History

Emy's family life was always busy. Between her mother, father and older sister, there was never a dull moment. Life was great and Emy couldn't be happier. They lived in a larger community and Emy and her sister had lots of friends between the two of them. There was a large age gap between the sisters, however, and as they grew older, Emy and her sister grew apart some.

When Emy was seven years old and her sister was seventeen, disaster struck their family. Their mother became sick. It started out slowly and looked to be just a common cold. By the time it developed into something bad enough to warrant a doctor's visit, it was too late. She was given a year, at the most, to live.

Emy, as young as she was, didn't quite understand what was happening to her mother. As time passed, her mother became weaker and weaker. Not even halfway through the predicted year, Emy's mother was bed ridden and the doctors hand changed their prediction to 'any day'. Her mother pulled Emy aside and placed in her palm the necklace she had always worn, telling her that it had been passed down through her family to the youngest daughter, and she wanted her to have it.

The next day Emy's mother passed away. Time seemed to slow down for the Tanshry family after this. The situation was explained to Emy as best as anyone could manage but she still found herself waking up in the middle of the night, screaming for her mother.

Six months passed as the Tanshry family grieved and when things with Emy didn't change, her father decided it was time for a change of scenery. He packed his two daughters and their belongs up and headed out of their small city and to Asphodel. He'd heard word that Ava had opened the door to her schools to the nixie and figured that, along with the change of scenery, it would be a great chance to give his girls a chance at an education that was more inclusive than that of the nixie.



At nine years old now, Emy is just about to enter into her first classes at the academy and is nervous. She loves her heritage and where she came from --- and most definitely isn't ashamed of her race --- but she's nervous. Her life up until a few months ago was nothing but nixie and the occasional grimm. And she wonders how the other students would take to her. Her contact with other races has been sparse as of yet (as she just started in the academy). As such, she's held back judgement and holds no bias towards any certain race as of yet.



Emy is glad to have been able to choose which academy house she was to study in. She was even more happy when one of them specialized in sciences and alchemy --- two of her favorite subject matters. She can't wait to start classes and is looking forward to doing the best that she can.

When she first arrives at the academy, Emy's shyness means that she doesn't make many friends. At first she will stay at home as she adjusts to their new surroundings. Once things are settled and her sister is off to university, Emy will eventually move into the dorms (maybe with a roommate). Slowly, over the course of her life at the academy, Emy will open up to a select few and her school life will greatly help with her social life.



Her goal in life right now is to just survive school. She's still finding herself and still figuring out what she wants to do with her life in the long run. And though her school she picked shows her interest in the sciences, a long term goal is not something she's decided on for now.


Positive Traits

• Intelligent - Despite her quietness, Emy is a very intelligent nightmare. While she'll study for her classes, it doesn't take more or long for her to start understanding a subject.
  
• Curious - Emy is infinitely curious and always questions certain things (though usually just in her own mind). She's constantly trying to figure out how things work.
  
• Creative - Emy is a creative soul. Outside of her classwork, Emy's main two hobbies are creative ones and she's good at both of them.

Neutral Traits

• Private - Emy doesn't like to talk about herself. It's not that she doesn't want to make friends or get to know others...it's just that she's new to the academy and her shyness keeps her from wanting to put herself out there.
  
• Competitive - Despite being a private person and shy, Emy is inherently competitive. She will strive to be first in class and if anyone challenges her, she'll do her best to win.
  
• Absent-minded - Studious as she is, Emy still has a tendency to forget things if she doesn't write them down in her little calendar book. Important tests, birthdays, etc. A lot of times this conflicts with her perfectionist behavior. So she does her best to write tasks down. Once she realizes she's forgotten an important task, she beats herself up until she gets it done and gets it done right.

Negative Traits

• Perfectionist - Emy strives for perfect everything and this can cause problems in her personal life. She wants straight As, perfect hair, clothes, etc. Being a perfectionist has also helped her photograph skills, as she will try over and over until she gets the task correct. Though this is not always a good thing and can stress her out at times. Especially if she can't get something right.
  
• Shy - Emy won't make the first move in anything --- friendship, relationships, debates, etc. And most times she will remain quiet until she really gets to know you.
  
• Obsessive - This goes hand in hand with perfectionist. She will obsess over things until they are perfect.

Personality
Her traits will need some explanation, a sentence or two as to what those words mean for her personality and how they shape her as a person. C: Try checking out one of the approved quests for an example!

So far her traits look good though!

She also needs a section on how she feels about her house, as well as how she feels about her own race and other races.


Backstory
Her backstory looks good! This isn't mandatory to fix but I'm curious as to what drove her and her sister to grow apart? Was it age difference or the loss of their mother? How does she feel about the gap between them?

Feelings on Other Races
If you would just add that she doesn't know much about the other races and is a little shy about meeting them - but doesn't have any particular biases or positive feelings about them - into the actual bio rather than leaving it in the parenthesis, that will fix that bit!

Academy House
If you could elaborate a little bit on how she feels like she's fitting in with the other Enoch students, that would be wonderful! Does she dorm with the other Freshlings, or live at home with her family? It's okay to write this from the perspective of how she'll be after she's settled in - since it seems like she's literally just arriving from the sound of the quest so far. : D

Personality Traits:
They look pretty good! There are some conflicts with "Absent-minded," "Perfectionist" and "Obsessive," though. If she's obsessive and a perfectionist about things, she likely wouldn't be able to handle being absent-minded. These traits could work well together with a little expansion, though! What happens when she forgets something? Especially if she's capable of forgetting something like an important test. If expanding isn't an option, I think a simple solution would be to either remove absent minded, or remove obsessive. It's possible to be a conditional perfectionist!

(Of course, for the expansion, a simple explanation of what sorts of things she obsesses about/is a perfectionist about would help- is it just her hobby? what are her priorities with remembering things?)

Personality Traits
Ah I definitely wasn't saying that she couldn't be both a scatterbrain and a perfectionist - I'm also a scatterbrained perfectionist. I was just looking for some expansion to see how those traits work together, since without it they are conflicting traits.

The new bit in her absent-minded trait evens things out a lot better. Thank you for adding that!
