HP || 24/24 Attack ll 15 (+6) Defense || 13 (+4) Magic || 11 (+2) Speed || 15 (+3) Callum attacked Ming'we. (20 + 6)/2= 13 dmg. -------------------------------------------------------- Callum was full of pep. Not only had he managed to find his 'sister' in Sauti, but he was finally able to show her his skills. The young hybrid had poured hours of training into his techniques, and was eager to see if they would work out. Granted, he was also fighting against a Sniper so this would be interesting to say the least. Since he had no intention of harming Ming'we, at least beyond bruising, Callum wrapped a thick leather strap around the hilt of his sword and attached it to the sheathe. It was a leather thing as well and lightweight, but with the edge covered he felt calmer. At least this way she wouldn't be cut. "Thanks for meeting up with me Ming. I'll try to go easy on you." He teased. The trick of it all would be keeping up with and finding his opponent. If Ming'we hid herself away from him it would all be over. Callum ran the covered blade against his thigh and when he was satisfied that it wouldn't cut he dropped into a fighting stance. This was his first actual sparring match, and Callum knew nothing of restraint. The only other fight he had been involved in had been with the Alkidike extremists and that had ended terribly for him. He came at her with a swing, aiming for her torso. Heras Box If this is right and I didn't screw up I 100% owe Ming'we a nice steak dinner.

She grinned at him at little as he seemed to be a bit more energetic than usual. "Of course. How could I miss the chance to beat you in a fight?" Ming'we chuckled. It was just talk. Who won didn't really matter to her but she did want the chance to tease Callum if he lost. While he covered the sharp edge of his sword she switched out her deadly bolts for some practice ones. They had little pouches on the end that were full of color staining chalk. It helped her to see long distance if she hit center mass on a target. "And I get to give you polka dots." Another bonus to this friendly bout, she thought with a wicked grin.
When he came at her she was surprised by his speed. Ming had always known that Callum was quick but she'd never pegged him for a sword wielding speed demon. Slow in moving out of the way she practically leaped into the air. His advantage in taking her off guard granted him a full grunt from her as the impact of his safety sword smacked into her ribs.
Close quarters didn't help her with the crossbow so she had to settle for giving a defensive kick to Callum's rump as they separated after the encounter. The hybrid was still amused by the whole thing and added a lighthearted jeer to go with her weak physical attack. "Have you been dieting again so that you can be faster than me?"

HP || 24/24 Attack ll 15 (+6) Defense || 13 (+4) Magic || 11 (+2) Speed || 15 (+3) Callum attacked Ming'we. (5 + 6)/2= 5.5 dmg. Current HP: 20/24 ------------------------------------ Callum probably shouldn't have been as excited to get hit as he was. Honestly, the chance at getting covered in colorful chalk sounded pretty cool. Even if he lost he won in some way, though she likely wouldn't let him live it down for a while. All the more reason to come out on top. He dug his bare feet into the packed soil, wincing as his sword made contact. As satisfying as it felt to make contact, it still sucked to be 'fighting' against someone so close to him. A true warrior would be able to put up a mental barrier, especially for a spar. Callum just wasn't the type. He turned to follow her, and was caught off guard by the kick. Callum reached back to rub his bum. "That's just my dancing feet." He grinned, soft eyes a light with a mischievous glow. "Let's see if you can keep up." At the angle he was standing, his slash wasn't at it's best, but Callum gave it another shot. Heras Box I took a risk on another attack and it was a bad one lol.

Seeing him rub at his backside was a bit satisfying. Ming'we wanted to make sure she landed a blow every time he did at least. That way if she did lose then she could still keep her chin up. "Dancing eh? I thought you'd never ask." As he tried to slash at her again Ming moved back hoping to avoid contact altogether this time around. Sadly she was too busy trading words with Callum to be as efficient as she wanted. So once again she took a glancing blow!
It didn't matter. Her smug grin held as she half danced backward a few steps and lifted her crossbow to aim at him. In close range it made it a bit more difficult but she hoped to land a hit right in the middle of his chest. A big colorful dot would make a nice addition there! "Don't suppose I'll get a twirl will I?" The hybrid girl laughed.

He had been too sure of dodging her attack at close range that Callum foolishly decided not to step away until the last possible moment. It didn't afford him the chance he needed to get away. Instead, with a great 'omph', Callum looked down at his chest to notice a very bright, very colorful patch in the center of his chest. When he looked up the young swordsman was fighting down a laugh. "You know you'll only get covered in this when I hug you after this, right?" Heras Box I thought I couldn't Retaliate if I failed the Dodge? :O Since he took full damage and all.

Painted Moose Dodge is only half a move. You can retaliate if you wanted. EDIT: Oh yea.. sorry I meant to say you could have countered. It would require you to make a new post with a new roll. Which I just realized I have been doing wrong. XD Since I took half dmg I should have rolled gain for a counter not a retaliate. Hurrah for messing up!

Big bright spot! Ming'we took a moment to just grin at him stupidly. Then he said she would be covered with the color when he gave her a hug at the end. With a mock gasp she stepped backward. "You wouldn't.." As she spoke the hybrid reloaded her crossbow so that she could give Callum another spot of color. Without waiting to see if he would move she took aim and fired. "You should make the dots permanent, Cal." Ming laughed aloud then moved so that she could put a few more steps between them. Since he needed to be close to her to attack she wanted to ensure that he couldn't. Provided he didn't use those dancing feet of his to catch her.

Callum ducked underneath the bolt, bringing his body low to the ground and slipping to the side like moving water. "Only if I get to put one on that pretty forehead of yours. Right over top of your crystals. I think it would make a nice blend." He moved in close once more, raising his blade to strike. Even though he was beginning to tire Callum found himself actually having a load of fun. His sword was heavy, his muscles ached, and he was as sweaty as a Jauhar whore, but it felt good. Heras Box It's an experimental battle all around. xD Does that change anything about Callum's HP or does it stay the same?

When she saw that Cal had dropped to the ground to avoid her practice bolt she quickly went to load another. Ming hadn't expected that he would come at her again so quickly so she failed to dodge anything, taking the blow to the side with a squeak and a laugh. "Oh I will so get you for that!" Crossbow loaded and ready to go she stepped close to him and decided to fire from point blank or somewhere close to it. A nice blue colored dot would be her reward if Callum didn't move out of the way.

(14 + 6) / 4 = 5 DMG Current HP: 11/24 ------------------------------- At such close range Callum didn't stand a chance of fully dodging the blue bolt. While he missed a full on assault, it grazed his shoulder, turning a portion as blue as the sky itself. I'm going to look like a toddler painted me by the time we're through. It didn't bother him, though; the swordsman was rather pleased, actually. Even in a close range battle Ming'we was holding her own and proving to be a harder opponent than his already high expectations. That comforted him; he wouldn't have to worry about her being on her own. Still, that didn't stop him from trying to side step and thwack her in the back with the blunt side of his blade. Heras Box It's all good. BD Also, these colored arrows are totally giving me Swan Princess nostalgia.

Seeing the color bloom on Callum made her laugh. Not because she had struck him but because she had managed to color him blue! A short lived outburst since her best friend seemed to have reflexes like a Moracker! Those long legged rodents that Sauti was famous for. Unable to dodge the attack she got smacked clean across the back with the blunt side of his blade.
"Ouf! Now what am I to tell my Love when he asks about all these strange bruises?" Ming'we dropped her crossbow, deciding that she'd have no time to load it with Cal so close anyways, and instead took one of her color tipped bolts and leaped at him. Her intent was to tackle him to the ground and just start marking him all up with the colorful pad on her weapon.

He heard rather than saw the crossbow hit, as Callum was more focused on the leaping girl. As soon as the swordsman was sure he could flip her without hurting her he did, dodging the blow and putting Ming'we on her back in one fell swoop. He reached for her bolt, trying to wrestle it out of her grip while simultaneously trying to tap her with it. "Come on Ming, don't you want to be as colorful as me? We can paint those bruises a nice shade of red, or pink if you've got it."
