Deep in the basement of the Chapel of Light, a small, humble doorway stands. Many are unaware of where that little wooden door leads. But for those curious adventurers, they will discover the entryway to a crypt hidden beneath the Chapel.
This crypt has been left untouched, even through all of the massive renovations to the City. The faerie construction workers even left the doorway as it was, so that little wooden door has seen better days.
Upon entering the doorway, you will find yourself in a dark hallway, with only a speck of light at the end. There's an overwhelming feeling of sadness, yet hope, filling the air of this hallway. Despite the age, and isolation, it does not smell of old air and there's no cobwebs cluttering up the corners.
When you enter the room, the source of the light, you will see pure alabaster marble lines the walls of the Hall of Lost Souls. Old engravings cover the walls, showing scenes of times long past, memories that have long faded into oblivion. A single seat lays in the middle of the room, and upon it, a single sorrowful looking man. His eyes a full of a deep sadness, in his hands a chisel and a hammer, he is the Sculptor of the Lost, and his purpose is to carve the statues of those Pae’il that have become lost. Statues of Pae’il stand on small pedestals, carved by the Sculptor of the Lost, housing the souls of those Pae’il that have been lost. Shorter pedestals sit before the Statues, places for those relatives of the lost Pae’il to leave offerings to the departed. Beside these pedestals are many candles, and small tapers to light them with, for those that have passed on. A blanket of sadness covers the area, but intertwined with this heavy feeling of sorrow is a strong seed of hope, pulsing with great power, just waiting to burst forth into bloom.
