Aurora had seen the cat when she'd walked by the tree for the first time. Had stopped to peer up into through the few leaves that still remained, trying to decipher if the fuzzy creature was hanging out or was legitimately stuck among the branches. Sweet tones hadn't seemed to affect the feline who gave the occasional mew, but she stood nonetheless frowning, shifting her sachel of school books lightly on her side.
Her clothing, prim and pristine blouse and skirt with a dainty set of heels, were hardly appropriate tree climbing duds. In the end, with a moment's lingering, she abandoned the poor creature, hoping for the best as she made her way to the nearby market.
The tree shouldn't have been on her path again, fully intent on grabbing groceries for dinner and then heading straight home to make dinner, but when she left the store she couldn't help but backtrack. And when she approached the tree and was greeted with more feverent little mews, she frowned digging out the sandwich meat that totally wasn't for dinner but had 'somehow' made it into her cart.
"Come here little darling... You must be hungry." She crooned, stepping on tippytoes to try and hoist thin slices of deli meat into the sky. But the fluffy little cat didn't budge.
It was only after a full five minutes of trying and a quick glance around her surroundings that Aurora gave up, reaching down to touch the pen that always rested in her pockets. The flood of light had barely faded before the eternal bounded up the tree, thanking the heavens for the grip that her boots offered.
Landing on one of the lowest and thickest branches she tried to reach up for the cat, who wanted no part in whatever the hell it'd just seen and quickly scurried further up the tree.
"Nooo nooo.. kitty kitty.." She crooned as she tried to haul herself clumsily up the branches. Aurora had always been a girly girl and had little experience climbing trees, and it certainly didn't help that the bare branches kept snagging at the ruffles of her skirt and the dangling ribbons on her back.
But she was on a mission by god and she was going to complete it, half out of concern for the cat and half out of sheer stubborness. She needed to get the cat out of the tree and safely on the ground. Preferably quickly. Before anyone noticed her out in the middle of the day like this.

Too late to not be noticed. Olga was standing at the bottom of the tree because she had heard the mews and noises on her walk home from school...and it wasn't just a cat in a tree...but a...girl...? She thought...wearing a skirt...and ribbons and...all kinds of other things. She really had a knack for being there for...all the wrong things. "Uh...."

She'd climbed upwards a couple of branches, getting closer to the cat when another branch snagged her skirt, helping hoist the already short and sheer skirt upward. Polaris was fussing unhappily with that branch when she heard the sound of Olga's utterance and glanced downward, her eyes widening. Being caught was one thing, but the full knowledge that the girl (thank the lord at least that it WAS a girl and not some guy) had a full and unobstructed view up her skirt drew forth an unintentional and tiny whine from the senshi before suddenly there was another flash of light.
The sight of 'panties' and boots were quickly replaced by the fabric folds of a long and sparkling dress and ribbons. Large white wings rustling and unfurling only get caught up even worse in the branches. If Polaris were the type to curse she'd most certainly be doing so now. But instead she sighed very heavily, continuing to try and push herself upwards towards the cat (who had once against retreated further up the tree thanks to the sudden light).
As a small shower of tiny twigs, and one fancy little high heel shoe, rained down towards Olga, the senshi called down to her quietly, her tone slightly apologetic. "Ummm.. can we just pretend you didn't see any of this...?"Lucyal She'll catch the cat in the next post and head on down. >w<

Well...it was a good thing Polaris wasn't a guy in that outfit...because Olga would have been ogling hard core then. Abs and...things. Yeah. Instead, the senshi's modesty was preserved, as Olga was more baffled that there was a...senshi...? In the tree during broad daylight then anything else. The bafflement increased even further as the senshi transformed into... Into... An angel? Olga gasped, awed by this, and already crazy impressed even with all the branches in the way. Still impressed, even as that one fancy little high heel shoe landed on her face, and then fell to the ground. Ow. It stung more than anything, and she rubbed her nose as she stooped to pick up the fallen high heel. "Ummmm...." She hummed. "...Yeah....no. Not really." She replied in earnest, holding the shoe in her hand as she looked back up to watch Polaris. "Be careful up there, Cinderella!" She called, and thought that was kinda clever because she looked like a fairy tale princess and Olga had her shoe. Hrm... The young woman glanced around, because despite her mouth getting her into trouble, she couldn't exactly squash that terrible streak of curiosity. Besides...the girl up there was obviously a good guy! Negaverse probably wasn't going around rescuing cats from trees. Olga cupped her hand around her mouth and asked, in a softer tone: "Are you a senshi...?"

...Yeah....no. Not really. To say she wasn't hoping for a different answer would be a lie, but she wasn't particularly surprised either, and she couldn't help but be at least the tiniest bit amused by the call of 'cinderella'. It was not the first time she'd been deemed a Disney princess, though it probably didn't help that she shared names with one of them. And was a total stick in the mud goody two shoes back in highschool. "Well then, please just let me know if someone else is heading this way." She called back hopefully.
The lack of shoe on her left foot was actually helpful in traction and pushing her way upwards, wings tucked as tightly against her back as she could manage. Sheer persistance, and lack of anywhere else for the cat to further escape to, finally paid off, because as her feet touched the branches thin enough that they began to creak and threaten to break her fingers finally were close enough to scoop the cat up. And promptly tuck it tightly against her fur stole in case it decided to try and fight back.
There was a brief moment of victory and pride, but the thoughts were quickly discarded as the question sounded from down below and she debated the best way to try and get to the ground. There was very little point in her trying to be stealthy after already being caught. And hopefully no one else was around....
She leapt, arms folded over the cat to prevent it from being smacked with any branches that whipped or snapped around with her abrupt action, and when she finally cleared the branches those large wings unfolded slowing her descent.
Landing with the wobble of uneven footing, her arms opened to let the cat escape, before her gaze turned towards Olga, expression sheepish as she picked at leaf and branch debris in her wings and hair. "Y.. yeah. I'm a senshi. Have you met some before?"

"R-right...!" Olga could dutifully do that, at least. She kept an eye out, but it seemed they were very fortunate in that no one else was coming around. Olga's eyes darted back and forth from the tree to around, and she looked up in time to see the senshi descending. She hopped back a bit, cradling the shoe against her. As Polaris landed, Olga blinked and her eyes widened at just how...well...masjestic the young woman was. The landed ruffled her hair, and she was just awed. Real wings. She forgot about the cat, the creature nothing more than a quick blip on her radar before it disappeared. "Y-yeah...!" She replied after a moment. "I...I have...! And knights too---" She clutched the shoe tighter, remembered she was holding it, and gasped. "Oh! Right!" Olga moved closer, and knelt placing the shoe on the ground before Polaris' feet, upright and facing away from the senshi so that she could easily slip her foot back into it. Olga shot back up, holding her hands together in front of her. "But...you're not like any of the ones I've seen...are you....are you a princess senshi?"

Polaris' eyes glanced after the cat as it shot off, mostly to make sure it didn't dart back up the stupid tree again. But thankfully it didn't, and her eyes were free to return to the young woman with an awestruck expression she was getting more and more used to. Though her fingers found one of the longer strands of her bangs to fidget with nervously.
The offered shoe, after a moment of curious starring, brought clarity finally and lifting the edges of her dress daintily to expose a foot she reclaimed the missing piece before settling more comfortably on even feet again.
"You sure know a lot of stuff..." The senshi mused thoughtfully. She probably wasn't a knight or senshi herself.. or she wouldn't be asking what she did. Mind turning to Azzo, and all the time he spent helping fight against Chaos even before ever becoming a knight himself, she couldn't help but wonder if the young woman wasn't the same. A mere civilian, out putting her life on the line to fight youma and protect the city.
"Oh!" She stated suddenly, posture straightening to something with a half ounce of dignity and grace before her hand extended outwards. "I've been awfully rude. I am a princess."
"Princess Polaris, senshi of magnetism." Proper introduction aside, her expression turned sheepish once more. "Thanks for keeping an eye out for me. And for the shoe!"

"Y-yeah..." It was here Olga would have grinned a bit sheepishly, and be proud that she knew as much as she did, but she didn't. Instead she grimaced a bit. She didn't have too much time to dwell on how that had backfired on her, of course, since the senshi had introduced herself--- And that was a surprise right there. Olga's face went blank as she stared at the young woman. Polaris... Princess Polaris...this was...this was... Sergei's princess...and his friend. Her expression shifted. Polaris was beyond cool. She was saving cats out of trees and all nice and sweet and no wonder she was a Princess and that Sergei actually liked her... "I...I've heard about you...from a..." There was a long pause. "Friend." The utterance of the word didn't sound very certain, despite how she wanted it to be so. Olga's eyes lidded as she looked off to the side. "He's...a knight of yours..." This she felt alright with telling the senshi...after all, if Sergei looked up to her in that respect... There was another long pause. "... Can I become a knight, too!?" Olga suddenly burst, eyes going wide as she stared at the Princess. Her hands clenched into fists as she leaned forward. "I'll do anything! Anything I have to!"

Her extended hand remained untaken and unshaken, and after a moment of awkward starring by Olga Polaris retracted it, quickly taking on a surprised look of her own.
Heard of her...? One of the 'perks' of being a princess she supposed - her reputation proceeded her. The explanation however shifted her surprise to something more akeen to excited delight, her hands clapping together. "Ohh! Whisler or Beringia maybe?" Those were the two males ones she knew of currently. Or did she have another knight out there she hadn't met yet?
She had been taking silent inventory of her knights, listing in her head and wondering if there were others out there she didn't know about, and what they'd all be like when the outburst startled her back into reality and it was her turn to stare at the other woman for a moment, before a finger lifted to tap her own cheek thoughtfully.
"Well you see... it's not really that simple. I can't just make someone a knight." At least she didn't think she could?
"You've got to have a special type of starseed in you to become a senshi or knight." Pointing vaguely at Olga's chest, with of course the proper amount of distance to not be in the least scandalous, she continued. "If you're a senshi a Guardian cat will sense it in you and can awaken you. And if you're a knight well... I guess one day your wonder just decides it's time."
The excitement, and pleading, had not been lost on Polaris however, who felt a little bit bad to be the potential bearer of bad news. Only she was an optimist, and didn't like being the bearer of bad news, so where others would have kept their mouth shut for the civilian's safety Polaris' opened, spilling out encouragingly. "Maybe one day you'll awaken as something. But even if you don't it doesn't mean you can't be a knight of some sort."
"I've known a couple civilians who have come out and fought alongside us senshi and knights in the past. And even if you can't fight there are other ways to help! Spreading good PR is desperately needed as long as you're careful about it. And helping hide or patch us up in our times of need."
"We all have a job we can do, no matter how tiny it might seem they all really do help." Really there were plenty of senshi and knight out there that could use this girl's enthusiasm and drive. How many of their ranks had they lost over the years to fear or laziness.Lucyal Polaris is going to be getting herself in trouble mayhaps if a certain person knew what she was saying/suggesting. ;p

"Uh---" Polaris was naming off names---knight names, she hoped was a safe assumption. Well...it was different if Polaris said it...or gave it away! Not her. Of course a Princess would know all of her knights, right? Sergei had not given up his knight name, but now it was narrowed down to two. "...I'm...not sure what his knight name is." Olga admittedly quietly, eyes lidding again once more. "But uh...he looks really grumpy all the time if that helps...?" Upon hearing the devastating news though, the thoughtfulness disappeared from the young woman, and the disappointment was obvious. Olga's expression fell and her shoulders slumped. Maybe one day. If at all. It wasn't good enough. While Olga heard the words and helpful suggestions, ways she could help and be useful, they just weren't as appealing or helpful as Olga wanted them to be. "...Spreading good PR and patching others up...it doesn't save you from being kidnapped...or almost killed." Olga replied after a moment, uncharacteristically solemn at that as she looked at Polaris. "...If you don't have magic...then you're powerless." Iris_virus Pffffft Polaris can't get in trouble with Grumperingia! She's his princess! 8D That gives her immunity---she can obviously do no wrong =u=

Her look grew ever slightly suspicious as Olga floundered for the name, her brow quirking mildly. What kind of friend did you not know the name of? It almost certainly ruled out Whisler, who she hadn't had to know long enough to realize he was a bit of a charmer. And there was no way he wouldn't let a woman get away without knowing his name. Beringia though... He'd been awfully stoic and short on words. He was a possibility. Especially as Olga explained the grumpiness, her hand lifting to hide the few giggles that escaped her. People had always described Niflhel as grumpy too.
Her amusement was not long lived however as the other girl obviously deflated and Polaris' hand reached out to grasp her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. "I'm so sorry that happened to you." Really she was. The toll this war had on those that weren't even participating was one of the things that bothered Polaris the most, one of the reasons she fought the hardest to end it. Her own personal shame of how much collateral damage her attacks tended to do only sparked that on further.
Her grip had been tight at first, a squeeze, before it softened, though her fingers still remained lightly. "It's not true though. You aren't powerless."
"Even us with magic have gotten kidnapped. And I can't even count anymore the number of times I've almost been killed. Having magic doesn't protect you from that at all."
"But if you really feel strongly about it. Then not having magic shouldn't stop you. One of the bravest and most wonderful person I know.... he fought with us for months.. maybe even more than a year before he became a knight. He learned to kickbox. Brought weapons to help give himself an advantage and never backed down." He had broken bones and many starseed attempts to prove it.
Hand retracting mildly, Polaris shifted before her dress and wings suddenly faded, leaving behind the eternal senshi instead. Her fingers lifting to press mildly against the compass rose on her chest. "It's not a safe path by any means. You could die. But if it means that much to you.... The power is there inside you to do something and fight back."
"And maybe one day the universe will wake up and realize it's found itself another solider."Lucyal Here, have pep talk. Potentially leading you to your death pep talk. 8D

Olga waved her hands a bit as Polaris gave her a bit of a suspicious look. "I asked! He didn't tell me his knight name! He doesn't like telling me things---" Sigh. It was a small gesture, but it was one Olga greatly appreciated. A touch on the shoulder, and words that were sincere, and for the first time since the event, she actually felt like she wasn't going through this alone, and that someone understood. Her expression flitted to let in some disbelief. "...Really?" She murmured. To think that those who were powered were still facing the same things she did, too. Hearing about someone though who wasn't powered, did lift her spirits a tiny bit. Maybe it wasn't what Polaris was saying, but what she got from it was that if she tried hard enough, after some time, she would be granted magical powers too. "...Maybe I'm off to an okay start then...I'm into kickboxing as well..." She mused softly, and then couldn't help but let out a soft humorless chuckle as she reached up to lightly rub the back of her neck. "Well...I could die by not doing something so...I don't think I'm worse off...actually trying to...do something." It was interesting to her that Polaris could go from...a princess garb to an elaborate senshi garb...still so many things about these magical beings she didn't know. "Do you...ever worry that...the bad guys will...find you...?"

As a girl who had oft been very extremely awkward around men, more out of diginified (and something prissy) politeness she could only giggle a little at Olga's explanation of the knight.
"Yep, my fiancee actually." She whispered quickly in response to the disbelief, probably moreso just because she really really really liked saying the word then because it made any difference who it was.
Kickboxing and self defense were wonderful skills to have in a city like this. But it was drive and desire that mattered more. Whether or not someone knew how to fight in the end it was their desire or duty to do so that really made the difference. Would they fight or would they run? Olga's words, though a little clumsy and tentative, were enough for Polaris, especially considering her plea from before. "That's the spirit!" The senshi stated with a nod. "You've got to do whatever it takes to survive and protect the ones around you. And even if you don't have magic you just use your other skills, like your brains or ability to be stealthy."
The question came as a surprise to her but she answered reflexively. "That's part of why I just powered down. Anyone powered in the area can feel me and the more powerful you are the further away they can feel you from and hunt you down."
Until she realized that that might not have been exactly what was being asked of her, her head tilting slightly. "Or do you mean.. in general?"
"Because in general it's a concern of everyone powered. I know I constantly worry about the possibility of accidentally leading something bad home so I try to power up and down blocks away. Or putting the people I care about in danger..." She could still recall the day that Princess Ares had threatened to go after Niflhel just to get to her...
"It's scary sometimes, and you have to be cautious. But it's also something I try not to dwell on when I can avoid it. There are enough things to worry about without dragging yourself down by constantly worrying." It was good advice, though perhaps a little hypocritical from an occasional over worrier like her.

Olga blinked in surprise. "Your fiancee---" She repeated. "The one who was fighting not powered---but then became a knight---" She then stared at Polaris like so. It was so romantic. The senshi princess was engaged to a knight. A knight who before he was powered, was fighting to the best of his ability with no powers. Along side---together---Maybe---Maybe--- Maybe something like that would happen to her one day---Wow. Olga let out a soft dreamy sigh as she stared at the senshi, before realizing there was something else she should have been saying. "Oh! Congratulations! Congratulations to you and your fiancee!" The young woman nodded her head a bit as Polaris spoke. Okay...the stronger the power, the more others could sense it...? As she got to her question though, Olga listened intently. She grimaced a bit, somewhat finding it a surprise to be told not to worry about it too much. Olga let out a soft chuckle. "Easier said than done...to be told not to worry..." She trailed off for a moment, her eyes lidding in thought before she heaved a big sigh. She then started again, staring at Polaris with wide eyes. "Oh! Oh! Oh, I'm so sorry! I've been---incredibly rude---" She thrust her hand out at the senshi. "Just throwing all my questions and worries on you and I haven't even introduced myself---my name is Olga! It's a serious pleasure to meet you---especially since I heard about you from someone who does not speak of others lightly!" Like how he probably never spoke of her... Yeah...

Olga's excitable reaction only helped spur on Polaris' own. A soft and pleased flush touching her cheeks as she gushed like the happy (and overly excited) bride to be she was. "Mhmmm! We're getting married at the very end of the year. But we've been dating for gosh... almost 5 years."
She had to genuinely try not to immediately start gushing about wedding details, and/or Azzo details, and stuff when the congratulations was offered, silently noting the whole 'secret identity' thing. It was hard though, because by now almost everyone in her personal circle was pretty tired of hearing her gush and go on and on and onnnn about it.
"Nice to meet you too Olga." A gloved hand reached out to return the shake as she beamed. It was always good to hear that if people were talking about you it was under good terms.
It was on this thought of secret identities and names however that she finally seemed to realize just how long they'd been standing below that tree, and how much longer than that she'd been powered up. If anyone had also been powered up and decided to head this way... they could be showing up at any moment.
"I should probably get going before I draw too much attention though, and you should probably head out in case someone comes looking for me." She frowned apologetically. "But I wish you the best! It's always great to meet a new compatriot." One more wink, and a mild half wave, and the senshi pivoted, grasping the sachel of groceries she'd left alongside the tree before bolting off towards the buildings that lined the park. Lucyal You best be coming the wedding girly >o<
