Remember that day we met under that tree?
The winds were blowing down from the mountains as the promise of spring neared closer. So was a day like this before that she waited for that sound. Her heart always carried wings, but his blessing was what carried him into the skies. She merely wished she could join him, but the elder mare knew she wasn't meant for such things.
Her life had taken many turns leading her to where she stood. She'd faced many trials and battles escaping with wounds merely painted in regret. But that's what made the mare stronger with each breath. Each step in her life promised something new. Now once again she awaited his return much as he did when she visited the mountains. Celendria loved her mate as equal as the things around her. Children, friends, the natives were all precious to her. But, Celendria knew deep down inside if she walked past this tree back then, nothing would of been possible.
She knew he'd come back to her.... love that was meant to be always returned to where it was cherished and belonged.
