Caper pulled his plush closer, one of the ears practically in his mouth as he pondered. He hadn't lived with Evan for very long yet but even so it was still a little overwhelming to be without her at times. She was comforting and as far as he knew, the Imp provided great hugs and good advice. Like be polite. He looked about, watching as some of the other Freshlings played about. The caretaker wasn't far off, but as long as he had a faint smile on his face they didn't seem to mind he was off on his own.
"Oh!" Caper gasped, feeling something solid collide with his back. The Geist turned, eyes wide as he clutched his bear close. "You ran into me," he announced, seeming flustered for a moment as he informed Korvau of the obvious. He hadn't been expecting that, drifting off aimlessly into his own thoughts as he wanted for Evan to come pick him up from school. "That's -" he faltered for a moment. What did Evan teach him? "That's not very nice I don't think."

Finally, out door play time! This was Korvau's favorite time of the day - even if he had to stay within a certain area. That was fine! There was plenty of space to run around here - which was exactly what he had been doing until it came to an abrupt stop when he ran right into someone. He'd just gotten distracted was all! Someone had tossed a really shiny ball into the air and his eyes had just been glued to it - which was why he hadn't seen Caper in his path.
He stumbled back a little, almost tripping over his tail as it attempted to balance him out before he fell over. He blinked, shaking his head a bit to reorient himself, ears flapping around with the force of it... He then stared at Caper for a moment before gasping aloud. Not nice!? OH NO!!!
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!! Are you okay?? Did I hurt you?" He immediately launched into a series of questions as he looked Caper over. Oh boy. He didn't seem hurt... OH BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PLUSHIE!? "Is your bear okay?? It's a really cute bear! I like it a lot!!"

The Geist glanced down, violet eyes a bit dim with worry as he held his bear out at an arm's length. "He's not dirty," Caper declared, running chubby fingers over the plushie's face before drawing it close again. "It's just a stuffed bear. It isn't real," he tried to assure the other, squeezing the animal's arm yet. It didn't have to be alive for him to care about it.
"It's okay," the Freshling forgave easily, tilting his head as he put on the faintest of smiles. "I think it's pretty cute too," Caper murmured, still fixated on his plush. "But I don't have a name for it yet. I just got like," he searched for the word. "Last week." Okay, it had been longer than that, but he hadn't quite masted the fine art of telling time yet. He just knew morning from day and that later could mean before bed, or sometime after he woke up again.
"I'm okay," he finally concluded, lifting his arm a little within his baggy sweater. Not even a thread out of place.

Korvau nodded enthusiastically, tail immediately whipping into a fast wag. Good! He wasn't hurt! And neither was the stuffed bear. Fake or not, Korv would hate to have damaged it somehow. "I know!! But it's special huh??" He tilted his head, listening to what Caper was saying. He sure did talk slow! Then again, not many people Korvau talked to spoke at the same pace he did. He seemed to live life on overdrive, after all.
"Good! I'm really sorry I bumped into you. I just saw a really shiny ball over there and I had to look!!" He pointed up, in the spot where the ball was when he saw it, of course it was long gone now. Who knew where. "I'm Korvau! What's your name?? I never seen you before, are you new?? Do you live here too? What house are you in??"

The Geist considered, head tilting in the opposite direction, long hair flopping over the slightest with the motion. "I-I think so," Caper offered unsure, running his hand over the soft front of his bear. It had been given to him as a parting gift from the orphanage. He had liked the caretaker there that had given to him so yes he supposed it was special.
He followed where Korvau directed but he failed to locate the ball in question. Caper wasn't sure to make of that but before he could challenge the validity of Korvau's explanation, the other was launching into more questions. "My name is Caper," he murmured, taking a moment to try and commit the other's name to memory. He wasn't too good with them but he hoped he wouldn't forget this time. Evan said it was something that got better with age and he trusted her - he was getting older every day! "I don't live here, I live with my new Mom," he informed with some enthusiasm. "She brings me here during the day so she can work." He smiled a little, clearly thinking of the older Imp as some sort of admirable idol.
"I'm in Enoch but I don't know what that means," he admitted with a soft sigh that was almost beyond his years. "Do you know Korvau? Are you in Enoch too?" He glanced around to the others playing. "Do you live here with everyone else?" Oh man, he was starting to feel a little bit like an outsider now that he was thinking about it. He brushed his bear's ear over his mouth again, sighing a little.

Korvau beamed widely, wiggling in place as Caper started to answer his questions. Maybe he should talk a little slower? Like he did with Nex? Suddenly he began to wonder if all Geists (or Geist hybrids) were slow talkers... Hmmm... "Hi Caper!!" He finally gave him a proper greeting, and then gasped. "You have a mom?! I have two friends that have moms!! And one of them even has a zaza!" He nodded enthusiastically, causing those ears of his to flop all over again. "I think that's why Willow and Nex come here too! So their moms and zaza can work. Or something. Maybe go to school? I dunno. I never met them before!" He shrugged, then blinked...
"Oh! Nah I'm in um. Eldr....... Eldreetch? Eldrach? Eldritch?? I dunno, the "E" one with the purple!! I dunno, my caretaker told me that when I grow up I'll go live in the special rooms with only other people in the "E" house 'cause right now we all live bunched together." He nodded, satisfied with the information he was able to divulge. "Yeah! I got dropped off a loooooooooong time ago. So I live here forever!"

Caper blinked. He hadn't met anyone else with parents yet. Maybe he should find Willow and Nex himself sometime? It seemed like something fun to have in common. "I don't think it's bad to live here," he added like a little diplomat, smiling faintly. "The Academy is big and old." Caper grinned, pulling at the end of his hair briefly. "Forever is kind of a long time though," the Geist ventured, expression showing some momentary concern.
"The other E-one is also cool," he echoed, hugging his bear tight as he swiveled the slightest at his hips, having quickly warmed up to the hybrid boy. "I hope you make other E friends so you can all live together." Caper thought for a moment about that. He didn't have many friends (or any at all) but the idea of living in a house with a bunch of his favorite people seemed fantastic. He already loved living with Evan so much.

Korvau nodded, forever was indeed a long, long time... How long was forever, anyway?? He should ask a caretaker sometime... "Yeah! I dunno how long it is though... Maybe my caretaker will know." He grinned widely, and bounced in place a little. That poor caretaker would end up getting interrogated later...
"The other E? Um. UMMM... EEEEnock right? Eno-ch?" He tilted his head to one side, then shrugged. "I guess so!! They do all the science-y stuff right? With the s'plosions and the chem... chem-ee-cals?" He frowned as he sounded the word out... It was a big one! Very difficult to say. "Me too!! I can't remember what houses my friends are in though... Maybe we share some already."

The little Geist hummed in agreement. The caretakers did seem to know a lot, didn't they? He rolled onto his toes, looking around for them. They still seemed preoccupied with other students needing more dire attention. Caper just smiled a little. "Well, if I was your friend and lived in Eel-rich," Caper informed, sucking in a breath with a rosy cheeked smile. "I would be happy to live with you."
He squeezed his bear a little but closer, his whips floating away from his body. Caper was content and Korvau seemed very, very nice. He had no doubts the bright Hybrid would be fun to live with. "You saw a ball before - is there something we could do quick before we have to go inside?" Caper asked eagerly. They didn't have very much time left, but they simply had to do something together before they were rounded up and sent off to their next class. "My bear can sit out if he has to." Three was sometimes a crowd.

"Me too!!" He grinned happily, tail wagging behind him a little faster than before. He tilted his head at the next question, thinking... He had seen a ball, but it was gone now... where did it go...? He looked around for it, but with no real luck. It definitely was gone... OH! But the see-saw was open!!
"THAT!" He pointed as he exclaimed, then looked back to Caper. "THE SEE-SAW! We can do that!!" He nodded, hopping in place a little as his excitement skyrocketed again. "He can come too! You just gotta hold on! Or I can hold on to him." It looked mostly like a demon's tail, but Korvau still had the prehensile nature of an Imp's tail.

Caper tilted his head, twisting his little body so he could eye the mentioned playground equipment. "I like the see-saw," he agreed in an even, mellow voice before casting his eyes down to his bear. "But he doesn't like heights. It's s'okay. He can watch."
Not wanting to lose out on this opportunity to play with Korvau, the Geist bounded just a little ahead of the Hybrid in order to clam the equipment properly for them. While he was always okay with waiting for his turn, there was a matter of beating the recess clock before them. Settling his bear down first in the grass that framed the outside of the playground section, he shimmied his way onto the narrow seat. Despite the equipment being Freshling sized, Caper had to lean up on to his toes in order to ensure that the other could still reach the seat. He strained the slightest, but he hid it behind a short laugh.
"Can you make it jump?" he asked with a curiosity, his stubby little legs not appearing to help with much.

"Yay~!" Korvau hopped with glee as Caper confirmed that he liked the see-saw. It was one of his favorites since it was one of the only times he got to be tall. "Okay!!" He trotted off after Caper to the see-saw, then waited for him to get on before he stared at his end of the bench.....
Could he get on..? Probably... He looked down for a moment at his equally stubby legs, then at the bench with a squint.. hm. "Ummmm, I think so!" He nodded, then carefully put his hands on it to pull it down a little - something that might lift Caper, he wasn't sure about it, but either way he'd long since learned to be careful with the see-saw.
Once it was down to a level he could easily climb onto, he slid onto it and then held onto the bar. "Okay!! I'm ready!" He grinned at Caper, tail wagging excitedly as he pushed his feet off of the ground.

He fell forward ever the slightest as Korvau got situated, planting his hands on the smooth wood of the see-saw. Nothing bad, just a little rock as the hybrid found their way onto the seat. His expression of surprise turned into a soft smile of delight, and he wiggled his feet as he dangled the slightest. It was probably to their advantage the two were of such similar build, for with Korvau's push they didn't go too fast nor too far. Caper laughed, leaning back as if upon a swing.
"Is that high?" he asked as the other went up, but before he knew it he was being elevated again too. The Geist kicked, trying to aid in making their game as fun as possible. "Whoa," he breathed, turning it into another airy laugh. Sometimes things like this startled him, but in reality it wasn't too tall nor too fast, and sending his bear a glance, he tried to shift his weight to help Korvau back into the air.
"When - when we're done, you'll have to show me how we stop!" Caper requested, the idea crossing his mind. Oh no. How did they stop without one of them plummeting to the ground to their butt?

Korvau shook his head a little, not really thinking that it was all that high. "Naaaah!! This is good!!" He giggled excitedly as he headed back down, and then pushed off again to send Caper back to the ground... perhaps a little more rough than was necessary... but he was excited!!
"UMMM...." He blinked, looking around. How did they get off again...? "UMMM..... YOU GOTTA.... YOU GOTTA...." He frowned, tail swishing in thought as he tried to work it out. "We gotta try and be level! Or, or, or just make sure to be REAAAALLLLYYYY careful when you get off." He nodded, ears flopping about from the sheer force of it.

This was quickly turning into a wild ride. Clearly somewhere along the line Caper had misjudged Korvau's level of enthusiasm for things. White knuckled, he hung unto the handlebar, hair bouncing from the force of the seesaw. As he came back down, his butt slid the slightest as his eyes flew wide as he tired to stay put.
"Carefully!" was the word he clung too, pushing off the ground with far less force than the hybrid, mostly for the fact he came down way faster than every anticipated. In his head, he imagined this was only going to end with him bailing off on the ground. "I-I really don't think my bear would have liked this," he advised a bit nervously, pink eyes still blown wide.
Caper was fretting for his hold, the metal bar growing more and more slippery the longer her squeezed it in his clammy hand, and relief almost washed over him as the shrill sound of the recess bell let out. "Ah!" he gasped, immediately sticking out his legs. It had been a short ride, but the fluttering in his chest seemed completely okay with that as he floundered to bring it to a stop.
