Cygnus was not much for patrolling. He had a pretty early bedtime, so his 'night' patrols started at around seven in the evening. He could not stay out past 10 without his parents noticing! It was hard for a young kid to escape his house without getting caught. Especially when that young kid was a bit sissy when it came to getting in trouble.
He did not want his parents mad at him, and if they found out he was a Senshi, they would ground him forever. What sensible parent would let their kids do this kind of stuff? Fight monsters?!
It was kinda insane, but oddly thrilling for a young man that did not do well with thrill.
He was in the park tonight, which seemed like the best place to patrol if only because a lot of other senshi tended to appear there, and he was already eager to get home. The sun was still up, and he was sitting in the tree line, hiding from the many normal folks who were walking around still. Most of them probably wouldn't pay him any mind, even if they did see him in his weird get up. A kid dressed as a scarecrow in October?
Not the weirdest thing that has ever happened in Destiny City.

Axton had had to stay late at the college that evening to study for an upcoming final in one class or another. He'd spent the last week doing the same, each night a different subject, and at this point everything was starting to blend together. Hopefully some of what he'd tried to pack into his head that evening stayed. Either way, a late night studying meant instead of heading out to to a bar or to meet his friends, he was instead heading back to the student dorms. It was, technically, still early enough that he easily could have found something to occupy a few hours of his town, but there was something about a cram session that was just exhausting. Dinner, then crawling into bed. That sounded just dandy to the young man. The quickest way home was actually through the park. Something Axton usually enjoyed, given a natural inclination to people watch, but he really wasn't paying attention tonight. Too tired. Too hungry. He didn't notice the little scare crow looking kid. He also didn't notice the approach of something else.

Cygnus spotted a youma not too far from him and froze. He hated those things, and he sort of was hoping that it would not see him and run off some other way. To his own surprise, his wish was granted, as the monster seemed to lock onto something other than the little senshi.
Okay. Cygnus knew from what others tried to tell him that he was supposed to go and stop these things... but they were awful and scary, and he really did not like people enough to... want to save them...
But... he had super hero powers, and he had to act like a super hero.
Taking a breath, he moved, as quietly as he could, in the general direction he had seen the youma run. It did not take long for him to spot the guy that was about to get attacked by a monster, and his heart sank a bit. It just HAD to be his brother.
"Hey! Look out!"

The shout startled him, and Axton jumped, turning on his heel to look for the source, and instead found the source. It shouldn't have been terrifying, considering what it looked like, but given the size. Given that it was charging right for him, it was. A giant, wobbling bird, ostrich like, but with a larger head. It's beak was open wide, an angry(or eager) caw of a sound filling the mostly empty park "What the ******** is that thing!" Books fell from his arms as he backed away, turning to make a run for it. Not quite aware of who had called out the warning, but certainly thankful for it.

Cygnus huffed and shook his head. Of course it had to be his brother out here, in the middle of trouble with a stupid youma running at him! And now Cygnus had to go and help him even though he DEFINITELY did not want to get involved with that monster!
It was an ACTUAL monster, after all.
Even if it was... on the silly looking side.
Taking a very deep breath, Cygnus charged in at the youma, yelling and waving his arms.
"Stay away from him, you stupid chicken! Over here, over here, look!" He yelled, though he tripped and stumbled, then fell and landed on top of the bird like youma in a far from coordinated lump.

Silly or not, the thing was definitely after the college student. Axton, books abandoned now(God, they were so expensive...) took off in earnest, though he could hear the thing chasing him. Could hear a loud, awful cry that wasn't like anything he'd ever heard before. Then there was yelling, A vaguely familiar voice, but when the young man looked back over his shoulder he didn't recognize the kid waving frantically and shouting in an attempt to get the bird-thing's attention. And that didn't seem right. The kid was running, tripped, and collided bodily with the monster. It made Axton slow, stopping as he turned. He couldn't leave the kid to handle this. He was just a kid! "Hey, what are you doing?" A step closer, then another. "Get away from that thing, kid. It's dangerous!" Probably dangerous.

"Don't tell me what to do Axton!!"
So keeping secrets was hard for a kid his age. But his brother was trying to tell him what to do, again, and that was not cool! He hated when his big brother acted like he was the boss. Just because mom and dad put him in charge sometimes didn't mean he was always the boss!
Of course, his brother was right in this case. Youma were always dangerous. Even the silly ones. At least, that was what Cygnus had come to understand, and believed adamantly.
He took a few flailing punches at the monster, in an effort to fight it without knowing how to fight at all. Maybe it would just... throw itself into his attack and dust itself?
It worked in the comics and movies sometimes...

That was startling. Maybe more so than the monster itself. Axton jerked, features flashed in momentary surprise as he stared past the comical bird thing towards the small senshi(Had to be a senshi, he didn't know what else they could be) that had jumped out to help him. How the hell did they know his name? Did they know him? Frowning, Ax kept on following, at a jog now. It wasn't wise, but he also couldn't just walk away. Not even before the kid had shouted his name. God, that tone had sounded familiar.There were wild punches being thrown, mostly misses, and Axton winced. "Aim for the side of the head, kid!" Would that even work against a monster? There were rocks surrounding a tree on teh side of the path. Slowing, Ax grabbed a few of them, then started chucking them at the bird thing as he started running again.

"The head?"
He ignored the fact that Axton was giving him orders AGAIN, and focused on his trying to fight this weird monster that clearly wanted to kill him. Well. Maybe. It was kind of silly, but it was still a youma and thus still dangerous, and if Cygnus could beat it then he could prove that he was just as capable as his big brother!
The civilian with no super powers at all.
Cygnus took a breath, shut his eyes tightly, and threw his fist as hard as he could at the youma. It collided with the monster's head, with enough power to burst the thing into dust. Or maybe it was the rocks that collided with it at the same time, which Cygnus did not see.
"HAHA! I DID IT!"

Axton reached the kid just as he was cocking a fist back to throw a blind, albeit really powerful little punch. It made him stop, torn between throwing himself in the middle of the fight, because this was a kid, and knowing full well that he really didn't stand much of a chance in doing anything other than getting himself hurt. That didn't mean this was easy to watch. He held his breath as the kid's fist connected, gasping and retreating back a few steps as the bird thing exploded into dust, and then stared wide eyed at the kid still standing there, cheering over his triumph. "Are you okay?" Yeah, he was cheering. That didn't didn't mean he wasn't hurt, though!

Cygnus looked at Axton with a big, proud grin on his face, nodding his head happily.
"I beat that thing! It's dust now, and it won't hurt you or anyone! I did it!" He had never been so happy before, as far as he was concerned. In his little life so far, this was the greatest moment. Okay, maybe there had been more important ones, but not that he could think of. Right now, everything was AWESOME.
He was really a hero, and had finally done something right! Sure, he did not really see that he had not been alone in his work, but hey, he'd take it anyway.
"Oh, uh. Right." he looked at his brother and cleared his throat, putting his hands on his hips and standing upright, chest up like he saw all the real heroes in his comics doing. "Are you alright, sir? That monster could have hurt you!"
To his ears, his deep super hero voice sounded pretty cool.

The kid was certainly excited, and though Axton had seen exactly what had happened, he felt no need to burst the little hero's bubble. let him think he;d beaten the monster single handed, that confidence could mean everything later. "Thanks kid." He shook his head, smiling to himself as much as to Cygnus. "I'm fine." But where had his school books ended up...? Those were important. Frowning, he glanced around them, then back up the way he'd come running from. He had to have dropped them early on, which meant they were probably closer to the fountain? "Did you happen to see where my books ended up?" Now, if he could find them, then the kid would be a real hero.

Cygnus frowned, looking around.
"Books? No, I didn't..." he trotted to keep up with Axton. "Mom will be mad if you loose your books! Your. Mom. Would be mad. Probably."
He stopped, feeling hesitant and confused. Had he just blown his cover? Wait, hadn't he already done that earlier? Did Axton know that this was really Victor, and not just a super awesome hero that had come to save him from a monster? If he did, it would make the hero thing so much less impressive!
At least in his young mind, that was what it came to. Who wanted their brother, or anyone in their family, to know their super secret, awesome identity? If they found out, they would probably start asking him to do stuff for them!
"I gotta go," he said abruptly, turning on his heels and high tailing it out of there as fast as he could.

Mom? Axton eyed the young man suspiciously, brows arching upwards as he corrected himself, covering a slip with something a bit more reasonable. And hadn't he called him by his name, earlier? Axton was still frowning thoughtfully when the kid announced his intention to leave, and then immediately turned on his heels and took off in the opposite direction. Leaving Ax to puzzle over whether or not he knew the kid somehow, or if he'd just been hearing things in the midst of his life being threatened.
