Fall had finally reared it's head in Destiny City, the last of the warm summer nights long gone. Dahlia loved the crispness of the air and the coolness that settled in as soon as the sun sank beneath the horizon. The summer was often oppressive to the long haired cat but fall.. fall was a beautiful treat.
But fall had a funny way of digging up melancholy feelings too. Perhaps it was the falling of the leaves, as colors burst brightly before falling and dying. Leaves that crushed and turned to dust forgotten beneath the feet of people who paid them no mind. Maybe it was the shorter days and longer lonelier nights? Whatever the reasoning a funk had settled onto the Mauvian this evening, and as she traveled the rooftops silently she sulked.
Her mind was drifting, thinking about Benitoite and his new cat. Of all she'd lost in the last year or so. As she glanced around she realized she didn't even know any place nearby, had no 'home' in this part of town to slip away into even if she wanted to. Tail swishing in frusteration she hopped from one roof to the next, bad mood resounding.
((Sorry for the crummy start, my brain's been bleghh all day))

Albireo was growing more and more distant from everything. She hardly powered up, and it was getting so bad that she was hardly even ever leaving her bedroom. Nothing seemed to bring her any joy anymore and the depression she was feeling was starting to overtake every aspect of her life.
Tonight though, tonight she was out, and powered up even, sitting on one of the many roofs in the city. The stars were bright and the night was beautiful, but for all she saw of it, the beauty did nothing to lift her mood, and the senshi sat, absentmindedly playing with a lock of her hair, giving a heavy sigh.
She had thought that dancing was going to help absolve all of her issues…but even that had lost its charm and glow.
Nothing was worth it anymore. There was just no point.

It was likely the chaotic aura was drawing her, subconciously, as she made her way across the rooftops. It was just the kind of social creature she was, constantly crave the attention or affection of someone and something. But the cat hadn't really noticed if she had been following it until her eyes caught sight of something in the dim light of the night.
The figure was still pretty far ahead, but as a cat she had the benefit of better nocturnal vision, and even from the distance there was something familiar about this sillouette. The hairstyle... the fuku.
The moment the realization hit her Dahlia bolted forward, jumping across the distance between their rooftops before tiny feet carried her quickly across.
"Albireo?" Her voice called out, as if making sure it wasn't a mirage, it'd been so long since she'd seen the beautiful swan. Why hadn't she tried to hunt the senshi out sooner than now? Had the senshi replaced Dahlia as well, like Benitoite, after all this time? The answers to the questions hardly mattered right now as she quickly braced the distance between. It was difficult to focus on much of anything, no thoughts really made any sense to her anymore, and the sound of her senshi name…it was like a foreign language. Slowly Albireo looked up, raising a brow. “Hm?” She wasn’t sure what she was supposed to be looking at, and finally she saw the small fluffy feline.
“Oh. Wow.” How long had it been since she had seen Dahlia? Her corruption? Had that really been the last time?
Before she could stop them, tears had welled up in the corrupt senshi’s eyes and she looked away, feeling…very bitter.
Everything had been better when she was with the white moon. She saw Dahlia more, saw Jarosite more…heck, she liked herself more even when she was tortured with the line between right and wrong…
Because when was tortured…at least she had the right part. Right now everything was wrong. Everything, every little thing was just…wrong. “What are you doing here, pretty kitty. Come to pretend you care or something? Or have you come to tell me I’m the worst corrupted senshi ever and don’t deserve to be a part of the Negaverse and I should come to the nearest General King for my beheading.”
It all would have made sense. And she just didn’t care. She felt nothing but…empty darkness. Dark emptiness? It was all the same thing.

There was excitement in her steps, the delightful thoughts of a happy reunion clear on her opinion. Really the distance couldn't have been braced faster in her opinion. But those thoughts were crushed immediately as Albireo's words cut through her like a knife. And as if hit by an actual knife her motion was stilled, slowing to a stop a couple lengths away as her ears fell to pin back against her head.
The bitterness was evident and palpable, and if Dahlia hadn't experienced her own bitter anger lately she might have been more angry about the lashing out. Not one that enjoyed her faults being pointed out. But after Benitoite... and Falco... The feelings of empathy were too strong.
Had she really done to Albireo what they had done to her? Abandoned her for the other side? Replaced her with someone else? No.. she hadn't quite gone that far... but she'd been terribly neglectful nonetheless. Inexcusably neglectful if she'd caused the same sort of pain in the sweet senshi as she herself had been feeling lately.
Her ears slowly crept upwards once more, fidgeting on her paws though she kept the slight distance between them, finding it unlikely the senshi wanted to be touched after that. Her tail, usually held high above her back was now low, almost brushing the dirty rooftop. "I have not been a very good guardian." She offered, a truth that she would speak to no one else. Perhaps she'd spent too much time helping Negaverse agents instead of senshi. Too much time searching for love and attention when she'd clearly already had some that she wasn't appreciating.
"You're not in trouble and ever if you were I wouldn't let anyone punish you." She added softly. Apparently, she'd unintentionally already punished the senshi enough.
