Tirranna
3nodding

Celendria: Tossed her head as she stood quiet as always a top the ridge she loved standing upon. Her senses tuned with the winter and everything surrounding it. Her mind drifted to the thoughts of the silly human she'd befriended, whom was stubborn about staying safe. A whicker escaped her throat that almost sounded slightly like a laugh. Humans were strange creatures, she agreed on that one.

Mkodi-
(:snugs Talencia: whee

Er, this is dusty, just so everybody knows...I'm popping in and out of my mule account. heart )

Rowanoak is traveling back from meeting Intrepid on the beach...she can't leave the baskets for two long. She hopes they grow soon, so they can accompany her...they're rather tiresome now, to look after. She's used to a little more excitement from life, having to be patient is wearing thin on her nerves.

She jogs across the snow in the field below the ridge, her tasmanian tiger stripes standing out easily against the whites and blues, her breath coming out in a little chuff every time she exhales. But she stops, suddenly, a little wild-eyed, as a nicker sounds through the air. It's not one she knows...in a minute, Rowanoak is looking up, to spot Celendria on the ridge.

Yayoi-
The little dark green and black basket sat nestled against a tree not too far away from where the others were. It moved slightly as the small foal inside of it sat impatiently wanting to be released from its prison. Small whining noises and grunts could be heard coming from inside. The foal took a deep breath then sighed heavily. She could tell it wasn't all that warm outside and staying in her basket was a good thing. But she wanted to get out and explore because she was tired of being inside the basket. She wanted to meet other Soquili and possibly make some new friends. Her little ears perked to the sounds of the others and she whinnied a bit louder in hopes that someone would come over and at least notice her basket.

Shariea
Chepi's leg was still bothering her, but it wasn't as bad as she had thought. She could put pressure on it now, and walk at a good pace, and that was better than being stuck in the village. She had set out early that morning in search of the winter apples, although with the snow and recent wings and gales she was sure most where ruined by now.

The tall woman sighed and swept a few strands of raven hair from her eyes as she looked around the snow swept valley. Undoubtedly she was more careful today than she had been lately, paying close attention to the snow banks and where she was putting her feet. It was for this reason that she noticed the basket tucked away beside a tree. Blinking she tilted her head and knelt beside the tree. Her fingers brushed atop the weaving on the lid and with a start she fell back against the trunk as it moved. "Oh my!" she exclaimed, and laughed a bit to herself.

She had heard tale of these baskets, with the new born babies too weak to face the world put inside. Yet..why would one be placed all alone out Here. Her fingers against caressed the top of the basket as she bit her bottom lip, resisting the growing urge to peek inside.

Dancing upon the wind the distant sound of two whinnies reached her, perhaps the parents of this lonely basket. She smiled to herself, and sat back against the tree, waiting for the horses to arrive.

Tirranna
Celendria: As she stood there listening to the wind smiled deeply. The grass was growing quite nicely around her feet as it emerged from the snow. Lowering her head she broke off tender shoots that were both sweet and enjoyable. As she finished and raised her neck back upwards she noticed the tiger striped mare that stood at the bottom of the hill.
The ice mare observed her and realized it wasn't anyone she'd met before. Releasing a greetings, she whinnied high and loud so Rowanoak would know she was on her way down.

Trotting, she pulled herself into a full gallop as her feet carried her in the chilled wind. Her coat gleamed like ice as her mane and tail whipped behind her like white water rapids after a melting snow. As she ran she also noticed a familiar face in the distance. The human known as Chepi whom she recognized in a mere instant. But the thing that puzzled the mare was what Chepi was doing or rather looking at.

Mkodi-
Rowanoak isn't certain she wants to meet the ice mare on the ridge...she hasn't had pleasant dealings with other mares before. In fact, she really hasn't met anyone save Pallaton and Intrepid...she's spent that last many moons on her own. Still, she's already been spotted, and turning tail doesn't really seem like an appropriate gesture at this point.

Besides, she has larger problems on her hands. Nickers come from somewhere nearby. and squeeze her maternal heart. That's a foal! What if it's one of hers? Frantically, the brown mare turns about, dark braids clattering against her neck as she all but races towards the sound, only to find...

A human nearby it. Did this thing steal one of her babies? Her ears snap back, and a warning chuff escapes her, and she moves forward aggressively, before she realizes...that's not one of her baskets. In fact, it's not one she's ever seen before, and she halts, sending up a spray of snow and throwing up her head, nose dilating to catch the scent of the two-legger and the basket.

Yayoi
The basket wiggled more as the foal outside could hear the sounds of movement around her. Her little heart raced with excitement almost causing her to loose her breath. She nickered softly and sniffed the scents that were coming through the basket. One that was close by smelled like another Soquili, while the other one smelled like a human. Though not like her own human who had left her out here to get a breath of fresh air. She moved about in the basket more, her ears swiveling this way and that. The one Soquili sounded really close and she could feel an air of aggression around her. But as soon as it went away she settled back down in her basket listening closely to all the sounds her tiny ears could hear.

Shariea-
With a Gasp Chepi pressed herself against the tree, throwing up her arms to shield her from the approaching horse. Perhaps she had errored in staying by the basket, and not all soquili would take as kindly to her as had the handful she had met.

Her brow eyes peered up frightened over her arm as she looked at the angered horse. "I'm sorry." she said Mistakenly thinking this basket and the foal inside belonged to the enraged mare. "If you just let me pass I can leave now." she said again, taking her eyes off the mare to glance down at the basket, which was wiggling more than ever now.

Tirranna
Celendria: As she neared closer realized it was a basket that Chepi was sitting with. But her ears pulled back in agitation realizing also that the mare she had greeted seemed to be angry and seemingly attacking Chepi. Her gallop became smooth as she stretched herself out to move faster.

A cry rang from her lungs to the new mare, "Stop. Don't hurt her!"

She snorted as she skidded to a strained halt not to far from Rowanoak.
Pawing the ground she stamped her foot as if to draw attention. Her ears were pinned to the back of her head as her whinnies were broken and spastic. Her chest heaved at the commotion that she had witnessed. This human wasn't like stories she'd heard before. This one was gentler and caring. Stamping her foot again she whinnied, "Do not injure that human. She means you no harm."

Mkodi-
The brown mare doesn't put another hoof closer to Chepi, however, just stands there and stares at her suspiciously, almost accusingly.

She flicks an ear back, and is entirely grateful to Celendria for a brief moment for seemingly coming to her support, until her last statement filters through Rowanoak's brain, and she swerves her head around, snake-like, towards the icy-blue mare. But one ear remains trained on the two-legger, as if she didn't trust the other not to try something.

Her ears are still snapped back, and she looks quite angry. "She's a human," She snarls at Celendria, her tail cracking in agitation. "She's probably stolen that basket."

Yayoi
The small foal inside the basket listened closely to what the other Soquili were saying. She frowned lightly and shook her head. Stolen? She hadn't been stolen. Her human had put her out here to get a bit of fresh air since she had been inside her humans teepee for most of the time she was in this wretched basket. Gaining the courage deep down in her chest she spoke out. "Um...sorry to interrupt your...co...co...conversation. But I wasn't stolen. My human put me out here so I could get some fresh air since its kinda stuffy inside her home. I see that it..might of caused some...c...conflict but I don't think she meant me any harm." Her voice was soft and unsteady. She hadn't really talked to anyone so her speech wasn't all that great. Her tone had more of a child like sense to it than anything else.

Shariea
With a scared glance above her arm at the second set of thundering hooves, Chepi slowly looked above her arm. To her amazement she say the velvet blue of the icy mare, and her heart seemed to skip a beat. What followed seemed to be a conversation in guttural tones and grunts, and chepi slowly dropped her arm to her side.

The mare's being occupied with one another gave chepi a chance to get herself out of immediate danger, should the stripped mare chose to go on the offensive once more. Slowly she pryed herself away from the tree which she had been backed up against, and silently as she could move in the snow she ebbed herself away from the mares.

Soon enough she had placed herself on the far side of the basket, when it started to move again. Tiny garbled tones and whimpers, grunts and snorts seemed to come from within. Was the foal inside trying to communicate with the mares outside. Her eyes went wide as both sets of eyes seemed to glance over at herself once more, and the basket at her feet. Seemed she was not quite out of the woods yet.

Tirranna
Celendria: Watched the the striped mare as as she also kept her other upon the human. She pawed the ground and nickered trying to not get anymore agitated then she was. But what happened next made her concentration break off of any attacks she might have to follow through.

The basket's contents tried to communicate.

From what Celendria gathered, Chepi was not the one at fault here. Her fur still stayed rigid but she lowered her aggression against the other mare. "I think... there's a severe misunderstanding here. That is if the foal is telling the truth." she said softly as she relaxed a bit more.

She watched Rowanoak with caution for she sensed this was a maternal mare whom had her own foals. "Perhaps.. we should just introduce ourselves." she said with a bow of her head politely in respect, "I am Celendria whom hails from the mountains. This human befriended me, and I looked over her when she was injured." She hoped that perhaps her relaxed words would change the storming emotion around them.

Mila Farrell-

She's astonished when the basket starts to talk...or, rather, whatever's in the basket starts to talk. Neither of her children have ever spoken yet, at least to her knowledge...although one of them, the one that has her stripes, is definitely active enough. The other is...quite quiet. But neither of them have spoken, or even tried to speak. This foal must be almost ready to come out, she assumes.

Her dark gaze comes up to meet the other adult female's. "Rowanoak." She doesn't give where she lives, however. Only Pallaton knows where the babies are...and that's the way it's going to stay. "Humans ain't trustworthy, at least on the whole. Slave Drivers." She says, raising her voice so that the basket's occupant hears, and throwing a significant look towards Chepi. "Shouldn't let her stay around the little filly." Her ear follows the two-legger's movement to behind the basket, like some kind of do-it-yourself radar.

Yayoi-
Listening closely to the others, she frowned lightly as she heard them exchange names. She hadn't gotten a name yet so really couldn't introduce herself. As she listened more, she blinked at the suggestion of how humans were or "two-leggers" as the one called them were. She hadn't even come out of her basket yet so she didn't really know if it was true or not. Slave Drivers? What was a slavedriver? She had no clue what the one meant and couldn't really come up with her own definition of what that word meant. Shifting in her basket she sighed and listened more to what they were saying.

Shariea-
Chepi's brown eyes quietly watched the mares, as they grunted and chuffed. She bit her bottom lip softly and took another step back from the basket and the tiny foal within. However, in doing so she stepped upon a rock half hidden under the snow and pitched her foot sideways on the slick surface.

She tumbled down into the snow with an audible gasp and lay there still for several seconds. With a grunt, and slowly turned over and looked down at her foot, it would be a few more days before it would be fully healed now. Since when had she gotten so clumsy? Even in her childhood she'd never been this bad!

Tirranna
Celendria: Nodded to Rowanoak with more respect. She longed to have foals over her own at some point, though it was only in her dreams she saw Euphoria a lot these days. And with reason for a winged won't stay too long in any given place when their heart dreamed of the skies high above.

She turned to look at the basket with a frown, "A human left a basket in the middle of the plain? I wonder why though?" she queried with another flick of her ears. "Little one are you safe? Does the cold bother you?"

She looked to Rowanoak and sighed. "I am a wanderer and have traveled with the winter since I can remember. This is the first year I have traveled from the mountains. I know nothing about the coming seasons, nor things that appear with them." she politely said as she noticed Chepi had injured herself yet again. Blowing outward she wondered what this spring season would bring her. Woe or happiness if she truly did stay as she had wanted to.

Mila Farrell-
(:quietly tackles Xaki: )

Celendria's speech seems to calm the fiery Rowanoak, and she flicks her ears backward once, in a kind of brief apology. She shrugs at the first question (whoever knows why humans do the things they do?) and just listens curiously to the icy-blue mare directing her conversation at the basket.

"It's been a bit of a warm spell lately," She says absently, "But usually it's much colder than this, especially at night. Freezing...but I suppose you know that, if you've traveled with winter. The only good thing about the snow is that it makes it harder for the wolves to hunt...Spring'll come soon, though...the weather gets beautifully warm here in the springtime, and everything melting and all," She finishes with conviction. As much as she loves the wintertime, it's dangerous: too much snow and a Soquili can break a log, and be easy prey for whatever starving hunters are out there. She quivers at the thought.

Rowan's head drops, and she inches forward as Chepi inches back, so that she can sniff the basket. "Hey, kid, you got someone to stay with? You just aren't safe on your own out here, if night falls." To all extents and purposes, Chepi could be a dung beetle, for all the attention Rowanoak pays to the human's injured state. No, this mare clearly doesn't think two-leggers are worth caring much about.

Yayoi-
Blinking a couple times as she curled up tighter in her basket she shook her head. Not that they could see it or another. "No. I'm not cold. My basket keeps me n..nice and w...warm." Her speech was still a little shaky as she listened to them talk for a while until the other talked to her. "I have someone to t...t..take care of me. My human or t..two-legged you call. I'm sure she won't leave me out here all night." Her small tail hit against the inside of the basket as she settled herself again. It was fairly cramped inside and she wanted to hop out and stretch her legs. Take her first steps. But it seemed that she just couldn't muster the strength to do it yet. Though she knew soon she would be free.

Shariea-
Quietly watching everything, she seemed to be let off the hook and then totally ignored. Chepi really didn't mind though, better to be ignored than scorned. She curled her legs up to her chest and quietly watched the mare's sniff and nudge at the basket. Her lithe fingers trailed through her ebony tresses as she tilted her head.

Quiet was something she was good at, and surveying the two mares she was glad of that. The icy mare had witnessed her fall, yet again. Her cheeks flushed in mild embarrassment, and she manages a meek smile to the mare before her eyes transfixed back upon the wiggling basket.

(( Rein got kidnapped for Food and Movie ^^ she said she'll be back later ))
