Panda Moor This is long, but I wanted to give you some idea of her character! Magnild was a very traditional Chimera with a very traditional Cache upbringing; almost overwhelmingly so.
She was the younger sister of the Rani of the Mountain-Forgers, a clan whose members were made up of Cliffshapers with very few exceptions. They were not yet considered a 'great' clan because of their small numbers and almost reclusive nature, but their craftsmanship and skill in fire magic were renowned and respected. For as long as she could remember Magnild had studied the arts of fire and flight and one day dreamed that one day she would carry on the families trade. Despite this being her dream and the normal progression within the family; her life was a little more complicated than most.
Her sister was the Rani and because of this Magnild's life revolved around her from the moment she drew breath; before she was even born her destiny had been carved in runes. She was raised to be her sister's guardian and protector; to serve her and obey any wish or whim she might have - sacrificing her own life for her if the God's demanded it. Combat training was mandatory and by the time she left the clan the young Chimera could hold her own against the family's largest males. The mix of physical and magical training to be found in her was impressive and she was not shy about the fact. She had to exell to fulfil her position in life and be the best protector she could be.
When the time came her parents even refused to make her a match, her sister was going to forever be her only. A partner and children would distract her from her duties; her parents loved their daughter, though to the outside world that might not seem the case. Her life was that of a servant, but she had never resented it. The loyalty she had to her clan and her duties was that one might expect from her breed.
It had been years since her sister personally requested that she explore the land of bellow and bring her back stories of a world she would never be able to see. Eir, unlike most Chimera, was fascinated with other races but because of her status within the Clan enrollment in the Academy was impossible. Instead she sent her most trusted subject in her place, her sister and Guardian Angel. Magnild hated the idea from the outset but could not refuse a direct order; so she packed her bags and set off on a reluctant adventure in her sister's stead. If all went according to plan she would be able to return home soon; her heart ached for her family's home, the air, the mountains; they had never stopped calling to her in her dreams.
Despite her mission being that of discovery; she had done little to integrate her into the world. Instead learning about other races through the texts that could be found in the Library. She could tell you alot about other nightmares; their culture; their anatomy and their beliefs; but despite her knowledge had no wish to interact with any of them. She was a set in her ways and as stubborn as a mule. Her sister said nothing about having to make friends and when approached by classmates made this fact very clear, she was to return home and was only here to attend classes; anything more was a waste of energy. Life might be what some would consider lonely and it was; but it also gave her a lot of time for spiritual growth and reflection. She had made some friends amongst the Chimera, but had yet to establish a meaningful emotional connection with anyone, even amongst her own race.
The pink haired Chimera, dorning the unique fashion that the Below had to offer was reading a text on Nixie, a race that she still knew very little about, but one she was sure Eir would find most interesting due to their aquatic nature. Magnild settled down with the text under the same three she had been using as an escape between classes for many years. Her tail wrapped around her body and a claw following each passage attentively as her pale eyes scanned the page with the utmost diligence. If she would take anything back home it was the fashion, Magnild loved to shop.
A cute pink jumper and accessories was preferable to her traditional Chimera battle gear any day. She had bags upon bags packed to gift her sister on her return. Her inability to mix with other races was not based on hate, she actually quite liked learning about them and loved their clothes and history - but she plainly refused to dilute her own heritage, tradition and duty by distracting herself with friends that she was not going to keep. Maybe deep down the idea of change and difference made her uneasy, she was sure she was not the first Chimera to feel that way.
The wind blew softly, the air was calm, the day pleasant and ready to write its tale.

Arden was sore, and as the year dragged on, everything seemed to be exhausting. What enthusiasm he had earlier for most of his classes had seemed to vanish, and even some days practicing his magic was too much of a hassle. Maybe it was time to admit he needed some friends or a good hobby. The Chimera sighed, tugging at the strap of his backpack. He was going to find a place to relax and work through the novel he had picked out from the library earlier in the week - it was hit or miss when he enjoyed a story, but the writing in this one had a good pace and he was determined to finish it and figure out the fate of the Nightmare protagonists.
Wandering a bit aimlessly, he let his tail drag a little bit once he was off the plaza and into the grass. He paused, chewing his lower lip. There was a pair occupying his usual spot on the back side of the wall, and he could see in the distance someone else was eating their meal under his usual tree. Well. He scratched his neck, sighing once more. He didn't like to change up his routine that much. He had a schedule and he stuck to it. Begrudgingly, he worked across the grass looking for a comparable substitute. Maybe if it was close enough he could convince himself it was comfortable and enjoyable. Arden picked down the hill side, wings pressed as close to his back as he could. This side of the school wasn't too familiar to him and he traced the facade of the Academy with his eyes. Similar but different.
Arden rounded the nearest tree, making a small sound as he kicked something with his foot. "S-sorry," the Chimera stated instantly on reflex, always polite, and he immediately bent over to upright Magnild's bag he had run into. He flushed the slightest, cursing himself internally. Everything was just going wrong lately, wasn't it? Immediately he clamped his wings even tighter, noticing Magnild's tail before he took in her wings. He so rarely ran into other Chimera and of course he was going to make a fool of himself the time he finally did. "Was just... looking for a tree of my own." He laughed dryly, rubbing his neck as he took a step backwards to flee the scene. "Sorry."

Magnild's tail twitched as she heard a rustle and then a thud. Pale eyes slowly raised from her text and looked to the side in time to see a tanned male shuffled and repositioned her bag. She was going to scold him for being careless but his appearance had silenced her - it was a Chimera like her. She closed the book that was placed on her lap and pushed a chunk of her candy coloured hair behind her ear. "N-no, its okay." She shook her head with a smile smile. He might of being acting careless, but at the end of the day it was not like he had step on her tail or caused any actual damage to her property. She decided it was best to let it slide, just this once.
However it seemed that he, like herself, was seeking solitude.
"I see. That is a shame, I was going to suggest we share this one, but if you want to spend your break undisturbed, I can understand." She bowed her head a little, resting back against the bark as she continued to examine him. She was surprised, she made a point of knowing ever Chimera she came across, but this one was new to her. How had she managed to miss someone that looked so cute? She sighed as her tail flicked, exorcising the thought from her mind.

Arden dragged his claw over the fabric of his strap a little surprised by the invitation. He glanced around, ears twitching before nodding in affirmation. "Sure," the Chimera agreed, clearing his throat immediately after. It didn't quite know what to do with himself as he usually wasn't invited to join people. Him and Ares had begun to talk more as of late, but this was all new territory to him. He let his bag down first before sitting off to her other side just under the shade of the tree but still giving Magnild her space. Arden would admit all females sort of made him clam up but having another female Chimera before him, he couldn't help but sit a little rigid as he was reminded of his grandmother and mother. It was a different tier of respect that he hadn't had enough practice in shaking since he had transferred to the Academy.
"You must have a lot of good places around campus, I don't think we've met before," the brunet offered in an even tone, pulling up his knees to his chest. He put on the slightest smile, dragging his claws lazily over the leg of his jean. The bright haired girl had to be a Senior, and while he wasn't usually completely tunnel blind, there was quite a few around the Academy he wasn't very familiar with. "Thanks for sharing the spot, by the way. I'm Arden." He dipped his head the slightest, twisting to pull open his bag and free the dog-eared novel he had been planning to enjoy all along. The boy dragged his thumb over the pages, enjoying the feel of the soft edges.
