To say that she was getting used to her herds hostage like position was a bit of a stretch. Blossom didn't think anyone could get used to that ..but she was getting used to the routine the guards had put in place. For the most part every day went about the same way..as long as everyone behaved they were fed, watered and allowed to sleep in relative peace, aside from a few snide remarks here and there but her mother and the rest of the adults seemed to be doing as much as possible to keep her and the other foals away from all of that.
Today however things seemed..different, the regular guards had been replaced with one they didn't know and the bad guys leader, a mare named Pirata was moving off along with some of her more favored minions. Lifting her head Blossom tried to see where they were going - something that could be difficult when you were only about as tall as some long grass. Nudging the hoof next to her she asked "What do you think is happening?" In her typical quiet tone.

Things had settled down in the herd. Yes, they were still at the mercy of Pirata and her army, but now that they had fully submitted to the mare things had become as close to normal as they could get. For all that they had been through, the foals had fairly pretty well. Sure they were very scared at the beginning, but the adults had rallied around them and kept them safe. Syn was thankful that her father had been such a rock through all of this. He had always proved himself to be a smart and strong leader to their small little family herd, but it had never been more evident than when Pirata had come. She took his way to heart and did what she was told to do, even if it went against what she believed, because it was the right thing to do for the herd.
These thoughts were interrupted by a tapping on her hoof. Looking down she listened to her granddaughters question. She had noticed the change too, their normal routine seemed to differ today but she wasn't quite sure what the significance of it was, if any. "I'm not sure." She told the filly. Syn wished that she had the answer, but she didn't and lying to Blossom would be bad. She had not heard anything from the spider mare recently, but then again, that odd mare hadn't said much to them and tended to keep her plans quiet, only talking to her minions at a distance from the confined herd. Lowering her head she gave the filly a nuzzle. "Let's watch and see if we can figure it out." They wouldn't be able to follow the group, but perhaps they could figure out what was going on by simply observing for a bit.

Blossom was slightly disappointed that her grandmother didn't seem to know what was going on butgiven that no one really told them anything from the bad herd she couldn't really blame her. "It must be important - all of the important Soquili are going with her." She commented thoughtfully. It hadn't taken long for them to figure out who the higher ranking members of the invaders were and they rarely all got together like that unless something important was happening.
Maybe..maybe they were finally being rescued..it was a hope that Blossom was too afraid to say out loud. Not only because she was afraid to jinx it but because it might make the guards angry and things never went well when the guards were angry. "Maybe someone is coming, that is the way to the mountain path isn't it?" She finally whispered, surely something as simple as that couldn't get them into trouble.
