Name of Class: Your Very Own Halloween Costume!
Professor name: Professor Selene Apophis

General Information: This class is open to Amityville students as well as Horsemen!

Professor Selene has collected far too much memorabilia from her trips to the human world, especially during Halloween. She wants to put some of her collection to good use, by helping out anyone who wants to make an appropriate costume for the all too important Trick or Treating that occurs every Halloween in the human world! You get to keep what you put together here - you may even get to use her costume in her Halloween Helpers Field Trip or Professor Winter's Horseman mission, should you want to!

Mechanics:

Part One
: Picking outfit pieces

There's boxes lined up all in a row, all of which are filled with colorful pieces of costumes from days gone by. You're allowed to pick out four pieces to make a costume, so make it count!

Roll 4d12. If you don't like the pieces you rolled in this option, you are allowed to try again one time! Matching pieces will give you more points!

1. A Witch/Wizard Hat
2. A Witch/Wizard Robe
3. A Broom
4. A Pirate's Hat
5. A Pirate's Tunic
6. A Sword
7. A Skull Mask
8. A Skeleton Bodysuit
9. A Pumpkin Stump Hat
10. A Giant Pumpkin Bodysuit
11. A Blue Fairy Dress
12. Blue Wings

As you can see, 1/2/3 is a match, 4/5/6 is a match, as is 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12. If you manage to match two pieces of an outfit, you get +2 to your final total. If you manage 3 pieces, you get +4 to your final total! If NONE of your pieces match, you get +1 added to your total for originality. Remember you are allowed to roll again if you don't like your first find, but you must roleplay both posts out (minimum 100 words each), and you can choose whichever of the two you like best!

Part Two:

Putting together your costume:

It's time to show Selene what you've chosen! Put the costume on and try to explain to her what you are, even if your pieces mismatch. Are you a pirate fairy? A Skeletal Pumpkin? That's horrifying! You must tell her a story (minimum 200 words) about the character you've created. You can even give it a name, a backstory, and a goal in life! Make it interesting, Selene loves to be enchanted with a good story!

Roll 1d6 with your explanation post. Add the total of this dice, to the points you made in part one. Match your total to the fields below!

Totals:
1-2: Selene is so disappointed in your lack of attention to detail. She doesn't even know if she should let you keep the costume you made.. you clearly don't care about it! (Fail)
3-4: Is.. is your professor about to cry? She looks like she's about to cry.. maybe you should have taken your work more seriously.. (Fail)
5-6: Selene says nothing, but puts a green star sticker on your forehead. For Effort! (Pass)
7-8: Well done! Selene is so enchanted by your story, that she's lost track of what she was doing. Oh, that's right! Giving you an A! (Pass)
9-10: Is.. is your professor about to cry? She looks like she's about to cry.. did you do something wrong? Was your costume not good enough? No, she's just.. so.. proud.. *SNIFF* (Pass)

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN…

You complete the class, whether you pass or fail. You get +1 rp point for completing, and another +1 point if you managed to go over 800 words.

Should you pass, you will get a bonus to Professor Winter's Horseman Trick or Treating EM, or Selene's Halloween Helpers Mission! You also get this neat-o special ability:

Super cool IC ability that you get for passing: You can now magically transform into your halloween costume instantly!

Falair had heard talk about this whole trick or treating event. It seemed...kind of childish but maybe it would be exciting? Either way she was glad to get out of the tower and do something. Studying was great but even she needed a breather every now and again.

Making her way to the indicated location, she eyeballed the boxes that were all lined up in a row. They seemed to be filled to the brim with various articles of clothing and props that perhaps seemed a little ridiculous to her. But this was how it was going to be she supposed.

She wasn't sure why they needed outfits. But she began to rummage through the boxes anyhow. Pulling out a few pirate tunics, a skeleton bodysuit and a sword.... the mare was unsure what kind of outfit these things could make really. Who needed two tunics? The sword maybe could go with it but then...what about this skeleton thing. She already had bones showing so it seemed kind of redundant to wear a skeleton outfit.

With a sight she tossed the items back into the boxes and began to root about again for something a bit more practical. If you could call these outfits practical.

Try again! Falair was determined to find something better than her last little collection of various costume pieces. Though it was really getting hard to find anything that...matched. It was like someone had just emptied out a costume closet into the boxes. A really old one. Where someone had just thrown bits and pieces of costumes to be long forgotten.

She sighed while pulling out a few more pieces before finally settling on a few. A blue fairy dress, another skeleton bodysuit, a witch hat and a broom. Well she supposed she could work with this. Though it really didn't seem to go together all that much. Plus they were kind of looking worn and used. Not that she would really complain, but it was a drastic step down from her current attire.

Moving behind a partition, she slipped the body suit on, which was a bit odd over her own skeletal limbs. Next came the dress and then the hat and broom to complete the outfit. It looked like she had gotten into a fight with a closet and lost.

Part of her hoped no one she knew would see her. It would only be kind of embarrassing. Though if Na'ima saw her her sister would probably laugh her a** off. Falair pulled the hat a little further down over her face. The fairy dress was really REALLY sparkly. Sparkles were not something Falair enjoyed. She was not an entirely girly type of mare, unlike her sister. Minimal make up. Her normal attire was never really over the top. But this...this outfit made her feel like she stuck out like a sore thumb.

And not in a good way.

Sucking in a deep breath, Falair moved to stand in front of the class host. Staring with eyes half lidded in dispassion about her entire costume. Couldn't they have had something better? No? This was all they had? What a shame.

She let out her breath. They wanted her to tell a story about the outfit. Well, that might be easy enough. Clearing her throat Falair began. "A long time ago there was a witch who wanted to be a fairy. She wished for beautiful wings and the ability to frolic with the plants of the forest near her home. Unfortunately as a witch she could not do these things. Her mother had given her a blue sparkly dress when she was a little child and everyday the witch wore it. Never taking it off even when it..." She sniffed. "Began to stink." God what was that smell.

"So one day she came upon a peddler who told her he could sell her a potion that would turn her into a fairy. Shrink her size and give her beautiful wings. Excited she didn't think twice and bought the potion. Scrambling for weeks to obtain all the ingredients that the potion recipie called for. But as we all know buying potions from strange peddlers in the street is never a good idea." Obviously. "The potion wasn't a potion but poison. After drinking her concoction she became ill. And in the next few weeks she lay in bed in agony. Suffering the fate in which she had brought upon herself." How sad, if only the witch had done more research. Falair was...kind of really getting into the story. "After weeks of agony and sickness her body finally gave in. Her spirit slipping into the nether. It returns every night to walk the streets. A skeleton phantom with a sparkly blue dress."

Falair placed her hands behind her back, rocking on her heels after finishing her story. Apparently this Selene person really enjoyed the story she hadn't noticed how horrible the costume Falair was wearing actually was. At least now it was over.
