Foras had found his own Big Brother in a sort of unexpected way. But Batholith had done more for him as a kid growing up as basically an orphan than anyone else could have even tried to do. Sure, he could be a little bit grumpy at times, but who wasn't? Bath was basically re reason Foras was able to open up as much as he did these days. And so, he had signed up for the Big Sibling program. He wanted to be there for a little freshling in the same way that Bath had been there for him.
He had been matched with someone though! And he'd set it up so that they could meet in the art room. Foras loved the art room, and hew already knew a bit about Ophrys. Well, at least he knew they were both Arkham students, so it stood to reason that he liked the art room as well. At the very least it was a good starting point. He had arrived a bit early and was currently sitting on the teacher's desk as he wait for the little freshling to show up.

 Ophrys chewed his lip nervously as he walked to the art room. He really hoped the Big Brother he'd been paired with liked him. Well, that was the point of the whole program, right? Still, the orphaned hybrid was leary; he'd been thrown away once before and having it happen again wasn't exactly something he was looking forward to. Ophrys stopped in front of the art room door and shook slightly. He could run away right now and not have to face rejection. He could...he could...totally miss out on an awesome Big Brother too. Ophrys wasn't no coward.
Reaching out, the young hybrid opened the door and stepped in, looking around. Not that he had to look far, there was one person in the room and they kind of stood out. Ophrys cuddled his bear as he made his way to the older boy, his tail curling protectively around his feet. "H-hi. I'm Ophrys. Are you Foras?" The hybrid offered a tiny smile even as he clutched the bear closer to himself. He wanted to be liked so badly.

Foras slide from the teacher's desk when he heard the door begin to open. It could only be one nightmare, the little brother that he'd been paired with in the Big Sibling program. He was so unbelievably excited to be taking care of a Freshling. When he thought of all Bath had done for him, he couldn't wait to pass on those moments to another freshling. And what a shy little Imp, and litch?, hybrid. Definitely too adorable for words.
"Hey there Ophrys! You're right, I'm Foras and from today on you can call me your big bro!" He made his way over to the little freshling and sat down on his knees so that they were eye level. Foras was pretty tall, even for his age, he tended to tower over others his own age. He held his arms out for a hug.

The hybrid seemed pretty happy to be Ophrys's big brother, smiling and already giving himself a nickname. Big Bro. The thought of having one made Ophrys grin. But why was he holding his arms like that? Ophrys eyed Foras for a second, not quite recognizing what he was doing. After a bit, it clicked that Foras was asking for a hug.
Oh. Oh! Ophrys smiled, released his death grip from his bear, and stepped forward to give Foras the hug. He only ever got hugs from Iris and Orchid, and they didn't wait like that, they just sorta hugged him. But they were family and Rys supposed there was a difference.
He looked up, ears back and eyes uncertain. "So, you like me?" It seemed fairly obvious (you don't hug people you don't like, right?), but Rys needed the confirmation. Aside from Iris and Orchid, it felt like no one really liked him. But now he had a Big Bro. "Big Bro?"

Foras gave Ophrys a tight, but gentle, hug when the little freshling stepped into his arms. His tail wagged happily behind him, he was really a big brother! Well, not in a biological sense. But this was certainly a moment he'd been looking forward to since he'd been old enough to sign up for the program. He was such a cute little Imp hybrid too, Foras was sure they'd have plenty to talk about!
"Of course I like you! What isn't there to like? That hair is adorable, and that fluffy tail, and we have matching ears!" Foras felt like he could die happy the instant Ophrys called him 'Big Bro'. This would probably rank up there was one of the best days in his life. Now, what should they do together? Well, first things first, he better find out what his little brother likes!
"So, brother. What are some things that you like to do? I'm an artist myself." President of the Art Club even! But, he wasn't going to brag. He wanted to make this day about Ophrys, and so he patiently waited to hear about all the things the little freshling enjoyed doing.
