The herd was moving at a steady pace now--more calmly than before, but still focused. They'd all taken to the ground to rest their tired wings, and Pacari was grateful for the break. Her wings, however, were the only things taking it easy. The mare herself was as busy as ever.

During their journey, the group had come across many travelers to peddle their wares to. Pacari was especially eager to make a "sale", make a trade, educate...in the back of her mind, she had something to prove. And that was okay! She liked to change minds. She liked to be useful and reliable. But in order to be those things, she had to...well...not mess up. But today was the day! Maybe she'd even make a friend? It was still plenty early in the day, she thought, and that meant time enough to find someone to chat with. Maybe today was the day she'd meet her new best friend for life?

Feeling optimistic, the mare decided to take a quick glide in order to better survey the area. Just for a second! And it paid off. Just ahead of the herd, next to a creek, was a winged stallion. Pacari didn't hesitate (though maybe she should have), and swooped down to land behind the male. Her paws clumsily scraped against rocks and she nearly slipped into a fall, but managed to catch her footing and right herself.

"Good morn--err...afternoon? Sir!" AUGH! Ok, ok, focus. "In case you haven't noticed, I'm wearing a large--" The mare tilted her eyes to the heavens in thought. Was it necessary to explain about her bag? She shook her head. "My herd and I sell all kinds of herbs and tea leaves, and I was wondering if you'd be at all interested in anything?"

The pride swelling in her chest at her perceived success was almost visible.
