TEACHER/STAFF 109 Positioned at one end of the building, this one bedroom apartment is one of few two-story lofts. With a very urban design, the high windows provide plenty of natural lighting and allow for sweeping views of the school grounds. It kinda just sucks that he doesn't get to keep it. Oh yeah, and he's got an mostly-open-door policy. Swing by sometime. Unless you're the janitor.
Leo laughed as Tatsuya turned the question around on him and addressed his tendency to ditch his post. ”Eh, they’re not gonna die,” he said, leaning back in his chair and taking a swig of cola. ”And even if they do, it’s not like I could’ve done anything about it.” Actually, his job was pretty cozy. Compared to Tatsuya, at least. Whereas the janitor was running around doing the work of three men, Leo sat back, kicked up his feet, and played video games most of the day. Most of the day. If there was something on the nurse’s schedule, he made sure to be out of the office running “errands”. Which was really just another way to say that he would skip out on his duties until the day was over. Sometimes he would go to visit his favorite janitor just because he knew how much the guy just adored him. Why else would Tatsuya go out of his way to spend so much time with him? HA
When Del asked if she should invite another teacher to their table, Leo shrugged. He didn’t really care either way. With Tatsuya’s non-reaction, Del eventually came to her own decision and invited the guy over. When Tatsuya mentioned something about starting class early, Leo couldn’t help but crack up. Man, that guy was going to be on every other kid’s s**t list for the next month at least. Well, back when Leo went to school he would’ve. Maybe times have changed, though he doubted they changed enough to make kids actually excited for classes to start. Then again, there was always that one weirdo in the class that would remind the teacher about homework when class was already wrapping up.
And that comment about the mile high club? Leo was thisclose to choking on his lasagna. Was Ryuu hitting on Del? Is that what was happening here? The prospect was beyond hilarious. ”Yeah man, I guess you could say that I’m the nurse,” he replied to the teacher, just able to pull it together enough to offer the guy a handshake. ”Leonardo Deiderick, but everyone calls me Leo. I would apologize for never stopping by your classroom, but the humanities were never my thing.” Leo returned to his meal. Surprisingly enough, it wasn’t that bad. But he expected to quality of food to go downhill from here. It always happened like that. By the end of the semester, they were going to have mystery meat stew every other day.
After lunch, Leo continued to wander the school grounds. He didn’t want to risk running into anyone at the nurse’s office. Rather, he stopped by the gym, the school store, and the teacher’s lounge before finally finding his way to his station. Unsurprisingly, the nurse hadn’t found her way back, which made Leo wonder just how hard it is to ask for a new shipment of materials. But that was probably just an excuse for her to leave the office, so he didn’t waste much time wondering. Instead, he returned to the computer. Playing games and chatting with people online was a good way to shoot the breeze. He shot back a message to his friend “hgamesforever” on Skype as well.
A couple of hours later, Leo could finally clock out. It was 5 o’clock sharp, and his workday was over. Or, it should’ve been. Ah, the orientation, he thought to himself, shaking his head. Leo had never been keen on how much of an event Ashhaven always made their orientation into. And now his eight-year reprieve was coming to an end. As a staff member, he was expected to attend. But would anyone actually notice? Mulling over his options, Leo walked to the Willow dorm and straight to his room/apartment/dorm thing. Maybe he’d have enough time for a quick nap before the event.
