He probably shouldn't have left off getting a costume until two days before Halloween. It was stupid and now he would be worried that the good costumes were all sold out! Why did he leave it until almost the last minute? Well, there was that Youma during last week, a midterm the week before, Matt had claimed him for video games and soccer this week. Basically everything had pilled up until all Terry was left with was two days to go costume hunting. Normally he would just go ahead and order his outfit online a head of time but this year he had decided to do something different.

Boy was he regretting that now.

He quickly made his way to the mall, heading for the costume store that had set up shop for the month. He dodged around other shoppers as he worked his way through the food court, trying to ignore the tantalizing smell coming from them. Okay so he had skipped breakfast to come shopping and that meant he was now hungry, he had more self control then that! He froze midstep when he started to walk by a food stall offering Cajun chicken then let out a sigh.

A breakfast break wouldn't hurt he supposed.

Twenty minutes later he was back on his way to the costume shop. This time nothing would distract him he was sure! That is, he was sure until he walked by a candy shop and he remembered that he was supposed to bring some candy to bring some candy back home since he wasn't the only one who had forgotten to prepare for the day. He side eyed the store for a moment, debating on whether he would remember to get it after buying his costume then gave another sigh and walked into the candy shop.

Cool, they had discounted full sized candy bars!

Thirty minutes later he had left the store with a bag full of candy and was glad his Mom had given him money for said candy. Now, THIS time he wasn't going to get distracted from his goal of buying a costume! He got a determined look in his eyes as he almost marched through the mall to the store, fully planning on ignoring everything to get to his destination. And then one of his college professors called out to him asking to talk about a paper he had turned in.

Well, guess it couldn't be helped.

Sigh.

It took forty-five minutes before he could get away from his professor. Yes it was nice to know he had gotten the full grade and that his professor liked the paper enough to change his opinions on things, but Terry was sure that it could have been discussed next class, not when he had to go shopping for a costume! But the shop was now in sight. The goal almost reached. He was so glad when he crossed the threshold of the shop that he couldn't help but grin as he looked around.

And then the youma that looked like it had been made out of a mix match of costumes appeared.

Slag.
