Who: Luka and Nell When: A little after noon Where: Gambino, Port City Athletic Gym Weather: Chilly, low 60s
Staring at the large industrial looking building in front of him, Luka pulled out the small piece of paper in his pocket. This was it.
The building’s name matched the last name on his list, Port City Athletic Club.
It was his last stop for today, and a personal recommendation from his guardian. The Frei had high hopes for this place. His guardian wasn’t exactly the type of person to recommend a business or service if they were less than excellent, and the frei needed every bit of excellence he could get with his next journey.
Taking a deep breath, Luka grabbed the door and pulled it open.
Hopefully, this time he’d be met with something other than a gaping stare of surprise.
”Hello?” Luka called out.

It was a fairly slow day so far, with only a handful of regulars and those attending the classes coming in. Nell's lone client for today called to reschedule their appointment, and since she didn't have much else to do she volunteered to cover the front desk over lunch so the receptionists could go grab some food. And since the customers that were there knew what they were doing, and that there was someone monitoring the equipment, she was left with nothing else to do but flip through the pile of magazines that were left on the desk.
It took a few seconds for her to look up when she heard the door open, her polite smile turning into a smile of excitement as she saw who (and what) came through the door.
"Hello! Welcome to Port City Athetic Club, what can I do for you?" Best not to get too excited and ask too many awkward questions right off the bat, probably.

Luka's face immediately perked up at the greeting he received. So far, this gym was already off to a great start.
Making his way further into the lobby area, Luka approached the desk and its receptionist. "Hi, I'm looking for a gym to join. I was wondering if you could give me some information on membership rates and even a personal trainer?" The satyr said as he reached out his hand for a handshake. "I'm Luka,"
His eyes took a moment to take in the woman's face and form. She looked athletic and strong, just like what he wanted.

"Nell, nice to meet you!" She said cheerfully, giving the Raevan a firm handshake. "And of course! Just give me a moment to find...ah!" She ducked out of sight for a moment as she looked for the stack of membership forms that were kept up front, sitting back up with a clipboard in hand.
"So There's a few different options you have, and the prices are listed up here," she tapped the top of the first sheet on the clipboard as she slid it across the desk to Luka. "Basically boils down to just admission to the gym and whatever extras you want, like access to the classes and trainers and all that fun stuff. And we have an excellent bunch of trainers, it really depends on what you're looking to do and your schedule!" She paused for a moment, sitting back in her hair and chewing absently on her lip.
"You're from the Lab, right? Lab 305 I mean."

Luka took clipboard. He took a moment to flip through the sheets and found himself looking at the gym's membership costs. They were a little expensive for his budget, but he had a feeling that his guardian would be more than willing to help him cover the costs for it.
"So, if I wanted to get a trainer, would I still have to do these classes? I'm really just looking for access to equipment and someone who can help me make sure that my form is correct and possibly guide me through the whole process. I'm trying to build some muscle, and I don't know where to begin." The Satyr let out a slight chuckle. He a had a feeling that most people in his position wouldn't know where to begin consider lack of legs made most exercises extremely difficult if not impossible.
When Nell mentioned Lab 305, the satyr looked at her with curiosity. "Yea, I am. I mean, I was. I've only been to the building handful of times. I live with my guardian right now. Are you a guardian too? Or do you just happen to know one of the other Raevans?" Luka asked. It was still rare to run into someone who knew what Lab was despite the number of Raevans that were steadily increasing.

"Oh, no! The classes are just something extra we offer, things like yoga that can be done in a big group, but they're completely optional. A trainer would probably be the best bet for what you're looking for! There should be a spot on there somewhere where you can put your preferred times and we'll match you up with someone." Training a Raevan would certainly pose some challenges, but hey, it was a trainer's job to work around the limitations of their clients after all. "I actually have the lightest client load right now, so it's likely you'll end up with me," she said with a bit of a laugh. "But I promise not to be too tough if that's the case."
"I am? Kind of? Almost!" she eventually settled on with a nod. "I actually just sent my essence and soul bottle back to the Lab a few weeks ago, so now it's just a matter of waiting." Rather impatient waiting, but waiting all the same.

"Yoga? What's yoga?" The frei asked, head cocking ever so gently to the side. It was rare for him to run across words that he'd never heard of before now days, it was a nice surprise. "I like tough. I want a challenge." Luka said with a smile as he began to fill out the papers.
There was something about Nell that made him feel really comfortable with her.
"Almost?! Really? What is the soul and essence? I've seen a few, they're really cool. When will you get a call back from them? Are you excited? Do you have names picked out?" Luka couldn't help but chuckle. Nell's excitement was infectious and he'd been caught in it. "Will you let me know when your Raevan arrives? I still have yet to meet all of the raevans."

"It's kind of...hmm, it's a kind of exercise that helps keep the mind and the body in alignment, would be the best way I can think of describing it? It uses a lot of poses that help you stretch and there's usually some aspect of meditation involved at some point." She definitely wasn't the expert at it that some were, she usually just dropped into a class here and there when she had the chance.
A slightly mischievous smile crossed her face when Luka said that he liked a challenge. "Well, that's good to hear! Hopefully you won't come to regret that claim later!" Because if it was a challenge he wanted, it was a challenge he'll get.
"Oh gosh, so the essence was a cursed hag stone? It's a rock with a hole in it that's supposed to let you see the faerie world and through illusions but it, um, very much did not. And the soul was an oak tree!" A moment of rustling around produced her phone, a picture of the stone in the jar and a bottle filled with a dark brown smoke appearing on its screen a moment later.
"I haven't had any luck finding any names that seem to fit, but there's still time to find one! They didn't say how long it'd take, but I hope soon, I've never been too good at waiting patiently," she said with a laugh. Though maybe not having a definite arrival date would be better so she wouldn't work herself into a frenzy the closer she got to her future Raevan's arrival. "And of course! I'd love for them to meet as many people as possible!" And she could only hope they wanted to meet everyone just as much.

Luka chuckled at Nell’s comment. ”I’ve never really been the type of person to turn down a challenge. So, you can bring on as much of it as you want.” A small smirk tugging at his lips, the satyr began to fill out the application sheets on the clipboard. His availability would be morning at best but with the gym was across the street from his new home, there was no reason why he wouldn’t be able to show up every day.
”Uh, Nell, by the way, does this gym have any private areas? I don’t know if you notice but the whole lack of legs tends to draw some unwanted attention.”
Craning over his neck to catch a look at the photo on Nell’s cellphone, the Satyr let out a whistle. ”So, did it not show faeries or did it show something other than faeries? And, that’s a good soul choice.” Luka couldn’t help but give his own nod of approval at her choice. As a woodland spirit, it was always exciting to meet other woodland and nature souls.
”I’m excited for you Nell. Sometimes, they will name themselves. I know Prajna did, some of us are more aware coming out of the tubes than others.”

"Oh, yay." If they had been talking about anything other than fitness her expression might be vaguely worrying, though Luka might want to be vaguely worried anyway. While she is very nice and polite person, she is not one to let anyone slack off that she's training.
"Hmm, we can probably figure out a schedule so we can use one of the classrooms when they aren't being used, if that'd work. You won't be able to use a lot of the machines, but I don't think you'd be able to use them for a while anyway..." She drummed her fingers on the desk for a moment, trying to think of another solution to his problem. "Or if it gets too much of a problem, it wouldn't be too hard to meet somewhere else."
"It was like...ghosts, kind of? I kept hearing and seeing things, generally pretty spooky stuff," she said with a nervous laugh. "I have no idea if they were actually there or not, though I would really, really hope not!" That would be quite an unsettling realization, but she would keep on thinking they were just imaginary until proven otherwise.
"Oh gosh, well, I better find a couple just in case they don't have one in mind already!" That would certainly be a bad first impression, certainly wouldn't make her look like a responsible guardian, that was for sure.

"That's perfectly fine, thanks for being so accommodating already Nell." Giving her one last smile, the Frei finished up the rest of the paperwork before holding it out for the trainer. "The card and pay information is under my guardian's name, Elai. I'm sure he'll want to meet you sometime within the week as well. He actually recommended the gym to me in the first place."
When Nell mentioned ghosts, he raised an eyebrow. "Really? Ghosts? Were they able to touch you and all that? Or was it just.... seeing them?" This was the first time he had been hearing about ghosts.
"I'm sure you'll do fine. I mean, even Elai did a great job with me."

"Oh, not a problem! That's what I'm here for!" She took the clipboard, grabbing a pen herself and making a few notes on it for whoever processed it. "You should get your card in the mail in a few days, or if you want we can just hang onto it here for you until your next visit if that'd be easier! And actually..." Another moment of looking around the desk produced a business card, which she hastily scribbled something on the back of. "Here's my number in case you need something and I'm not here! I don't really have much aside from work going on right now, so whenever he has the time I would be more than happy to meet him!"
"Just seeing them, thankfully, but they were always kind of lurking in the background? It was like being followed all the time, even if you couldn't really see anything right that second." Even the thought of it made her shiver slightly, but an effort of will pushed the thought of of her head in time to chuckle at his comment.
"Oh, I'm sure he's not that bad!"

"Thanks Nell! I'll probably come in tomorrow if that's alright. I want to start building a routine as soon as possible. Elai said that it's not the physical work that makes working out difficult but finding time and making it a priority in your life." He took the business card, taking a moment to commit the number to memory just in case he might lose it.
"He will be more than excited to meet you as well. We just moved to Gambino, so it'll be a nice change to get him out the house and actually meet people." He had a feeling that Elai would get along swell with Nell. Something about athletic people being athletic together.
"He can be when he wants to be. He's never had a child before, so he went overboard with me." Chuckling, the frei couldn't help but recall the first few days at his new home.

"Yeah, that'd be fine! What time were you thinking of? The mornings are usually a bit quieter, but an hour or two before closing things start winding down as well if you were looking for it to be less crowded." There was always going to be some people, of course, regardless of the time of the day, but the people at the extreme ends of their hours tended to keep mostly to themselves and would likely pay Luka no heed as they did their own thing. "Also did you want to start talking about what your goals are as far as training goes while you were here, or just leave it all till tomorrow?"
"Oh, really? I just moved here myself a few months ago, too! And at least the Lab seems like a good way to meet people, I've probably met more people from that than anything else, really." Lab 305, (somewhat) adoption agency, scientific research facility, and social spot all in one, very convenient.
"Well, I have some experience dealing with kids at least," she said, laughing along with Luka, "though who knows if it'll actually help at all with this."
