Fiona was a woman of many titles. She was a graduate of both Crystal Academy and Sovereign Heights, but she was a drop-out of Destiny City University. She was a marketing assistant for Watson Home Design. She was a snobby coffee drinker. She was one of DC's wealthy upper-class.
But she was also one of DC's protectors-- or she used to be.
She used to be an active order-aligned solider under the mantle of Sailor Denebola, Senshi of Dragonflies. A title she found herself shirking from more and more as the war raged on. A guise that she avoided donning if she could avoid it.
Too many hands around the physical embodiment of her soul, too many lost friends and damaged connections. Too much failure for the redhead's pride. Too much loss, too much pain, too much heartbreak.
Her reasons for letting her alter-ego rise to the surface were few and far between and yet-- here she was, making her way to the park in her powered state. She wore a thick coat over her fuku, both as a disguise and as a means to provide herself some warmth on the cold fall night, with it buttoned to the top and her face nestled in the warmth of the collar. Few things gave away her identity, except for the antennae-like tiara that curled up out of her fringe and the long trail of her translucent blue bow that hung at her waist.
Her heart thudded harshly in her chest as rational paranoia kept her on edge. It was always risky these days to venture across the city at night, especially in her senshi form, but it was also the only way to get to where she wanted.
Which was space, or more accurately her star.
And that was why Super Sailor Denebola had ventured out of her cozy flat at 11'o'clock at night and made her way to the biggest empty clearing she could find. She was alert and aware of all of the fluxuating power signatures around her, but pinpointing their proximity had never been her strong suit, and so she wanted to be able to know if someone was coming her way.
The best way to do that was to be in a large, open space.
Once she deemed herself in a good spot, she pulled out her phone and began her preparations. Kaefaux i will edit in a title when I think of it, hope this works for you (:

For Devlin, powering up was an excuse to just ignore the world. He didn’t see a place for himself in this whole “war” business. It made no sense to him. War between what? Light and dark? Good and bad? He didn’t get how the court—his court, supposedly—fit into that whole shebang. He got how the Negaverse were assholes. He’d seen enough of their antics to get that s**t. The knights and White Moon senshi he’d meet thus far were friendly enough. So what was the big deal?
What was the freaking point?
Taking on the garb of Loke, he really only let himself dwell on it briefly. He knew jackshit about what it meant to be a Dark Mirror senshi. Didn’t get what the difference was between him and the White Moon variety—besides the fact he had a different energy signature, and a lot more black in his outfit than most of the White Moon counterparts. Yeah he could ask Rem. Yeah he could be better about trying to figure out how they were supposed to get to space—cuz that’s what the Dark Mirror Court wanted, right? To leave the Earth to the Negaverse and say “screw y’all” and rofl off to space?
Ok. So what was the plan for doing that, exactly?
Loke kept his steps light as he meandered through the city, keying into signatures here and there. He kept the hell away from other Chaos signatures, trying to track down a particular Order signature instead. An energy, stronger than his and definitely Order, caught his attention, drawing him towards the source. He hoped to find a woman, which he did, but she didn’t have the long blonde hair he’d been hoping to find. The butterfly themed white and pale blue was replaced by dragonflies and green and blue. But she was a senshi, right? Order?
He approached carefully, having already had the experience of facing the wrath of a startled Super Senshi. Keeping his hands up, he let out a long whistle from a distance away, trying to get the woman’s attention. “Hey, White Moon. Name’s Loke. It ok if I approach?” He figured that was friendly enough, and a fair enough request. If she wasn’t fond of Dark Mirror senshi, he could get the hell out of there. If she was willing to chill and talk though… why not?
Did he have a conversation in mind? Hell no. But that didn’t stop him from trying to start one up.

The thing Denebola hated the most about traveling to her planet was the sheer fact that it took too long, which was the exact reason she'd picked such a wide open space. So when she heard the low whistle, her eyes snapped open and she spun on her heel. Ever inch of her was on high alert, hands clenching into fists even around the phone in her hand.
It was silly, she realized, to be so fight or flight from a mere whistle because, more likely than not, if an enemy had been approaching they wouldn't have warned her of their presence at all.
"My willingness to allow you to approach depends on what your intentions are," she replied, unclenching her fists and smoothing out her skirt. Her mismatched eyes swept over his appearance as he approached cautiously. She'd seen enough people from all factions, except knights, to recognize the signs of a faction and she knew what energy signatures meant what.
"You're of the Dark Mirrors." It was a statement clumsily posed as a question. Her mind flashed back to her last proper encounter with a Dar Mirror, Remarque. She'd promised him another visit when she figured out her star a little better but she was hardly closer than she was then. Her memories still foggy and her tendency to slip into her other life was more frequent.
Definitely not ideal for traveling with companions.
"My name is--" she stopped, worrying her bottom lip as she started to reconsider her decision to offer her name up so freely. "I am Denebola," she decided. "What do you want?"

“Only lookin' to talk,” he answered calmly. The truth, though he wasn't expecting her to accept it as such necessarily. “Tryin' to get other views on this so-called war. Still tryin' to figure where I stand on it all.”
Loke didn't see the harm in being forthcoming to the senshi, though he distinctly didn't take another step towards her until he got the ok. Instead, he lowered his hands, hooking his thumbs onto the cloth of his belt while he waited. Least he got her name. Denebola. Was curious if it had any lore behind it--he was realizing a lot of them did, even if he didn't have a freaking clue what the connections were till after he Googled everything.
To her last question though... the dark haired man shrugged a bit, expression falling into one of boredom. “Yeah I'm a Dark Mirror, but it ain't exactly my choice. Only really know one of my so-called court. Findin' I like you White Moon lot more than I guess my own people. And Knights. They've been pretty chill.” Negaverse, however, could go rot. The Dark Mirror Senshi was forming an extreme dislike for his Chaos brethren.
Eyeing the phone in her hand, he nodded his chin towards it--assuming she could see that. “What's with the phone? Ordering out?” Half joke to break the ice, half legitimate curiosity.

"Then talk," she demanded, tone clipped when she folded her arms across her chest. A part of her felt bad for being so cold, but she feared what being warm or welcoming might mean for her. Too many bad experiences meant being overly-cautious and Denebola knew that she could be a b***h.
"If you don't know where you stand, why did you join?" She asked, hesitating before she beckoned him forward, allowing him to approach without worry of repercussion. She wouldn't attack unless he did, she wasn't in the mood to grapple. "Everyone stands for different things," she commented as he spoke, explaining that he thought he might like order instead of Chaos.
He asked about her phone and her gaze immediately dropped to the object nestled between her arm and boob. "No." She snorted like the idea was ridiculous. "That's not what these kinds of phones are for." She unfolded her arms, fingers running over the home button cautiously. "I..." she stopped, lips pursed together as she tried to decide what to tell him.
Finally she settled on the truth.
"I'm using it to go to space."

Loke didn't ruffle at her cold tones--he'd have been more confused if she'd been open-armed to him. Her assumption was what rubbed him the wrong way however, the Chaos senshi feeling his hackles raise a bit as he approached. His eyes were sharp, narrowed and filled with his own judgmental calls on the woman with the two-toned eyes. “Joined cuz a Negaverse cat said I was a senshi, and the Queen of the Dark Mirror Court shoved me through a mirror before I could do jack s**t.” Loke didn't try to soften his voice, letting it lash out as he snapped back at her own icy demeanor.
“Don't mistake me for some of those who've crossed the mirror willin'ly.” Not that he felt it would have gone well if he'd objected. He didn't think the woman with the smoke wings would have taken the negative.
“What do you stand for?” He redirected the conversation back to her, relaxing his voice and posture to try and keep it clear he wasn't looking for fights--verbal or physical.
These kinds of phones? He'd been about to ask, but she at least made it clear they were of the magical origin--he was assuming--when she dropped a hell of a bombshell. Space? The man went quiet, recalling those... dreams of a future he wasn't keen on letting come to pass. “...ironic as ********. That's where the Court keeps hopin' to go. Get away from Earth and find peace in space.” Or that's what it wanted to do... would want to do... he wasn't sure any more. “What's it like out there? It so Eden like people crack it up to be?” A phone got them there? Ok so there was definitely more at work here than that, but it felt like a strange mockery to hear it worded as such.

Denebola pursed her pink lips together, eyeing him skeptically when he told her that his hand had been forced. It's not that she didn't believe him, but she'd been given the impression that most of the Dark Mirrors had crossed willingly.
"Do you want out then?" It was a carefully asked question and she asked him with a softened expression. She knew that there were ways out, even if she didn't understand the mechanics yet. "As for what I stand for, well I suppose I stand for life," she answered with a shrug. "I stand to give us," she gestured between them, then to the surrounding area, a broad generalization, "a chance."
The corners of her lips twitched upward in a smirk. "Remarque seemed fascinate when he ventured with me. It was like he'd seen everything he'd ever wanted, but our views differ. It's a wasteland, unique to each star, moon, planet. I wouldn't call it Eden." Every time she stepped foot onto the platform on Denebola her heart splintered a little more. Yet, she kept returning because the glimpses of a life that was but wasn't hers was too tempting to resist.
"I could show you."

Out? He'd... heard such a thing was possible, though how... he hadn't a clue. For a while, Loke was silent, looking away to look over the city around them. "I'd... be willing to hear how it's done," he finally stated, rolling his shoulders as he tried to fight back the stiffness that came as his body bristled. "I'm... I've heard people lose their families when they... corrupt, purify, whatever you call it. Call me a bleeding heart, but I'm not too fond of the idea of making my mom think her kid's dead."
That was a crux he wasn't sure how to handle. If he left... would he really have to make his parents think he was gone for good?
"It at least sounds like we're on a similar ground." At this point? He had a much bigger bone to pick with the Negaverse than Order. The court had more important s**t to deal with, this war wasn't one he saw himself as part of. Just drawn into, and trying to figure a freaking way to keep it away from his home.
Oh? Loke's eyes widened in a bit of surprise and intrigue. She knew Remarque? Well that made things a bit easier. Though her evaluation made him... frown. "A wasteland?" Loke paused, considering that. Was that what they were working towards? Barren lands that couldn't do jackshit for them..? "Any way to revitalize them?" Hey, he'd heard of processes used in parts of Earth to make farming possible in otherwise horrible soil conditions and the like...
Denebola's offer made him lift his head. Another surprise for the evening. "I'm saying yes in a heartbeat," he laughed, head tilting as he watched her. "That a serious offer?" He was half expecting a trap or some s**t. But if she'd really taken Rem...

"There's ways out, I can point you to the right people."
Eventually, but she knew how to find connections and if he wanted out, then she'd get him the information. "There's always a consequence to the decisions you make, I don't know what they are. I don't have enough information but," she paused, worrying her lip, "memory loss is probably a side effect, because you'd need glamour to protect yourself." He couldn't be the same person, it wouldn't make sense logically because then the people he loved would be at risk if anyone had known his identity.
She supposed it would depend on Loke if he thought the risk was worth it.
If she was in his position, she probably wouldn't want to give up her family their, the Dark Mirrors didn't appear to be as corrupted as the Negaverse.
But looks could be deceiving.
"I don't know if revitalizing is possible. I haven't been there enough to give you a proper answer," she admitted, tamping the small swell of embarrassment that threatened to tinge her cheeks. "But yeah, I'm being serious. This is a serious offer. You coming or not?"
She extended her hand to him, swallowing hard as she did so while still managing to give him a hurry up look.

He wasn't sold. Wasn't sure if he could be. His mind drifted to Andronicus, to Varuna... to his lack of choice in this ******** war. Was it enough to make him leave his family? Hell if he knew. A lot of him wanted to just ignore it. Walk away from the needless stress. But if he did, did that risk his family getting dragged into more bullshit?
"Connect me to whoever they are... and I'll ask my questions," he finally nodded. It ate at him that he'd even consider it. But he had to know. Had to know what the answers would be. Was it worth it..? "...thanks for this." It'd be nice if the glamour only changed against those that were, oh I dunno, a threat to him. But arguing with her about it, or pointing out the fallacies in it all, was pointless.
There were other priorities to deal with for now. "Well. If you ever need someone to keep going back with you to try and discover that answer, never against lending a hand," he stated oh so matter of factly as he smothered his own increasing pulse. Space. ********... space. ******** she was serious. This was a serious offer. Slowly he nodded his head, pale eyes flickering down to her offered hand before he moved forward to close the distance. He could travel through mirrors, speak through them to other Dark Mirror Senshi. She could go into space. There'd be one thing he could gain, he guessed. But was it worth losing his family?
Choices for a later time, he placed his hand to hers and figured he could at least use this time to try and just... figure out how to help the damn court.

"Well, let me make sure my contacts are still right so that I don't give you wrong information." Denebola stated, brow furrowing as she thought about the people she had met that could help. It'd been a while since she reached out and suddenly, now that someone was so willing to take her offer, she worried about who might not be around anymore.
The city had a tendency to dispose or scare off good people.
"Well, maybe I'll take you up on that offer, if you don't get scared away from this visit," she replied, fingers closing around his. "Hold on tight, I don't know could happen if you don't." She'd only take a few people and it'd been mostly planned, she didn't want to risk his life, not if he was thinking of discarding chaos.
Her attention shifted to the phone tightly grasped in her other hand, finger hovering over the home button when she focused on the melody that surged through her-- the one only she could hear, Denebola's song calling her home.
She hit the button and they were gone.Kaefaux I will start the new one shortly~
