It had been a busy day. Nasai had finished up her midterms, helped participate with the play, and gone around and did the grocery shopping because growing boys definitely knew how to pack away the food. Since it was the start of the weekend Layren was coming home, which was probably why she was feeling this way currently. Nasai at times couldn’t relate to layren, after all she never knew what it was like to grow up without an older sibling. She was always with Lerin; in fact they had even come from the same soul stone. The two were almost like the same person they were so close although like any sibling they got into huge massive fights that worried both their parents, still they always worked through it. It was nice having someone that wasn’t an authority figure, some one that was around her age that could understand what they were going through.
Morin and Nasai had pushed off getting a soul stone, as it had been October and even if she knew some people that knew where to get the soul stones she was always afraid that she would be part of the group whose children died because of the mutations. Another reason was Layren. He was so new to the family that she didn’t want him to think that they were replacing him. He was important to them both and he would always be their eldest child. However Nasai also wanted to give him a sibling, someone he would butt heads with yes, but someone to go on adventures with him, to hold secrets and be in his corner. Someone to be the voice of reason to any crazy adventures because the kid would be half litch and half fallen after all, but they would also be loyal and be in his corner. Nasai just wasn’t sure how Morin and Layren felt about the whole thing. Well as her mom liked to say, it was always going to be a No until you asked, and if it was still a no well then you didn’t really lose anything.
“Morin, what do you think about more kids in the near future” and that was way faster tan she meant to say it, oh well if he managed to make sense of that it would be a miracle.
“What do I think about more kids… well it would be good for Layren to get a few siblings to play with. I never had siblings obviously but I know how close you and Lerin are. It would be good to have some one more his own age to talk to, although I am worried he’ll think that we’re replacing him” Morin replied setting his music homework down. Truthfully he had been expecting this line of questioning for a while. Did he want more kids; it was true considering Nasai’s family that they had enough money for them. He was just worried about layren. Layren always thought they were going to toss him out if he failed in any matter. What would he think if they got biological children? Would he think that they didn’t want him anymore?
However it would be good for him to have children around his own age even if they would be younger by a couple years. He remembered getting slightly jealous of how close Lerin and Nasai where when they were growing up. Obviously layren and any future children wouldn’t have the same relationship but sometimes you just couldn’t go to your friends or parents with stuff. “I…”
“I can be a big brother? I’ll be the best big brother ever I promise, really. I’ll watch after them and make sure they have enough blankets and… and … and” Layren suddenly blurted out skidding into the room. He was met with the amused stare of both his parents.
“It’s not like getting a Spectre Fox Layren”
“Pleaaaaaasseeeee”
“Well babies are a big deal. We have to get the house ready, and we have to make sure we have enough and” listed off another few things about what would have to be done for a baby. “But… yeah let’s go get a soul stone to imbue” Morin finally finished after weighing through all the different stuff. He wasn’t against the idea and it would be nice to have more family. Layren was gone a good chunk of the time due to school, although he was home every chance he got.
With a huge smile, Nasai crossed the room to wrap her arms around her partner. She didn’t think it would be a yes right off the bat, she just wanted to throw the idea out there so he could think about it but she did have to admit it would be adorable to have a tiny Morin of her own. “Yeah, let’s start preparing for new family members” she then laughed when layren ran over and inserted himself into now a group hug.
