent. He let her handle rest as he began to pat the strongman down, looking for anything that would point him in the direction of Strange. A.C.E. Chemicals had many secrets, and it wasn't just what kind of chemicals they were keeping. Hidden rooms, smuggling, and selling. It wasn't one of the most secure places and it was his fault that he didn't at least tip off the G.C.P.D. . Their choice of communication is outdated. He picked up a hard, dusty walkie-talkie from his pocket. Removing the area where a small card was implanted on the inside. It was the only thing he needed, proceeding to discard the entire box back on the ground next to him.

Batman wasn't sure if the sound was gone, though it would be simple just to activate the mute function once more. He pressed a button on his gauntlet, deactivating the mechanism. In a sense, there really was silence. He turned it back on just in time to here the men that the woman had went up against fall into a deep sleep. The majority would be hospitalized once found, some with minor injuries he assumed. Just before moving over to her, he slipped the small card into his gauntlet activating whatever communication protocols it was following while in the original device. This would come in handy later. "Hugo Strange has something bigger going on here than just stealing chemicals. This one here displayed a different set of physical attributes, not comparable to others. Assuming one made it out, I wouldn't doubt that behind close doors, there's more that he's tested on. No time for a thank you, she probably knew she did good. All of it aside, he looked down at him. What was he? He doubted Strange had the Suicide Squad on his side.

Hearing movement from behind. Canary could tell just by the person's footsteps and body language, that he was not the enemy. Turning to see the downed man she had helped was in much better shape than before. Nodding her head towards him. When their eyes met, he might of seen some sort of hesitance in her gaze. She started to speak up, instead she used sign language. Signing to him, that they needed to talk but not there. When she did speak up, her voice was disguised so that no one could recognize her voice. "Time to go. The golden hour has passed." Straight to the point. She knew that sooner or later, this place would be swarming with Gotham City police officers.

Simple demands it seemed, the sooner the better, maybe but a DNA sample couldn't hurt. He knelt down next to the unconscious man, removing his mask. No face I recognize. The camera within the cowl would keep footage of tonight's event. He would review it later. He took a sampler from a smaller pocket of his utility belt, rubbing it along the mouth of the man. This should give him enough information on what's really going on here. Batman put everything in it's proper place, now ready to leave. "I assume you have a ride," He said to her, signaling his own. The Batmobile would surely attract the attention of others, though it'd be out of sight before most people could react. Turning several corners before it was almost right on the other side of the nearest wall to them. She was more mysterious than he liked, more than a few unanswered questions about her left him curious. She wasn't from Gotham, where, how, and why did she provide help?

Canary stood guard, while the caped crusader before her performed some detective work. It did not take him too long to collect what samples he needed. She could tell he knew what he was doing. Gave him credit for that. When he signaled that he was ready to go, she followed his lead. Watching his actions towards a set of wheels to depart with, she responded with the simple nodding of her head in response to having a ride of her own. Directing line of sight towards the motorcycle.

Before parting their ways, she stopped and turned to face him. Her voice still disguised as she spoke, "Someone is watching you." As she swallowed the muscles along her jawline tightened. Shaking her head to the sides slowly, "As to who it is? I don't know..." Turning slightly in mid-step, before speaking over her shoulder at him. "Whether you realize it or not, you do have allies you can call upon."

Luckily for him, a path out of the building was already clear. He wished he had more time to look around before being prompted to leave, but she was right. The police wouldn't take long to get here. The Batmobile came to a slow halt. Her vehicle must have been around here somewhere, so he assumed. He was just about ready to leave, nodding to the one who in all actuality saved his life.

It didn't come as a shock to hear news like that, people watching him. How often did that happen to the point where it was almost a normal occurrence? Finding out she had no idea who it was wasn't exactly disappointing to hear. He could do most of the rest on his own, to figure out who had their eyes on him. "More than I can count. Are you one of these allies?" He turned to her, she spoke as if she was here to help, whoever she was. Though the save was tremendous help, he wondered if it was safe to assume she wasn't an enemy to him.

Relaxing the tension in her jawline as she felt their eyes meet once more. She smiled, "Yes." Canary may not be from this neck of the woods, but she definitely was someone he could call upon. Hesitantly breaking eye contact with him, she made her way to the motorcycle she 'borrowed'. Which she planned on returning, in the same condition she found it. Sliding onto her -borrowed- ride, the smile remained as she cranked up the power to the motorcycle. Before departing, she winked at him. "I'm pretty sure, that I will see you around. Take care of yourself in the meantime."

Another Selina perhaps? No. She seemed to have a little more respect for things, actually make a difference. "Sir, if you're going to depart, this would be the best time to do so." Footage from the main doors came up on the screen of his gauntlet. G.C.P.D. poured into the lobby room, most likely making their way down to the production floor. They would find the downed men, identify them, arrest them. He had strong doubts they would talk about Hugo Strange being involved.

The Batmobile's engine was significantly louder than most commotion on the inside. Batman took two steps, down and out the wall's opening and into the driver seat where the roof opened it's hatch.

>> Time Skip (One Day) <<

"You never really spoke about much, what with last night's endeavor. I was watching the feed before it cut out. It surely looked as if you were captured." Alfred made it a habit of checking in on how Bruce's nightly jobs went. He was wiping down surfaces in the dining room, Bruce standing by the window looking out during such a gloomy day. Down underneath Wayne Manor, a DNA sample was being tested on with state of the art equipment. The sample he collected from one of Hugo Strange's forces, one who proved to be incredibly strong. He knew beings who were fast enough to deflect bullets with bracelets, and even those who could run and or fly around the world multiple times in mere seconds. So why was this so out of the ordinary. He recalled an event that took place some time ago in Star City, a mercenary he too had dealt with before: Deathstroke. The qualities of those who attacked the city were similar to that of what he saw last night, what he had to go up against.

"There was a woman, another vigilante. There's a very limited number of those here in Gotham and she was a little too good to have just started out," He paused to take a drink from his glass. "She said that the Batman is being watched..to look out for allies that could help."

"Do you feel like you can call her an ally," Alfred said, standing up straight.

"You already know the answer to that one. I don't even know what she calls herself, where she came from, where she received the gadgets and training." In a rush, he didn't grab anything that would be linked to her, nothing that could give him any indication of who this woman might be. Mysterious, even for him. Taking another drink, he used his arm to lean himself on the wall, resting there for a moment.

"So another bunch of angry Gothamites are waiting for the Batman to slip up, to make their move. A new masked vigilante arrives in Gotham, and now the mad scientist Hugo Strange has access to some sort of super drug." That was his best way of summarizing how complicated the very start of this week was becoming. One thing for sure was odd, though did not weigh into the other three. "Where did Ms. Lance run off to after I left?"

"It wasn't much longer after you left, ten minutes at the most. She seemed frantic to leave. I must say, sir, you do a stand up job of keeping them around." Bruce made a half smile, a bit of light humor to soften how eerie this really was. He pulled himself from the wall, walking over to Alfred. "If she wants to come back, she'll come back."
To himself, he did admit it most likely wasn't the most hospitable time he had at anyone's home.
