Sakhile was not in the best of moods when he'd first left Neued with only his friends and a pack full of clothes, food, and some paper. He hadn't wanted to leave that way! Not angry, not with a fight.. but he was not going to simply be wrapped in wool b his silly father till he died of old age!

He wasn't sure what to expect either: he'd been hoping for more help but he'd kind of ran out of the house after that fight without talking to his mother about the roads, dangers, how to survive. In fact, after that first week on the road, he'd come to realize all his friends were in the same boat! They'd left with what they'd thought was needed... not what they actually needed! Half had turned back, not enjoying the constant raining of Jauhur and lack of good firewood to dry out at night. That left him and two of his friends: one oban and one matori who both wanted to see their homelands.

And now, he thought as his mind came back to the present: here's another sign we are totally unprepared to travel! There were two rather large men threatening them. They looked scraggly and unshaven, clothes could use some patching and definitely need a bath; Saki thought with wrinkle of his nose. Bandits right?

"Come on," He tried to cajole them; "We've only got some spare clothes and a bit of food.... there's no need to try and take that!" He gave them a big smile, hoping they'd have some small bit of heart in them. His two friends had their hands on their weapons.... a sword and a staff.... neither of which they know how to really use, Sakhile thought.

Saki leaned to the side to peer around the older men blocking the road to see who had spoken. She has a spear.. wonder if she knows how to use it? I hope she does! Sakhile thought nervously as he saw the bandit's hands grip their own spears. She was a bit on the short side though... Saki was not about to doubt her skill though! His mother was short and still fiery and not one to anger!

"I was just trying to get them to do the same! ... You guys sure you want to take all my stuff?" He looked sadly at them with large puppy eyes. "Kinda hard to get to Oba without any supplies!"

Sakhile was gong to take her advice; he wasn't one for violence after all! But his friends were out to prove themselves and being saved by a girl just didn't suit them.
"Guys!" Sakhile said exasperatedly; "Come one..." He sighed and sat down on the road when they ignored him and charged in. "No brains! We don't even know how to fight..." He muttered under his breath as he watched the bandits draw weapons and meet their charge. He had no weapon, something he was regretting right now... not that he could use it! But maybe it'd be useful in blocking... I better get myself a stick or something, he thought with a sigh. And I hope that girl can fight better than my friends!

Saki applauded as the lady took her oppnent down with ease. His friends were busy taking thiers down but with two of them it looked like they'd be fine.. Sakhile smiled at the woman; "Well.. they wouldn't run and I figured you're strong so I'll stay as well. And you are strong!" He gave her a wide grin. "It worked out int he end and this way I don't have to backtrack or get lost!"

Perhaps they should have run, but Saki knew his companions were not the type to flee! And why would he run and leave them behind? Plus the lady acted really confident.. that meant she was strong enough to fight right? Confident people were good fighters from what he'd seen! Or just good at bluffing...

Sakhile scratched his head; he hadn't considered what would have happened.. someone should up to help; obviously they'd be successful and he was saved! Right? He tended to think optimistically; bad things tended to not happen after all!

"Well.. you looked like you could handle it! And you showed up and took one down soo... hey!" He exclaimed as he was hauled to his feet. His friends were smarter or at least a bit ore wise than Sakhile so when the woman called out to them they beat a hasty retreat and followed Sakhile and Phaedra.

"We need to get you a weapon Sakhile." One of them said as they ran. "That way we can win against adults!"

Sakhile laughed as they ran; danger was gone and the brief amount of fear he might have felt at being threatened by bandits was all but forgotten.

"Luck can be a skill to you know! Gotta be able to take advantage of the opportunities provided to you." His friends merely shook their head; he never did have a proper sense of danger! "Sides no ones hurt!.... RIght guys?" He looked over his shoulder at his friends to make sure that they hadn't been hurt when they'd attacked. There wasn't a sign of blood so he shurgged it off.

"I'm Sakhile! Though you can call me Saki. This one;" he pointed to his oban friend. "Is Alos and he's Brenshan." His hand waved at the matorian. They both smiled.

"Thanks for the help; Gues we weren't as prepared for travelign as we thought." Alos said wrly.

The three boys all grinned as one and chorused; "Cause that isn't an adventure!" Sakhile laughed and threw his arms out; "There's a whole world out here we've never seen so we're traveling on paths others haven't as much so we can experience as much as possible!"

He looked around and shrugged; "Been looking the same as jungles about home but there was some excitement! What about you? You out traveling lesser traveled paths for excitement as well?"
