Physical Description:
Caroline is rather short and slender and possessed of a serious demeanor. She has a full head of unruly wavy, pale blond hair that often falls into her large, blue eyes- generally too busy to cut it, she leaves it long and keeps it braided back, not that that seems to help much. She has a dusting of freckles across her nose and cheekbones, and her smile is a shy and elusive thing.

Left to her own devices, Caroline is seldom seen in anything fancier than sturdy working clothes, though hers are kept assiduously mended. Generally she can be seen in knee-high boots of brown leather, denim or canvas trousers, and a canvas work shirt under a vest. When the occasion calls for it, however, she does clean up well.

Personality: In a word: Quiet. With her father's animosity an ever-present threat, Carrie learned it was best to keep her mouth shut. This is not to say, however, that she doesn't have strong opinions, or that she won't voice them when the occasion calls for it.

Because she's a woman of few words and very focused on her studies and her work, she tends to come off as severe and cold. In truth, she's actually quite kind and a little lonely, taking refuge in her green growing things and the animals she's befriended while learning the healing arts.

Biography:
Caroline had a rocky childhood. Her mother perished giving birth to her, and try though he did her father never quite forgave her for it. He wasn't intentionally cruel, but he was stricter on her than her siblings and prone to verbal outbursts at the slightest misbehavior, so she grew up a quiet, serious child.

She lived more or less happily on their small farm with her three brothers. As she grew older, she found some solace in caring for the animals and plants on the farm, and in looking after her older brothers who were quite hopeless in the ways that boys will be. The garden and the animals flourished with her and her brothers to tend them, and for awhile, all was well.

But then, when her healing magic manifested, her father decided he'd had enough and shipped his daughter off to the nearest Whyst for an apprenticeship. It was a journey of several days. She misses her brothers and exchanges letters with them often, but she hasn't been home in years- there's just too much work to be done, and she feels certain her father is happier without her around.
