As the sun began to set the moon rose high over the horizon. In the distance a wolf howled while another answered in response. The little wolf walking by the ethereal ice mare's legs couldn't help but call out herself. After she made her greetingl she looked up at the mare who stood still as a statue staring up at the blackening canvas of a million lights. She whimpered with a little nudge of her muzzle against the mare's legs. By first sight she appeared frigid in temperature as the wintery winds would chill your soul. But, this creature was warm as blood flowed through her very being. She was both eternal and real all in the same.

The tranquil female paused her observation to crane her neck in a slow guide to touch muzzle to nose with the little wolf. If was a calming gesture Amadahy was always used to when Celendria reassured her things were fine.

Raising her head upward again those wintry soft silken locks draped around her neck once more. Her silence was always noted this time of year for winter was coming. She had grown from filly to elder in a smooth glide over life and trime. A respected figure being both wise and enchanting held a precious secret deep within her breast. It had had been nearly 10 years and still there was no word. They'd return as promised but when was a query lost in the winter gales.

For a moment those cerulean eyes held that visual again then the silence was broken softly, "Nearly ten years Amadahy. I know they will return to me as we all made a promise so very long ago."

Her eyes returned to the glistening sky as her heart never wavered. Always watching, always listening for those hoofbeats and wings upon the wind. To be reunited with her family she lost so many years ago. "I've felt him Amadahy. I've felt Celeduin's presence returning. I just don't know when... I just know."

The little wolf sneezed as the autumn winds tickled her nose. She was loyal by default to the ice mare that accepted her. She never had family or pups of her own but Celendria was her family. She didn't understand why her friend stood each year in that very spot. What the little wild canine did know is Celendria would never waver from her quest of finding what she held most dear.

As her daughter Isabella's hawk Astor have been used a messenger between Frosta and her sister Celendria, but one of those days, the hawk overheard the talks about their brother coming and cawed loudly, making a beeline toward the ice mare because she was closer to his location than Frosta is. After quickly letting the ice elder know about the news that was floating around about the said brother, he got sent over to Frosta to pass the news and relay the location to meet up with her sister. "Celeduin, your brother is on his way to the lands, Frosta. Celendria wants to meet with you so you guys can seek him out." Astor cawed out the words to the dark blue mare.

Frosta have been travelling across the lands, meeting her large family and reforging bonds with those that have drifted away from the family or isn't aware about Frosta and other parts of the family. It have been a long journey but it is worth it for her because she have brought some of the family members back into the fold along with adopting extra children like Amberlee. Astor have been working overtime to pass the messages between Frosta and Celendria while Frosta was on her travels so the sisters could stay in touch with each other which the wintery female is forever grateful for.

Heading back to her mountain range, Frosta sees the familiar dark figure zooming toward her and she smiles happily at Astor. "Astor, what's the news with Celendria?" She inquires to the hawk as he lands on her back and she turns her head toward him with a smile. As the hawk cawed out the words and message from Celendria, the smile faded from the mare's face and replaced with a confused frown. "We have a brother? his name is Celeduin?" She inquired and when she got confirmation in the hawk's nod. "Lead the way." She says with a smile as the hawk cawed with his large wings spread out, he took off zooming away with the dark colored mare galloping behind him with her pale mane and tail streaming behind her.

As the sun starts to set and the moon starts to rise, Frosta's soft blue eyes had to stay on the hawk as he flies up ahead, cawing out the directions so she won't trip or stumble over things as they moves toward the destination Celendria wants them to meet up at. A loud caw from Astor announcing their arrival to Celendria and the wolf could be heard before he flutters down on Celendria's back, making soft tired clicking noises with his beak. Frosta emerges from the shadowy trees she had to pass through, the moonlight hitting her dark blue body making her look like she is part of the night world with her ethernal blue mane and tail swaying little bit while she moves toward her sister with a smile. "Celendria!" She dances up toward her elder sister and nuzzles her. "I have heard about our brother! Celeduin right? When do you think he is coming?"

The elder was deep in thought when she heard within the chilled air the wingbeats. It was like a dream momentarily, but the haunting reprise of his wingbeats were like melody within the wind. Her withers prickled yet she remained calm. So many questions lingered whist answers would be revealed. It was both a welcome and a forlorn gesture that tugged at her heart. She was always the dreamer that pondered more than the rest. A contemplative soul that seemed to linger within reality and endless queries. Her eyes never betrayed her hidden excitement nor did her breath which formed upon the air from her nostrils. Winter was coming early this year as the last leaf swirled downward toward her feathery hooves.

She did not flinch as the hawk landed upon her back nor that her sister bolted toward her. Celendria only blew out in a gracious greeting she was there, "He is coming dear sister. I've heard the wingbeats upon the wind...".

She shook her head looking upward again, "So many queries I have for him Frosta. So many answers I fear the results." Her voice seemed to linger as if in a dream.

Amadahy was still confused but she knew Celendria was wise in her words. The little wolf looked upward as his the mare she was bonded with. A shadow lurked in front of the moon leaving an imprint upon her along with a scent. Was this the stallion that she called brother the wolf wondered? She inched herself closer to the ice's mare's leg seeking warmth perhaps. As the figure approached the little wolf could make out something flying it just wasn't in view yet what it was. Definitely a stallion she noted which stirred a bit of excitement in her along with wonderment. Celendria's words were riddled which hopefully this stallion could finally answer. For now she would simply keep a vigil and learn.

Frosta smiles as she snuggles up to her sister while Astor spreads his wings out, fluttering out the skewed feathers and she looks up at her sister when Cel spoke. "Our brother?" She murmurs as she stretches her neck out, looking off into the horizon with a pensive look in her light blue eyes, trying to remember her brother but it was all bits and pieces of memories since she didn't have that great start of her life. "Are you sure its not Astor's wings you are hearing?" She teases her sister while she giggles, glancing over at the hawk whom just looked at her with an even stare before going back to grooming.

"Regardless the results, Celendria.." Frosta softly says as she noses her sister under her muzzle in an affectionate manner. "We will get to have our brother back and our family will slowly be reunited again. We do have our half sisters Aspen and Celsius.. and if I recall.." She looks at her sister. "We have one more full-blooded sister as well yes?" She inquires while she turns her head toward the horizon once again, her tail swishing lightly behind her while she stands beside her sister, waiting for their brother to come.

It had been nearly 10 years if not past since he seen them. With powerful wings the silhouetted stallion made his way back to where it had all began. A lingering shadow full of depth and mystery swirled deep within causing sorrow and pain at the same time. Such a tale of woe and despair he dared not spread the infectious notion unto his siblings. They were innocent, simple children hidden from the truth from a tragedy such as their family secret. Only he knew which was cause and effect. A spiral of years buried not lingering over the edge ready to spill the truth. He closed his eyes as he continued his journey trying not to think of the negative.

"You know" replied a little voice the silence, "you can't dwell on it or it will eat you alive. She spoke softly with a lyrical ring to her voice as the tiny songbird grasped onto the inner cascade of the stallion's mane. She shivered horribly but didn't show her dissatisfaction of her companion's progress.

"This is for the good of things. For you and them. Sure you've kept it hidden this long but its bound to come out sooner or later. That's how things are."

She then sneezed clinging tighter to his neck for warmth.

The stallion sighed and nodded, "You are right Isabeau. I promised myself and you I'd see them again", he then chuckled, "but honestly you know the winters are cold. Why did you venture out with me? You'll freeze out here. see it's snowing already."

Isabeau kept herself nestled deep, "I know I know but honestly.... I needed to see this for myself".

The stallion saw them standing there in the falling snow as he made his descent toward the ground. "Its about to get colder. Hang on".

Isabeau braced herself wrapping more of his mane around her, "I'm ready".

Swiftly he dived toward the ground like a shooting star heading in fast yet calculated. '

"It's now or never" he thought to himself" as he pulled out his wings again landing smoothly with barely a sound. Fate spoke loudly singing a verse of positivity. Or maybe it was a tiny songbird singing for reassurement as he took his first along waited steps back to the past.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Celendria listened to her sister nodding, "Yes. The youngest ... Avalon".
The mare wondered where her youngest sister was or even how she fared. Frosta was the first to come back now followed by their brother. Perhaps Avalon would as well.
She then turned to her sister shaking her head, "No its Celenduin. We were the first born of the siblings. He was born a few minutes before I was. So I suppose we're connected in some way." Her words seemed distant yet they were full of promise. She returned the nuzzle from her sister warmly and breathed contently. Her world formed much like the ice caverns ; a puzzle nearly finished soon.
Looking upward again a single snowflake then another waltzed downward and landing upon her muzzle. Then they cascaded downward like a light rain dressed as ballerinas in white tutus. It was time.
Her hooves began to dance as she smiled watching him spiral downward toward the ground a distance away.
"Frosta! Its time," she called out nipping her playfully then racing out into the meadow to meet her long lost brother as the snow fell gently on the ground around them.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 07, 2016 7:31 am
As her thoughts swirls around inside Frosta's head, pondering about everything since she was very young when she got swept away in the river despite her brother's frantic attempts to save her and she sighs lightly while Astor fusses over her mane. "Avalon...." She allows the name to roll around on her tongue because she doesn't recall meeting her youngest sister when she hatched. As the hawk's body stills and Frosta notices that, looking at the hawk's direction of the stare before Celendria starts to dance excitedly and a huge joyous smile spread across her face.
"What are you waiting for, ladies? Your brother awaits." Astor says with a huge smile on his face before he spots a snow colored hawk soaring into this direction with a lantern dangling from her beak. "Looks like we are going to have more company as well." He cranes his head before he spreads his wings out heading out to meet the rather large hawk that seems to be soaring without any idea to where she's going.
Frosta blinks as she finally sees a large ice snow leopard hawk soaring toward them but her primary focus is on the brother she haven't seen since she was a filly. When Celendria pointed to the spiral descent of their brother, she couldn't help but does a small excited dance next to her older sister before she takes off after her sister with an excited smile on her face and joy in her soft blue eyes. Their manes and tails streams behind them as they races toward the meadow and she throws her head back with a loud spirited whinny, announcing her joy to anyone within the earshot of them. "Celeduin!!" She seems to revert to her filly self as she sprints up ahead of her older sister and she trots toward him, her ears brimming with ears while she couldn't stop smiling ear to ear. "I can't believe you are back, Celediun.." Her voice seems to take on a shaky tone while she fights back the tears of joy.
There's only one thing she wanted in her entire life and that's her family being reunited once again.. and its happening! Frosta's hooves continues to do the excited dance as they reaches to the large male, she extends her muzzle out to reassure herself that they are not dreaming. "I have missed you so much, brother.."
Letting his hooves touch upon the ground they sank in the white powder forming around them. Finally the ice stallion had kept his promise feeling the icy caress of winter along his flank. His promise met regarded his arrival with familiarity noting the two mares running toward him. Closing his eyes he stiffened feeling the impact of Frosta as she was the first to intercept in joyous greetings. Buried within his mane he heard a lyrical giggle knowing Isabeau was amused while keeping her feathers from freezing.
He called out in a deep whinny to his siblings forgetting the guilt he had pushed back for now. His eldest sister was returning behind Frosta though her gait wasn't too straggled as she made her way toward them. Flicking his ears he noted there was something more graceful if not mystical about her. By her side he noted the wolf pup she had befriended now adult running by her side. Once she had caught up to the gathering did he speak, "My sisters" he blew outward with a cherished greeting, "I have returned as promised. I'm sorry it couldn't of been sooner".
Celendria moved slowly upon reaching her brother blowing out softly as her breath crystallized in the falling snow. "Welcome home Celendúin" she nodded with a dip of her graceful head. Momentarily before his arrival her heart lifted into a gallop then it slowed when she was in his presence. Being an elder her mindset sensed her brother's inner struggle leaving that for further discussion. For now she cherished that single moment he was finally here where he left them as foals ages ago. There were of course questions if not answers he'd someday repeat unto her but simple appreciation came first.
"Ive missed you both" he spoke with a tilt of his large head, "But, where is Avalon?" Celendúin knew his siblings leaving the youngest to query most about. The winter storm had stolen memories and dreams even though in the finale they had all survived with broken dreams and metaphors to replace their sorrows. Feeling Isabeau shift he winced a bit feeling his mane pulled tighter around his lyrical companion. It had been a few months ago when they had met Dheneb and her feisty companion Stardust leaving the little songbird a bit mopey at times. The stallion noted past that horrible greeting that Isabeau actually started falling for a young protective bird acting like he was an elderly sort at first glance. Planting it feverishly in his mind he'd find Dheneb again so Isabeau could see the male that somehow weaseled the way into her heart.
Sighing to himself he approached his sisters moving in forward to nuzzle them both trying to regain that lost sense of family he adamantly pushed away all those years. Guilt is a heavy conscience lying upon one's back making things difficult to repeat in fear of retaliation. Each respective greeting as he nibbled his sisters showed them his honest emotions for missing them. A gentle whicker followed in suite simply saying, "I missed you" without a voice to speak the truth.
Celendria returned the nuzzle with her own whicker that was soft and inviting, "We've missed you as well my brother. Avalon will return when she is ready. We're all adults now so each has chosen their path as our children have for many years now."
Deep in shock he looked at the two of them with mild shock and amusement, "Children?" he blinked once again looking at one to the other.
Celendria nodded with a soft laugh, "It's been ten years old brother. Of course we have children sired onward to great grandchildren and so on. You've missed quite a lot as the moons have passed and yet there's so much that's happened to you I'm sure."
The tall stallion chuckled willingly at his eldest sister then looked at Frosta, "and you have great grandchildren as well?" Suddenly, a shiver had run his spine remembering the outcasting he laid upon his sisters to hide the truth. Instead of letting it begin gnawing at him he asked another question, "Avalon. Does she have children?" Knowing his eldest sisters had given him a bloodline legacy was both inviting and overly stimulating all at once.
Celendria shook her head, "I do not know if she has Celenduin. After the storm struck we were all separated by the North winds. It's taken us years to find one another again. Feeling a small warmth against her legs she moved more around her companion to block out the cold setting in. "Amadahy seems to be not taking the cold well. Come both of you back to Tirranna's campsite. We'll get her and your companions some warmth" she regarded to Frosta and and her brother.
Always a mystery his sister portrayed sensing Isabeau shivering in the silken strands of her brother's icy mane, "Very well. You may lead the way sister. Frosta will you be joining us?" he looked at the darker blue mare with a smile. Being born in the mountains gave closure to the cold winds though he pondered if his sibling in her elder years now felt the coldness settle in her bones and soul.
After a moment of foal-like exuberance and joy, Frosta finally starts to settle down and starts to really pay attention to the details and she blinks when she notices that Celediun is definitely different than before. He appears more reserved and uneasy about something and she nuzzles her brother once again before she tucks herself under his wing like she normally does when she was a foal, churring quietly hoping that her presence will help him feel more comfortable. The question floats around in her head- What happened to you, Celediun? Why are you so uneasy, brother? but she knows that he will tell them when the time is ready.
"Avalon..." She frowns a bit as she shakes her head sadly. "I haven't seen her since she popped out of her basket, Celediun but welcome home. We have so much to tell you and show you!." She goes silent as Celendria and Celediun exchanged few words and she giggles at Celediun's surprise about a huge family they have created. "Yeah, I have lost count after great-great grandchildren." Her voice goes soft as her eyes fills with sheer love when she thinks about the family she created with Kinguyakki and Skah and soon to be Rajanikant if things are going down the path she's thinking they are heading down. "We will have to start introducing you to our children so they can proceed in introduce their families they have created. You will be very proud of the huge family we evolved into."
"What about you, Celediun? do we have neices and nephews somewhere out there we can spoil?" She smiles at the brother before she noted the familiars shivering and she feels the familiar pressure of Astor landing on top of her back along with other hawk. She looks over and smiles warmly at both hawks whom is hunkered against each other trying to stay warm. "Yes... our little ones need to warm up. And I am sure you are very hungry, brother. Tiranna always make really delicious treats. You won't be disappointed. You need to meet Miaoka as well. " As she moves with her siblings, she keeps up a stream of small chatter with both of her siblings.
A soft glow shifted and moved through the trees, the soft thump of hooves against the ground. The glow pouring light from a small lantern hung from the clasp of a feathered caplet. It had been too long since she had walked these trails, seen these trees. Many had been saplings in their own right, reaching high for the sun as their elders sought to protect. These days were cold and growing colder, the darkness even seemed to have a hunger about it. The winds pulled at the mane and ruffled fur. But steady went the mare as she followed the glow of her lantern.
"Are we there yet?" asked a small goat as it scampered beside the mare, trying to keep up in the dropping temperatures. "Its getting so cold out here it feels like my horns are going to fall off."
The mare stopped and looked down at the goat, it certainly was shivering. Its blue coat looking bluer then normal, frowning, she looked around. Shelter had to be found and warmth given, things weren't going as well as it seemed, not that the winter climates agreed with the goat all that much. "Alright, we will find some shelter. Perhaps there is someone near by that can aide us in that search."
Unbeknownst to both mare and goat, a family was gathering not too far a head. One she hadn't seen in years, well, most of them she hadn't. She had met one, her elder sister, who was indeed and elder, Celendria. She had mentioned meeting with another of her family to welcome home their brother. She, Avalon, was going to be the icing of this meeting. it was sure to give the others a heart attack for sure, but it would be nice to have the four of them all together again. And be a family!
"Come one SnowDrop, it shouldn't be too much further. I think I can hear faint voices." Even though she knew these voices, her memory fuzzy, but she knew them. With SnowDrop muttered about the cold trailing behind, Avalon pressed forwards towards the gathering of three.
Celendria moved with her siblings a feeling of ease and tenseness feeling her eternal being. Joyousness had soothed her heart finally seeing her brother upon their promise. Still lingering silently within wonderment surrounded her thoughts with her brother's internal struggle. Her own murmurings were soft as the snowfall gently resting along their coats and the ground. Though they were grown she still felt the aura and kinship each carried as a foal since their abrupt departure many years ago. It boggled her mind how something like an impervious storm could of made them forget their own bloodline. Deep down the elder remembered bits and pieces of those fateful nights still trying to piece them like severed memories agelessly lingering yet unreachable. When neither Isolda or Frost returned with their brother even as a filly she knew something had happened unexplainable the family in a whole. Now with her brother returned walking close by his side her mind traveled backwards to the abyss that struggled to bury that which should remain. Shattered visions blinded in the snow burned her eyes remembering herself standing there in the snowstorm calling out for their parents. Simply a small creature the biting winds of frozen teeth pushed her away from the answers she sought.
Amadahy padded alongside her companion still confused but a better understanding seeing the other siblings of Celendria banding together. Her nose picked the scent of a hawk drifting off, a bird, and something far off heading toward them. Winter generally snuffed out such scents even when her tiny nose tried working overtime to figure things out. Her instinct told her the bird was somewhere with the stallion curled in a ball most likely trying to keep from freezing her feathers off. The other scent drifting off further was intriguing as well because it was actually two scents that were in progress to join the family. Looking upward she noted her Soquili companion was deep in meditative thought for the time being.
Celenduin breathed outward his breath swirling in the cold air wondering why Isabeau decided to take this trek to the foot of the mountains. Curled upon his neck she had literally wrapped as many strands of hair as she could muster around her shivering little form. Looking around him the stallion noted how Celendria had a small wolf at her side. Small in stature this canine stayed in sync with her companion. A harmonious duo who fully understood each other no matter what species barrier there was made him almost envious. Isabeau he connected to on a certain level but it was more her making initial contact in the first place. Simplicity created from a greeting and curiosity led her to tag along for many adventures.
His gaze then turned on Frosta whose voice was innocent with curiosity. Directly beneath his wings she stayed close to him. Forever her eldest and larger sibling in the family. Appearance developed in his father's image Celenduin carried a much different demeanor. Even in his handsome features would he ever betray his future mate should he ever take one even in the disguise of temptation. While he slowly forgave Frost for getting their mother killed he donned upon the words from Dheneb allowing himself to forgive and find solace within himself.
Finally he spoke slipping out of his thoughts, "I never took a mate Frosta. Most of my life I was alone till I met my companion Isabeau. She who is currently so tied up in my mane I wonder if she'll be able to breathe properly. He chucked momentarily, "She doesn't approve of the cold yet here she is with me".
A swirling vortex of possibilities danced around him wondering what his nieces and nephews look like. Within those 10 years he truly had missed a lot but deep inside he knew they had been safe, "Indeed. I can't wait to meet the family" he nodded his head in approval.
Amadahy paused her ears flicking toward someone incoming closer. Her scent picked up a goat and a mare which she sensed were probably who the family was looking for. Pausing in her walk she leaned her head back releasing an eerie yet long sounding howl. Even in the snow that was picking up the wolf's voice could carry over miles. This particular howl was regarded to carry off to two distinct places. The first headed homebound letting her daughter know so Tiranna could be alerted. The second wave she released to the blustery winds swirling around her was a greeting to the incoming mare and her familiar. A simple "We're over here" was all that was needed. Amadahy was indeed a special wolf friended by others and of course Celendria.
Slowing to a halt the elder noted Amadahy's strange gesture howling out into the crystallized air. She breathed in the air curiously understanding the set of howls the little wolf released to the air. It seemed a search of possible disappointment combined with reality taking shape. She paused in her own walk standing there with her beloved canine familiar knowing her siblings would cease their movements as well. Breathing in once more she spoke only one word, "Avalon".
"You never taken a mate the 10 years we all have been apart, Celediun?" Frosta says with a small frown, her heart clenching with sadness and compassion for her brother because she couldn't imagine the pain and hardship he went through when he tried to go after her when she was a foal when she got swept off into the river. She always knew that something else have happened that is way more severe than her being swept away and the family being split apart forcibly despite the fact that there were already tension when her mother suddenly disappeared. As she allows her older siblings to sandwich her while walking in the direction of Tiranna's teepee, her eyes seems to glaze over as her mind starts to wonder about things like what really have happened to caused Celediun to distance himself little bit from his siblings and where did their mother go to because she just assumed that she is following her mate's footsteps. "Celediun..." She finally opens her mouth to inquire about those things because she would like to know what happened so she could have the full story and fully make peace with it.
As the hawks moves closer to Frosta's mane and neck to try to stay warm, Frosta turns her head toward them wondering why she didn't bring the blanket with them like she usually does. "We will have hot bath for you guys to sit in." She smiles warmly at Astor and the new hawk. "Hello there. I am Frosta. I normally have a basket with warm blanket inside for any critters. It have slipped my mind. I apologize." She smiles gently, feeling an instant connection with an icy hawk when she connects eyes with it. "Well... well.." She smiles brightly at Celeste as she noses the hawk fondly. "Looks like we have a lot to talk about." She turns her head toward her siblings once again.
Celeste Lixue's body shudders as she hunkers against Astor, wondering why she's not moving along heading toward the warmer areas instead of sitting here being cold and miserable. She looks at her friend grumpily and was going to inquire to why she's still sitting here but the second her eyes connects with Frosta, she knew that she finally found her soquili counterpart. "I am Celeste Liuxe but you can call me Celeste." She clicks her beak and leans over to connect her beak with Frosta's muzzle, knowing that they will need to take some time to get to know each other but not right now. "Thank you. I will look forward to that hot bath." She tilts her head at Frosta before she leans heavily against Astor's body shivering more.
As the wolf suddenly stops, Celeste Lixue's head raises up and looks into the direction of the newcomers with sharp look in her eyes before she spreads her wings out while hopping up to Frosta's head. When Amadahy tilts her head back and let out an long eerie howl, the hawk flaps her wings furiously while squawking, adding her calls to the wolf's cry. It is probably not so reassuring that two predatory creatures are sending out a call to the newcomers...
Frosta suddenly goes still as the vibrations in the air seems to be different, almost like it is a ghost of the past floating toward them and she looks into the direction the wolf and hawk stared into. With each step, a familiar blue mirage appears over the hill when the wolf let out a long eerie cry and the hawk joined in with her own call and Frosta's breath stuttered to stop when their elder sister breathes out one word that other siblings didn't dare to utter- "Avalon". The swirl of emotions rises up into her chest as she inhales sharply while her eyes goes wide when she looks at the baby sibling of the family slowly approaching them. She looks at Celendria first then at Celediun, overwhelmed with emotions that she have been keeping under the control.
Over the years, Frosta have embraced the life with child-like joy and sometimes naivety but that naivety went away over the year but she is always vigilant and observant along with keeping her emotions in the tight control. It is quite rare to see Frosta shed tears or lose control of her emotions because she's always smiling and looking out for other soquilis. "Avalon...?" Her eyes stares at the mirage that kept appearing in her dreams occassionally along with her other siblings and now, its right there physically and she's not sure what to do. Her body trembles with barely restrained energy because everything inside her is screaming at her to just run to her baby sister and curl up around her like she used to when they were foals.
However, Frosta is fully aware that Avalon might not remember the siblings and they will have to get reacquainted with each other since she was really young when the siblings were scattered into four winds. With a shaky smile, the younger female breaks away from her older siblings and slowly starts closing the distance gap between the last sibling of the family and rest of other siblings. "Is that you, Avalon?" She softly calls out to the unicorn, hoping that it wasn't a mirage that all siblings are seeing and sensing in unison.
Cresting the hill to glance down at the gathering bodies of varying blue. Her head tilted to one side as she observed them. Two were of the brightest blue, one being graced with wings and a horn kind of like her own. The other larger in comparison, a mare of course. Perhaps even at the rank of elder, she had heard of such ranks, but never witnessed one in her travels. Never staying in one place for very long. The other, one, she was a darker blue, darker then Avalon herself and she was dark along her back that faded into a variant of lighter blues and white swirls. The three had apparently stopped, or at least two had anyways that she could see. The darker of them turned and started in her direction.
It wasn't the approach of the mare that made Avalon step back, but the off set of other noises that came from the group. The howl of a wolf and the sudden addition of a hawk? Looking down at the half frozen goat, Avalon looked back towards the mare and further back the other two.
'Is that you, Avalon?'
This had come from the mare that approached slowly, drawing the distance between them smaller and smaller. Avalon remained where she had stopped, even if it was a step back from previous, she eyed the three before looking back towards the mare.
"Is been a long time. Frosta. You haven't changed." Avalon said with a smile, her braided tail flicking behind her slightly. "Seems we are late to this party."
SnowDrop gave a groan before wedging herself between Avalon's front legs to stare at those before them. Soon looking back up towards her charge.
"Can we go yet? I'm FREEZING DOWN HERE!" she voiced quite loudly, hooves stomping the ground.
Avalon sighed as she stepped away from the goat, while she was mostly the kindest creature around, in the cold she wasn't one you could live with. Moving closer towards Frosta, she brushed against the darker mare, her tail flicking to trail along her back before heading towards the other two.
"Been far, far too long."
Amadahy shivered through her coat could withstand a torrential blizzard. Her emotions were clearly adjusting to the family reunion recessed in the ice covered with snow. Tilting her head she watched the Brother, sister, and youngest of the herd all merge into one location spread out before them. So many scents both familiar and old conversing over a ten year span of aged memories kept well preserved in their hearts. Keeping next to Celendria's foreleg her nose twitched trying to gather who was who in this icy bunch.
Celendria stood still her nostrils creating a breath that crystallized in the deepening snow fall. First Celenduin followed by Avalon her youngest sibling that slowly formed back in her eternal life. Soon they would all be warm in the teepee including the familiars that shivered in the cold. Amadahy most likely was the only kindred soul there able to withstand the frigid temperatures surrounding everyone yet she still uncontrollably shivered despite the fact. Normally she was standby leaving the younger siblings to bond before her initial introduction. Stepping forward she noticed Celenduin had made the first move. His large furry fetlocks grazing over the powdery snow as he made his way to Avalon. Serenity settle inward with a simple tear forming in her glistening eyes. Every wish, every promise, everything she had ever dreamed manifested before her as an illusion in the snow. Remaining in her vigil she'd be the last to greet her sister reliving the duty to her brother and Frosta. Amadahy now was sitting between her forelegs watching the scene. Craning her head downward the elder mare nuzzled her patient small companion.
"Soon Amadahy we shall return. Just a little longer you must wait".
Celenduin waiting patiently stepped out before Celendria to greet the youngest sibling. His head dipped gracefully as he continued to make his way toward Frosta and Avalon. Being the youngest from the gathering he knew her least of all. Merely lost among the memories he tried grappling to remember her more than Celendria and Frosta knew. Avalon was a second breeding between Frost and Isolda resulting in his family growing but the thoughts before the storm minus his guilt he could never harness to save his own sanity.
"Avalon" he spoke deeply yet there remained a tenderness in his words, "welcome home my sister".
Sanity at best sometimes lingered while other times it slipped away in the cold recesses of one's mind they had forgotten. Walking toward her he dipped his head toward her, "Come your eldest sister wishes to speak with you". Blowing outward his breath waltzed in the haze of cold seemingly crystallizing as it drifted upward toward the flakes falling downward. Knowing his siblings though he would have to explain his feelings over time. Nodding to her he stepped the opposite way to join his eldest sister standing patiently for everyone to assemble where she stood.
Whirling snow swirls danced around them now leaving his mind to wonder about Isabeau. Not once had she murmured a peep going dead silent once the snow began to fall. Her usual ear splitting trills of a snore were no longer noticed which generally made his concern rise. While waiting for Avalon and her companion to join Celendria he spoke quietly to his feathered companion, "Isabeau you haven't uttered a word since our decent. I'm growing concerned about you freezing out here. Say something before you make me panic".
She had been impulse in friendship joining him when his mood was lower than the setting sun. Before Dheneb and Stardust she had acted as his conscience leading his mind to finally rest before their descent to this place. Her moods never appreciated cold atmospheres but she dared to stay with him in the dead of winter as the snow swirled around his bulk glowing blue against the white powder. Closing his eyes he spoke again, "Isabeau. Don't you freeze on my you stubborn songbird" besides what would your secret crush Stardust say if we didn't return to help Dheneb?"
Isabeau shivered tight in a ball silently scolding herself for attempting this. Her little form was gaining ice particles no matter how tight she glued herself to his shoulder. Trilling softly she responded, "Right as rain Celenduin. But, could you please get the party motivated? I seriously don't know how long I can withstand this cold".
Once the sound was uttered from her little voice he calmed a bit, "I will do what I can" looking downward at Amadahy he noticed even the wolf was shivering out in the dropping temperatures. Now it occurred to him why his siblings along with him couldn't traverse out into the endless cold. Remembering his pouting siblings he now thanked Isolda for her nurturing spirit to keep her family safe.
Turning to his sister Celendria he spoke, "My companion along with the rest joining us here are growing weak to the cold. We must reach shelter soon as our mother always instructed them to do on freezing wintery nights.
Before Celenduin had spoken to his sister Amadahy heard the faintness in Isabeau's voice. By now her own fur was crystallizing upon the tips of each hair. Now she did the one thing unexpected by beginning to whimper. It wasn't to annoy but to alert her Soquili friend they needed to be on the move soon.
Celendria noticed Amadahy was alerting her to the cold bothering most of the animals joining the reunion. Nodding to Celenduin's advice she spoke, "I will begin the journey home. The frigid winds bothered her only slightly but her concern for the companions was more in essence. There would be plenty of time to converse with memories now was the time to be sure there were no tragedies on this blessed night. Nodding to her brother she turned to head back to the teepee where the warmth would light all their hearts from glowing embers to beautiful flames.
