Elvira was out again. Ever since she had gone to her asteroid and all of those…those things had happened, she was taking as many chances as she could going out and running about the city. She felt so much more powerful right now and it was…it was wonderful. It really was. She was still gushing over all of the little details that had appeared on her fuku when she had grown and it seemed like she was finding new things every time she looked…
The senshi was again rubbing her face on her fuzzy sleeves when she paused, feeling the energy signature of someone new nearby. Someone who felt about the same power as her, but different. Like her brother! Maybe it was Arias! Maybe he was out and she could show off, she hadn’t gotten a chance to do that yet!
Without another throught, Elvira took off, running towards the feeling of the nearby knight, skipping every few steps. Of course it was her brother, he would have been worried about her and he would have come out patrolling and now he could see her.
All grown up he could see her.
“Newgrange!” Her voice sang out in the night, full of absolute certainty that this squire would be her brother.
“Hi…oh…” The smile on her face fell when she saw that it was not, in fact, Newgrange…but it was a girl. “You’re not Newgrange…”
But…but it was still a knight, and someone to befriend! “I’m Elvira! Who are you?”

Newgrange wasn't with her tonight, a fact Sherwood was sorely coming to regret. Patrolling on her own just wasn't the same without him. He was a bit of a sourpuss sometimes, sure, but she liked him and that was what mattered. She trusted him, too, and that was also pretty hard to come by in this war. He had earned her friendship and loyalty and she enjoyed his company more than most others.
Hearing his name startled her out of her thoughts.
"No, I'm not Newgrange."
It was a senshi, curious.
"I wish he was here, though. We usually go patrolling together."
She had no idea she was talking to his sister. When they were together he didn't really talk about his family much. So far she she knew she was his family, or a big part of it. And she knew that their patrolling had been lighter lately, now that they had both powered to rank two, in the grand scheme of things. She was proud of that transformation.

“Oh…” Elvira nodded, taking her outfit into consideration. It was green, just like Newgranges..and they had the same round little cross symbols, so maybe she was even the same kind of knight as Newgrange…that made her feel a lot less embarrassed about her blunder.
“Newgrange is my brother, and he and I usually go patrolling together too!”
She held out a hand and her smile brightened. The girl still hadn’t told her what her name was, but if she was sad about Newgrange not being there, that was most likely the reason.
So, all that was to be done was to try again! “Like, I said, I’m Elvira, the senshi of Poinsettias…I think that you’re the same kind of knight as Newgrange, you have the same greens and stuff…what’s your name?” She couldn’t wait to get home so she could tell Arias that she had met his friend. And if she didn’t know better, she would have teased him about her being his girlfriend…but she knew better.

"Funny, he's kind of mine, too."
Not that she had any idea that Elvira was his actual sister, and not a metaphorical one like she was. She was content with whatever friendship she had with Arias, after all, and didn't need to compete with anyone else about it. She trusted him, and he her. Still, she did miss him on nights like this. But the girl probably wasn't so far off from her own age and seemed friendly enough, and was a senshi, something she knew very little about.
"I'm Sherwood. I'm a Squire of Earth, like Newgrange."
Like his sister, she knew better than to ever tease him about having a girlfriend again. She'd learned that lesson and was quick to support him in his leanings, if he ever decided to try to, you know, date anyone. She kind of wanted to see him settled down with someone nice, that appreciated his shy but caring nature. It was her duty, she decided, to make sure any boy passed her standards of who deserved to be with her best friend.
But that wasn't relevant at the moment.
"I haven't met a lot of seshi. What can you do?"
As far as she knew, she couldn't do much as a squire.

Elvira blinked, frowning. “Wh-what?” Wait…so she had a sister too? Why didn’t Arias tell her? Or her parents! Why didn’t her parents tell her?!? This was really big news…really big news…
“He never told me about you! Neither did mom or dad! Where you put up for adoption or something? Or are you my half sister?” Her eyes were sparkling now, and she was growing more and more excited…she had always wanted a sister.
“Sherwood! That’s so cool! You’re really, really pretty!” She could see how they could be related now, they had pretty much the same hair color, and the freckles…
But…this girl hadn’t met senshi? Well then, she was perfect for that since she was a senshi! “I have really cool magic! Do you want to see, Sherwood?” Of course she wanted to see, who wouldn’t want to see?
“Elvira Garland!” When the magic was in her hands, she threw it onto the squire. She was terribly excited to see what this new and improved attack did…she hoped it was nice! Her last attack was nice!ZaiaFantasy Super Sailor Scout Attack: Elvira Garland! Sailor Elvira holds her hands together and says the name of her attack, then spreads the hands apart in a circle formation, creating a long garland of energy poinsettias. She flings these at an opponent and if they hit the/a target, the/a target will suddenly appear to be wearing a garland of the energy poinsettias around their shoulders and a feeling of happiness will overtake them, lasting forty seconds. The attack can be used three times per battle.

It took KD a minute or two to figure out what Elvira was talking about and how she'd gone wrong in her phrasing. She didn't think for a minute that anyone would take her literally but it became increasingly clear that this girl was actually blood to Arias, and not just in the metaphorical sense like she was. She was quick to raise her hands and try to stop her in the middle of her exclamations. They weren't actually sisters and since Arias was never going to be romantically attracted to her, they never would be, either. And that was ok. Any sister of his was a sister of hers.
"Oh, no! I mean, you've got the wrong idea."
Sherwood quickly put her hands on the younger girl's shoulders and gave her a helpless look. This was so desperately awkward. Her wide green eyes pleaded with her to understand that this was just a big misunderstanding.
"He's not actually my brother. He's like my brother. He's my partner and my best friend so, I think of him as family."
When they switched topics she was a lot happier. Even happier when the poinsettias wrapped around her shoulders. A warm glow started behind her belly and stretched out to each corner of her body until she felt tingly and happy all over. She thought of Arias, and then of Westley, and a blush crept across her cheeks making her freckles stand out all the more. When it faded she let out a soft giggle and wrapped her arms around her body as if missing a warm sweater that was suddenly gone.
"That's really..wow. That's cool! I'd show you what I can do with this," she motioned to her bow, "but I don't want to hurt you or anything."

“Oh…” For a moment there was a little disappointment in Elvira’s face, but then she brightened when it seemed as though Sherwood liked her magic. “Isn’t it the best?” It seemed as though it did about the same as her first attack and made people happy again…she really did like making people smile…it was one of the best things she could think of.
“I don’t really want to be hurt, either, to tell you the truth!” She rocked back on her heels and watched the girl, her eyes on the bow. It was fancy, and she wondered why Arias didn’t have something fancy like that…he didn’t really have anything from what she could tell.
“I really like the flowers in your hair, Sherwood, they’re really pretty.” To be honest, Elvira was kind of running out of things to say, but she wanted to keep hanging out with her, if only because she knew her brother…and it was kind of cool to hang out with her brothers friends! She felt like one of the cool kids now…it really helped not being a chibi anymore. People treated her more like a person now that she was a for real senshi...that was cool!

"I wish I could do things like that but until recently my bow was mostly just for whacking people."
Which was what it was still mostly used for in the panic of most of her fights. She had yet to come across any Nega or DMC that meant her any real harm but the youmas...they were creepy. She didn't relish having to be around those at all but from what she understood it was part of the job. Youmas hurt people and she needed to make sure that didn't happen. At least that was part of being a knight that she could get behind and one of the less dangerous parts of her new life. It was all wildly overwhelming to her even now, but at least she was comfortable.
"Thank you." She absently touched one of the golden blooms that were nestled into her brown hair. She took them for granted, since she never actually had to do anything when she powered up, as far as getting dressed was concerned. She'd had no say in her uniform design, either. The sleeves were awfully inconvenient at times, coupled with her natural lack of grace.
"I like the red in your uniform. I wish mine had a little more color."
Muted color palettes were not her specialty.

Elvira nodded. “I think your outfit is beautiful! And, who knows! Just keep getting stronger and one day maybe you will be able to do something super cool!”
…her own magic wasn’t super cool…but it was good enough for what it was…and she liked the fact it didn’t hurt people. That was most likely the best part of it all.
“Anyway, Sherwood, I have to get home now, okay? It was really nice to meet you, and I’ll let Newgrange know you were asking about him!” The senshi waved, then hesitated, running over and hugging the squire tightly, before pulling away and grinning, then running off into the night.
She really, really absolutely loved making new friends.
Especially when they were her brother’s friends too! They could all patrol together one day!
Ah! That would be so fun.
