The breeze whispered through the trees at the edge of the forest, an expanse of green that hugged tightly together to create a near impenetrable wall. Hayate roamed the hills adjacent to the forest, overlooking the plain nearby. The sun high in the sky, everything seemed to hint at a perfect day, and despite all of that Hayate felt himself feeling sad; a feeling he often tried to avoid. Earlier in the day he had somehow managed to spill tea that had been gifted to him in exchange for stories, a trade he felt most proud of. The brightly coloured Kirin moved slowly in circles, his head turned downward and his eyes half closed in pensive though. Hayate at the moment cared not for the world around him, but found himself focused on the lost gift that seemed so much more precious now that it was lost.
Logic told him not to be so upset over such a simple thing, but Hayate felt guilt that he had not been able to properly enjoy the gift that he had received, and should he come across the one whom had given it to him, he would not be able to tell them how much he had enjoyed it, and it would never do to lie about it. The worries of spilled tea so clouded Hayate's thought that he did not notice anything going on around him, not the flies flitting around his ears, nor the dark clouds approaching from the west.

"Oh the cleverness of me...." The black mare murmured as she danced along, flicking her leonine tail. "One bear in a trap, lalala... Oh what a laugh, lalala."
With a humorous song in her heart Amacha Nigella frisked out of the forest with a prancing stride, pleased at the most recent trick she had played on an overbearing Skinwalker. The massive bearwalker had been roaring angrily when she sank him into the muck of the swamp, and she had flittered away giggling merrily as he struggled with the mire. Chances were he was still trapped there, and hopefully he'd stay that way until the nomadic herd he had been about to hunt had made their way to greener pastures. She had advised them of her plan before she'd taken off to get his attention, but she wasn't sure they had believed her.
The small pouch of flower petals they had left her to make into tea certainly seemed proof of their successful escape... Though she was rather bewildered as to how they had so readily accepted her aid, it was a fuzzy sort of confusion that also made her feel proud... Maybe she could do this, trick bad people for the safety of others. Regardless, she tucked the tea into a safe hiding hole and then went out to the hills to see if there was anything
"All's well that ends well, at least." She murmured, pausing to admire the high sun and fluffy white clouds. It was a seemingly perfect day, though her positivity was riding high from a successful trap so perhaps she was a tad bit biased.
Turning her head, she blinked in surprise at the oncoming storm clouds in the west, and the presence of a brightly coated stranger. "Oh excuse me... I do so hope I have not intruded.."

Hayate heard the faint sound of a voice speaking to him, so lost in his own thoughts he was unsure whether the voice came internally or externally. Shaking his head the Kirin became aware of surroundings once more. He pivoted towards the mare and presented the most friendly face he could muster after coming out of such a daze. "I... intruded? Hardly! Please forgive me, you've caught me daydreaming." His hooves shuffled in the grass, showing his embarrassment in being unable to even come up with a more elegant explanation. He really needed to work on his words, for he had come to find that words could make all the difference.
"Is there perhaps anything I could help you with Miss...?" Hayate paused, realizing his own error. "How inconsiderate of me, I haven't even asked your for your name. You really must forgive me." The brightly coloured stallion felt completely in a dither. Shiroe had taught him better than this, and yet here he was fumbling about like a freshly borne foal. Hayate was glad that his friend was not around to witness the disastrous state of his manners.

Amacha flicked her tail in a catlike gesture, considering the brightly colored stranger in interest. He looked unlike anything she'd ever seen before. True enough, riotous colors were something she was familiar with, but scales like green grass and a horn the color of rosebuds were distinctly different from any members of her herd or those she had crossed paths with. Blue eyes bright with speculation, she tilted her head and admired the pattern of flowers down his flank, wondering if they were a calling card of his clan.
His sudden spin to face her made her straighten up, putting on a politely curious expression. "Are you sure? I would hate to be a bother, I'm afraid I don't know much about the area and I would hate to be somewhere I shouldn't. Or somewhere someone would rather I was not."
At the admission he was daydreaming, she gave a soft laugh and fluttered her wings. "Oh, that. I do that frequently enough. A pleasant enough diversion, I find."
The question of her name made her duck her head in a faint bow, realizing she had been somewhat remiss in sharing. "Oh I do forgive you, of course. It's just as bad that I did not introduce myself. Please forgive me. My name is Amacha Nigella, but please do call me Amacha. And who are you, gentle sir?"
