Body: Mai is very slim, petite and very feminine. she has a medium sized chest and an average amount of hips. Skin tone is a very pale peach and she has gold scales on her arms near her wrists and where ever else artist thinks looks good. Eyes: Sky blue Hair: shoulder length and pulled back with barrettes, its a very dark brown. Barrettes would probably be gold. Racial features: Mai's horns are on the short side but still with in normal chimera range, the base of the horns is black and fades into gold. Wing color is black with gold Tail spikes would be black color, light gold scales on her tail or anywhere the Artist thinks would be good? Vanna is her older brother so she would probably have similar scale patterns to him
Clothing Style: She tends to have a very flowy feminine like style with a bit of Gothic Lolita accents to her outfit. Most of the outfit is a mixture of black and gold. Best example of clothing would be here
Positive traits Gentle Mai hates hurting others in any type of form. She believes that you should try to talk things out right rather than go in guns blazing . She cant stand to see suffering and will often be the first to get up to help you if she can. Its the only time that she seemingly overcomes her shyness. She wants everyone to be genuinely happy around her and she'll be the first one to offer up a sympathetic ear if you need some one to listen to you
Creative Mai is always dealing with the more artsy side of things. She tries to add new touches to old recipe favorites. She goes outside of normal color combinations when it comes to flower arranging and she's always writing or trying to figure out new music. She wants to make people smile and brighten up their day and if you can get her to talk to you she's always good for coming up with bright and fun ideas.
Supportive- Mai is extremely shy. So its hard to get past her barriers to talk to her however if you managed to make her into a friend she's always there for as long as you need her. She'll be your support and she'll sacrifice her time to come running over to listen to your problems until the wee hours of the morning. She wants her friends to feel that no matter what happens she is always in their corner.
Negative traits Shy- Mai is crippling shy. she doesn't do well talking to new people and if she can hide behind Vanna or one of her friends the better. She's terrible at socializing and she's always worried people will turn and laugh at her so much that occasionally she will find some way to leave the room. She's slowly getting better and opening up but its always hard approaching people she doesn't know while she's by herself
Low self esteem Mai hates being in the middle of attention, she has a low opinion of herself, especially because as a child she was often really sick, since she often thinks as her self as a burden, she doesn't understand how people can like her or why they stick around. This feeds into her shyness and she often thinks she'll be rejected so she'd much rather move to the back to be a wallflower than try to go up to face people. Talking to others actually terrifies her.
poor self of direction Mai is always getting lost. She can have been in a place hundreds of times before but she some how always ends up getting distracted and the next thing she knows she's two buildings over wondering just how she got outside. General Personality Mai is a rather sweet girl. She’s calm, gentle and supportive of those that she holds close. She tries to exercise patience and be a guiding reliable hand. However she doesn’t really know how to people that well, she’s cripplingly shy, she is a bit of a wall flower and she can’t handle any one getting hurt around her. She’s also a bit oblivious and a touch gullible and can be labeled a bit naive. She also is the worst critic of herself and holds herself to very harsh guild lines
However what Mai doesn’t realize is that she also has a strong deep will and she she’s very determined. She wants to be there for her precious people and she’s not afraid of moving forward and giving second chances or standing against her fears to support and protect those that are weaker than her or those that are in need of a helping hand.
Likes flowers- Mai finds flowers rather beautiful and in fact one of her more happier memories with her parents was when they would sit down and her mother would teach her how to arrange flower decorations. Its a habit and a hobby that she's carried over to the school. She'll often set up arrangements for friends to brighten their day or as a gift and to clear her mind and cut down on her stress for the day.
cooking Mai tends to like taking care of people, and what better way to take care of people through food. She loves sitting in the kitchen and creating new recipes or finding out small little tweaks she can make to old favorites. When she over worries or ends up stressing out to much she'll often disappear to the kitchen to just relax.
music- Mai loves music she is almost always listening to some form of music. Its a fun away to get to know a culture and see what they are about. It intrigues her that music can inspire so many different emotions in others and it can help her travel to other places she doesn't yet have the confidence to do so. Mai also can play the flute.
dislikes crowds Mai does not to well with large groups of people, she fills swallowed and smaller than she normally is. Since she's rather shy she cant always find ways to relate to people and in large crowds especially when they are in the form of parties she tends to become even more of a wall flower. While she will venture out into them if she's not with good friends she tends be utterly uncomfortable.
Blood: Mai normally doesn't like being around blood, blood means that some one has been hurt and being hurt means that they're probably suffering or they've been so hurt that they've died. It ties in with her whole hatred of seeing anyone injured. However she is fine when the blood is being used to save others or if its herself that's been injured. However instead of making her faint or something else it just fills her with overwhelming sadness.
bullying- Mai has seen too much of it in her life. She's watched as Vanna was basically shunned in their family for trying to be himself and she's watched others hating on people for being different. She frankly hates it and its one of the only times that her shyness tends to melt away. She absolutely loathes any sort of bigotry or bullying. She along with her brother will be the first to step out of the crowd to come to the victims defense.
Goals Mai isnt quite sure what she wants to do in the world, yet. She does however like cooking and working with flowers. If she doesn't just end up as a housewife she would like to possibly do something with flower arranging. She also wants to become stronger and be less dependent on her brother or her friends. She wants to stand on her own two feet and not withdraw from everyone do to her shyness. Darkest fears Mai is afraid of a lot of things. Very loud thunder storms, places with absolutely no light. however her worst fear is being alone. She fears of having absolutely no one left that she can call hers or her friend. She fears rejection and that everyone will find her not worth the time and just leave. Being a Chimera Mai feels like she is a failure as a chimera. This is a stark contrast from when she was younger and obviously in a respected position. A lot of this attitude came about when she got really sick. The whole ordeal left her immune system weakened and she is always relapsing needing to stay in bed and have some one look after her. Due to this she started getting meeker and stopped standing up for her self as often, needing to then be rescued by her older brother. This coupled with the fact that she no longer feels comfortable in large crowds she wonders what help she can bring to a clan, and why they would need some one as sickly as her? As she gets older and goes through school depending on the people she meets she'll realize she's a lot stronger than she gives her self credit for and will try to find a place where she fits in. However because she feels so disconnected from her heritage Mai doesn't suffer from some of the prejudice some of the older members of her race feels. She judges people based on how they behave and how they act rather than what race they may have been born into. Life at school She struggles a bit with being in Enoch because they're more logic and science based, and Mai is very creative. In fact when she transferred into the school she was torn between Arkham and enoch. Enoch finally won because the students where almost more subdued and less energy in her mind and because she absolutely loves plants and learning about their different uses and how to use them to help people. Its also a nice dorm to get away from the energy of the more outgoing students at the school, although she knows that enoch has its fair share of energetic people as well.

Life so far Mai was an interesting case. She had been turned into the orphanage along with her brother’s soul stone that had actually been adopted first. When Vanna started showing more masculine traits, his adopted family went back and got Mai’s soul stone. Mai watched as Vanna started to get shunned and she tended to get the better treatment. She knew there was something wrong and that her family was very feminine based. She realized quickly that was not the norm and tried to help Vanna as much as she could. Mai at the time didn’t know that Vanna was actually her real biological brother but she always felt closer to him as they shared very similar racial traits. When he started lashing out and becoming more mischievous Mai would try to keep him from being caught.
Then their youngest sister ended up running away and Mai snuck along behind the search parties forcing them to take her with them. It was here that Mai saw Vanna open up and start to become more animated and freer in a sense. She tried to sabotage the search as best she could by disappearing herself and making it so that the search group had to split off to try to find her along with their younger sibling in hopes that that Vanna could be himself for just a little longer. It worked, unfortunately a bit too well. It hadn't been the smartest plan she ever came up with and as such she spent many hours standing in the wet cold weather with non sufficient protection. Predictably Mai came down really sick. In fact her immune system still hasn’t really recovered. However as they were busy taking care of Mai, Vanna used the distraction to Vanna time to convince his clan to send him to the Asphodel academy. The clan didn’t quite trust Vanna though and Mai was also sent to keep an eye on him.
Mai is happy at the new surroundings. She loves how Vanna seems more alive despite some hard patches he went through at the academy and she hopes that getting a new perspective on life will help her grow just as much to be some one that vanna is proud of. She’s also kind of curious and wants to one day take the test to see if she really is related to Vanna.
Your Nightmare sees an abandoned plushie sitting on the ground by a tree in the courtyard. It looks nearly new and kind of expensive! What does your Nightmare do after they notice it?
She was never going to hear the end of it. She had promised Vanna that she would spend the day with him as they had both been too busy with midterms recently to really hang out and Mai did have to send that report to their “parents” or Mai had to fib something up. Vanna was seemingly becoming really dark lately. She was worried about him and some of the people that he hung out around but there wasn’t really anything she could do except for be there for him.
As she was cutting through the court yard she saw it. Sitting there next to a tree was an abandoned plushie. It looked absolutely pitiful with the rain falling down and soaking its fur. She walked over and kneeled down next to it. She wondered why it had been left here. While dirty and soaked due to the weather it still looked expensive. She picked it up and tried to brush off as much leaves and stuff as she could although the dirt and mud was a bit of a lost cause.
Was this the friend of a child that was missing it? Someone that a child held dear and trusted to get them through the dark monster hiding under the bed nights, or where they some new novelty that a child had gotten bored of and cast aside to a watery fate. Inanimate objects could have a life of their own, depending on the need bestowed upon them. Well at least that was wat she believed, and no matter the reason why it was sitting out in the rain Mai needed to give it a good home or get it back to its home. She stood there a moment longer pondering what to do.
“Mai… Mai what in the world are you doing in the rain?” Ah she had apparently been standing out here holding the plushie under her umbrella longer than she thought, especially if Vanna had finally decided to come look for her. Well actually knowing her brother he had probably started looking for her the moment she crossed into late. Mai never was good with directions.
“Uh… in a moment Vanna” she called out. She would drag her brother to the nearest lost and found and see if maybe they could locate the owner of this plushie, but what if it had been abandoned. Would it just sit there alone on the shelves till they threw it away… oh dear she was back at square one wasn’t she? Maybe Vanna would know what to do
