'Wow this place is incredible!' Meandering through the marketplace, a greenblood admired the various stalls. Over there a troll appeared to be selling miniature wooden bears and the stall across from him had homemade rugs featuring Alternia's favorite reality tv stars.
"You really can find anything you never knew you wanted!" The boy laughed to himself, surprised and impressed at the selection. He didn't have many beetles to his name currently and thus couldn't take home everything for sale here but was definitely determined to bring home a souvenir! His hive needed cool things for customers to marvel over! Expensive coffee table art books were beyond his reach for now.
A cluster of color caught Nucleo's attention and he approached the stand to get a closer look. A display of small paper animals sat happily for customers to examine but there was something missing- the owner! Confused, the boy looked around and didn't manage to catch anyone's eye to signal it was their's. Was this just an art piece randomly in the middle of the market? Would anyone mind if he... took one?
Pondering his next move, the greenblood reached out and picked up a little paper bird.
blackbird cake Tried to put Nucleo somewhere hopefully easy to get to! Now come to me Cutiedae! (God I sound like a creeper, nvm that last comment)

Ah, another Saturnight. Elidae had attended many of these, finding the variety of crafts and nifty findings citizens all over Alternia had to offer exciting. New Hemisect City was great for meetings such as this. Another reason why she loved living here. Everything was at her fingertips!
This night, she simply wanted to browse, but her bilesack rumbled so much after sitting for a good 10 minutes of looking (that's a great deal of time for this little ball of yellow) that she had to take a bit of a detour. Time to find that delicious popcorn stand that caught her eye when she initially arrived.
Popcorn in hand, Elidae aimlessly walked back in the direction of the booths, tossing a piece up in the air to catch it in her mouth. Of course, her terrible eye-hand coordination resulted in the popcorn falling straight on her forehead, bouncing off and away on the ground. "Oh, gosh darn it..." Ladydad flopped to the floor, immediately gobbling it up. Squinting down, she gave her lusus a questioning look. "Ew, Dad, that's gross." She ended up giggled anyways.
Looking up, something- or rather, someone, caught her eye. A curious looking boy, browsing the stalls. There was a long, drawn out gasp. "Daaaad... look at that haaaiiir. I wonder if they do it themselves." He approached a table and- hey, wait a minute! That was her table! Eyes widening, she watched with curiosity as he looked at a particular display, picking up one of the paper animals.
Elidae quirked an eyebrow, then gave her lusus a kittenish glance. Covering her mouth towards him, she whispered. "Do you think he likes paper crafts?" The boy had a great hair style and she couldn't let the opportunity to talk to him go to waste. With ladydad fluttering behind her, she approached the greenblood quietly with her hands clasped. A pause.
"Hiya!" Elidae chirped suddenly, hopping up to sit on the tabletop beside where he stood. She plucked up one of the small paper creatures, specifically an orange flutterbeast, fiddling it around in her tiny fingers on one hand, the popcorn in her other. "So, like, do you like origami?" She looked up at him expectantly for an answer, but kept herself inviting and friendly. Didn't want to scare him off, of course. Plus, he was definitely cute. After setting down the paper animal, Elidae tried to pop another piece of popcorn in her mouth, but just like last time, she failed and it hit right on the nose. She fumbled slightly for a moment, but regained her balance.
Kicking her feet, Elidae animatedly held out the small paper bag to the greenblood, giving him a sparkling smile with her snaggletooth prominent. "Popcorn?"

He'd almost convinced himself to take it when suddenly a voice called out.
"Hey!" Somehow Nucleo managed to twist the surprise in his voice to sound like a friendly greeting but just barely. Glancing at the girl who'd approached him, he was pleasantly surprised by a cute yellowblood who wasn't at least outright angry at him. He appreciated the unspoken 'you're gonna pay for that right?' in her eyes- she seemed nice to not outright call him a thief. It wasn't like he liked stealing, he honestly hadn't known what to do!
"Is that what this is called? Yes, it's pretty cool!" Not embarrassed to admit what he found interesting, Nucleo grinned as he placed the paper bird back on the table with the rest of the display. He couldn't wrap his head around what the heck this girl had done to make the papercraft but it was neat.
"You can make all those but can't catch with your mouth?" He teased, amused at how her coordination seemed limited to her hands. She had a nice smile and gave off a nice feeling, seeming playful. Accepting a kernal, the boy leaned back.
"Lemme show you how it's done!" Tossing the piece of popcorn up, Nucleo opened his mouth and snapped it up, catching the salty treat with a satisfied laugh.
"Here, now you throw one!" Making it into a game, he failed to realize he had opened the opportunity of revenge for his earlier jest.
blackbird cake Bring it onnnn! I can make any type of throw work! >: D Also that's fine about the booth, I left it open on purpose so we could use it however we wanted! : )

A flush of yellow appeared on her cheeks at the boy's teasing, but Elidae continued to smile regardless. Watching him intently, she kicked her feet with anticipation. When he did his popcorn act, she lit up.
"Whoa, whoa! Wow!" Elidae gasped and clapped in amusement, stars glittering in her eyes. The yellowblood was an extremely easy troll to excite and amaze, but that didn't mean it wasn't genuine.
"Here, now you throw one!" He said, and then a curious, yet mischievous feeling arose within her.
"Oh! Okay!" Elidae chirped, shooting him a playful grin. Picking two pieces of popcorn up, she wound her arm back, ready to throw. There was a pause. "If you don't catch it, you'll have to tell me your hair secrets!" Giggling, she threw a piece high up in the air, near enough for it to be possible, but not without struggle. Not soon after, she threw another piece in the same manner. "This one, too! Hehe!"
Doutei back on track! and it short, apologies!

"You're on!" Nucleo grinned, backing up a little while she wound up. Her gleeful voice matched his energy and he was glad he'd met someone willing to be a little silly for a moment! He fell for the first piece, diving to catch it with an excited laugh. It'd been hard to gauge where it was going to fall! Unfortunately for Nucleo, he hadn't noticed the second piece in time and it fell on his head.
"I did-Ack!" He started to proclaim before realizing she'd tricked him! He wasn't upset at being fooled though, just amused at the surprise. That was surprisingly clever from an unexpected stranger! The playful glint in her eyes made it clear it hadn't been an accident.
"You got me." The boy grinned. "What did you want to know about my hair?" He didn't use any special products on it. Excluding clones...

"Hehe! I'm sorry!" Bursting with giggles, the yellowblood felt both guilty and amused, but the boy seemed fine with her playful toss and so she was quick to recover. Kicking her feet, she smiled in response to his question. "I just love it! Its super cute!" Her mouth moved to the side, then she backtracked. "Well, not cute. Its just nice! Actually- wait, yeah, it is cute. I love the bun and braid combination! Do you do that every evening? What products do you use? Also, you have interesting markings. Is that paint? I like that, too!"
Sliding off the table, the yellowblood bounced on her feet clumsily, wobbling slightly and extending her arms out to stable herself, her face dropping in distress. When she finally caught her balance, she returned to a buoyant beam. "By the way! My name is Elidae!" Skipping closer to the greenblood, she fluttered her eyelashes and clasped her hands behind her back. "What's yours?"

"I do! It doesn't keep well sleeping in it." Nucleo admitted, as she showered him with questions. His cheeks flushed a little at the repeated proclamation that his hair was cute. It was really her who was cute! Those freckles and those bright eyes were enchanting!
"As for products, there's this natural shampoo they sell in Busthind. The shop is right next to my hive! It's really nice- and not too spendy!" It seemed like Nucleo would have to use some kind of hairspray to keep his bangs in check but his hair was naturally crazy like that. The braids helped to keep it contained, honestly. Her style looked like she might tease it out a little to add volume but such thoughts were beyond him. His focus was on keeping up with everything she was saying! Holding up his arms better so she could look at the paint markings, the boy grinned.
"Yep! I have these neat pens you can draw on yourself with!" Pulling one out, the boy offered it to her so she could take a look. She slid off the table to move closer and his biscuit started to beat faster as she leaned in. Those eyes...
"Nucleo." His voice came out in a surprised breath. He hadn't been prepared. Staring at the impish hint at the edge of her smile, he wondered why his fingertips were tingling. Then the sensation jolted him into realizing he was running out of time. His clone was running out of energy and if he wanted to collect him back, he had to get going right now. It was a shame to leave Elidae like this but he really hated the thought of letting his clones...
"I'm sorry, I forgot I'm late! Come by The Nightly Grind on Busthind, later, okay?" With a frantic apologetic nod, Nucleo hoped she would understand. Then he waved and dashed into the crowd, hoping his clone had remembered to head back to the meeting point.
