Benji just could not understand WHY it was necessary for him to have been in the hospital for so goddamn long. It was Just his eye. Yeah, it hurt like hell but he could still see. Everything was a weird color out the one eye, and it was a bit trippy, but he could STILL SEE. He didn't need all those tests and examinations. Okay, so maybe he DID have one hell of a concussion, but geesh, this was over kill. What about school?! Did those doctors not care about his education? Probably not since each day he was still there the hospital got more and more money from him.

When he finally WAS released his parents had him down on lock and key. No leaving the house after 7, no more taking the bus to school they were going to drop him off and pick him right up. No more subway, no more fights because it was so obvious this time around he was entirely wrecked, not just scuffed. And all those regulations had Chara pissed off more than normal, trapped in his room among his flowers and other plants, and sadly because of that he couldn't vent. His poor, sweet, innocents flora did not deserve such a violent outburst.

So instead.. It was just boredom. There was nothing interesting going on from what he could tell. This room had been examined from the top to the bottom multiple times and nothing ever changed. Except this time his eyes rested on his phone that he found in his Senshi Uniform pocket. Who knew those bloody pants had pockets in the first place. From that, the incident came back to his mind again causing the ever present scowl to return. "<******** those guys! ******** that general who went and jacked up his eye! ******** that ******** train monster piece of s**t! And ******** the Negaverse!" Benji grabbed a pillow off the bed and prepared to launch it towards that dumb phone when a thought of a lovely young woman came to mind. If he remembered correctly, she had stayed with him for some time after he was beaten down. An angel had literally came down to take care of such a little s**t as himself that day, atleast that's what he told his parents.

Curiosity came and hit him hard with a spiked bat. Benji wanted to know what exactly happened after they left.. Did they clean up all the gunk? He knew that the station was still closed, at the very least. And, hell, he wanted to see that pretty lady again, he wouldn't even lie. The pillow was dropped in favor of picking up the offending phone and seeing if he could find her number.. Subamara was her name, right? Gigi.. It would be safer to contact as a powered person though, especially with how late it would be when he arrived to wherever he was headed.

Hey, it's Chara. I'm okay, finally of the ******** hospital. Everything's good, just that my parents like to exaggerate how bad everything would be. I'm getting a bad feeling about the station, and am going to check it out. If you'd want to come with, I could use the backup. And I'd like to thank you for your help too. I'll be there in about an hour.

Yeah, a whole hour. Being on lock down also meant no wallet. So yay! He was hoofing it to the blocked off train station. And an hour might not be enough time to get there, even powered. He would see. The window, luckily, wasn't bolted down like everything else. It WAS connected to the fire escape, after all, and it would be against 'regulations' to have it closed off. In a split second he powered up into Chara, and bounded out the window, as quietly as his clackity clack clack heels would let him on to the fire escapes, then headed to the station.

Took me forever, but I DID IT! And I tag much faster than I start... Hopefully. xD

It was already quite late by the time Gigi left the university library and picked up a terrible coffee at the late-night kiosk. It was easier to stay out late than to go home. Home had become strange, with her mother fluttering about so worried-happy, trying to do things for her, take care of her, make everything ‘better’. Gigi hadn’t really talked to her dad yet. She was dreading the look on his face. And even if she did go home, it wasn’t worth trying to sleep, her nightmares were just that much worse after the subway attack. Eventually she’d drop down on the couch or maybe her bed and just pass out, but that was okay. She’d never been much for sleeping. There were always so many things to do.

A slow awareness crept up on her as she downed her bitter drink, a little nagging sound that wasn’t really a sound. Someone was sending her a message? Her senshi contacts were few and far between - in an emergency, she was hardly the first person anyone should be calling.

Gigi ducked down the nearest side street, out of the lights, and set the empty paper cup down on the gutter as she powered up and pulled out her phone. Her eyes widened as she read and re-read the message. She remembered Chara vividly, his bravery, his determination, the damage he’d taken in the fight. She’d been pretty sure he was concussed or something by the time the paramedics reached them, but still, it seemed like a long time for him to be in hospital. Her own bruising was down to faded yellow patches. But if he had a ‘bad feeling’, then she was so there. She wasn’t sure how long the message had been waiting for her before she twigged. Chara could be there already, and he hadn’t seemed like the type who would wait for back-up before going in.

'On my way', she texted back quickly.

Binning the cardboard cup, she took off with long bounding strides, building momentum, and made the leap up onto a dumpster, a fire escape, a rooftop. The wind rushed around her as she jumped and ran, cold and crisp, chasing off the last tired thoughts that the caffeine hadn’t cleared.

Eventually, she dropped down from the rooftops a block away from the subway entrance, a quiet landing and cautious movements as she scanned about for Chara. No chaos auras lingered, no trace of the youma that had taken over the tracks below, but that didn’t stop her feeling uneasy. She walked a little closer, quick sharp steps, hard to keep truly quiet on the pavement. Here was where the ambulance had waited for them, and police cars over there. She’d travelled from this station so many times, but now she could barely recognise it without the flashing lights and sirens, the stench of the youma stomach acids eating away at the station tiles.

She summoned her phone again, holding it loosely in one hand in case another message came through. Her other hand, though, had lifted unconsciously to press against the ruffles hanging from her collar, the centre of her chest.

“I’m here?” she called softly. Hopefully she wasn’t too late.

Maybe he underestimated how powerful the whole 'senshi run' thing was since it took way less time than he thought to get to the abandoned platform. Well, not entirely abandoned, but just closed. the routine emergency lights were still on and made the entire area a weird sickly looking pale color. It was ******** creepy and it made sense given exactly what went down here.

Chara's gaze went all about him, from the entrance that was entirely dark, to the lights overhead that provided a direct path to it. He swore he couldn't even hear a cricket chirping. Maybe the whole aura or what not of this place was just so jacked up that nature just knew to leave it be. Sadly humans weren't that smart. This place was STILL worth money and still a convenience once it opened back up again. Humans were intrepid creatures at time. He should know, he was one of them!

Soon enough he felt the warm embrace of an Order Aura'ed person that stood out quite heavily from the doom and gloom around him. He saw her rather quickly and, to his surprise, he actually relaxed his ever present scowl into a smile.

"You came, I'm glad. Are you doing alright?" Chara was about 89% certain that he'd be fussed over by such a lovely angel of a woman but he truly was concerned for her. Sure, his face was beaten in and the bandages were still covering some of his face, and there was a pretty evident bruise that crept about it, but other than than he was peachy keen.

LokisRose
It was lovely! Thank you!

Sailor Subamara drew a quiet breath of relief as she sensed the other aura, similar in strength to her own, and heard Chara’s voice calling to her. It was amazing how much creepiness could be dispersed by just one friendly voice. Thank goodness it seemed he hadn’t got impatient waiting for her and gone off exploring alone.

She smiled back, but it quickly turned to a little worried gasp when she got close enough to see the bandages still gracing the other senshi’s poor face. Clean of the youma gunk, his bruising stood out. They’d really beaten him badly.

“Me? Yes, I’m doing okay,” she said, touched that he’d thought to worry about her. Hers were mostly incidental bruises from standing in the wrong place. Which was everywhere, with a youma that big. She hadn’t really been targeted by agents , at least not the same way he had.

“But what about you? You said you just got out of hospital? Should... is it okay for you to be powering up?”

She lifted her hand to gesture at the bandages. She didn’t mean to mother, but it seemed like a terrible idea to go out patrolling injured. Not that she was an expert. Not that she patrolled much at all. But even a small youma could do a lot of damage if you weren’t ready for it, and strong as Chara seemed, the thought that something might make those bandages a target was more than a little worrying. But if it was an emergency? The last thing she wanted was to see him more hurt.

"Naw, I really shouldn't be up. Doctors said something about a concussion and permanent eye damage but, whatever. Nothing good came from laying in bed all day. And my parents have been smothering me like you don't even know. So Fresh air was more than needed." A bashful hand made it's way up to his hair as he ran it through. He knew it, she did worry for him. And damn did it feel great!

"I'll be fine until I'm not. That's how this world is right? Atleast, that's what I'm assuming. And I have you by my side tonight, and we were awesome together, so We should be good." His gaze turned from Subamara to the entrance of the Subway. So much s**t went down there that it was hard to believe that they didn't just cave the whole place in. Good for them though.. They could still make it down there.

"I came cuz I had a feeling, you know? With that much negative energy down there, the must be some remnants that linger around. We should take care of them, before they spread."

“P-permanent?!” Subamara repeated, eyes widening in even greater concern. Hopefully he was exaggerating, she thought. Surely he was exaggerating! But the concussion had been real enough, and the bandages.

But he kept talking, telling her it was fine, and right there was why the young Senshi of Chocolate was already a better senshi than she had ever been. She’d been battered, frightened, so she’d what? Hid in her room for days and only come out because classes didn’t attend themselves. She needed to pull her socks up if she wanted to help save the world.

His words were too sweet, and she took more encouragement from them than she maybe should. She didn’t want to disappoint him. He was awesome, she was a pretender, just barely hanging on. No, that wasn’t right. She was support. And she could sure as hell support Chara, even if it was by dragging him back to the hospital again. It wouldn’t hurt to take a look around, and far better they did it together than letting the injured boy go in alone.

“Right, yes. Good plan,” she nodded, pulling herself together and smiling at him, before turning to examine the subway entrance too. “But let’s go carefully, okay? It might not be very stable.”

"Yup, Permanent! It's kinda gnarly, really! It's like, blood stained the lens or something and it's all black and red and gross, but the doctors said I'll still be able to see, mostly anyway. I just keep imagining it'll be like wearing those old fashioned 3-D glasses all the time, cept with only a red lens." Chara's hands came up to form little fake glasses before his eyes and turned to grin at Subamara. This place was scary as hell and he knew that if he were alone, he'd 'nope!' right out of there. But he had to come here and he had to see Subamara. She was safe and that was what mattered!

He really couldn't just leave though, that would make him a liar about wanting to see what was down there, and ruin his whole cover to see the lovely coffee senshi. Careful not to miss a step due to altered depth perception Chara clung to the handrail and made his way into the station, frowning when he realized that it was becoming darker.

"I guess the lights were only on upstairs.. It looks like it will be pitch black inside. Do you think it's still a good idea to keep going? I don't have any flashlights or glowsticks or any other s**t on me.."

The mimed glasses brought a little nervous giggle to Subamara’s lips. Chara sounded almost proud. He was making light of his injury, but it really didn’t sound minor to her. It could have been so much worse, she knew, but eye damage was nothing to joke about. He needed those!

“There are senshi with healing powers, maybe you could find someone to help you magically?” she suggested. But no names sprang to mind, and she wasn’t sure if that was something she’d read about in the Primer, or something remembered from the darkened dream future. She knew there had been healers, but she didn’t know who they were, or if they even existed now. But they could ask around.

She followed Chara down the steps, relieved he was going slow and using the rail. The blackness was oppressive, as if it remembered the crush of commuters trying to get out, the phantom whistle of the youma train. She wasn’t so much scared of whatever youma the subway might cough up now - it was empty of civilians, a less serious target. But she was deeply worried about her companion and his unconcern about his own safety. Even if investigation was the right thing to do, she would never forgive herself if Chara got himself hurt.

“Honestly?” Subamara paused in the darkness. She didn’t think it was a good idea at all. She couldn’t sense any auras… but chaos could teleport, come out of no-where. “I don’t have a light either,” she said.

She bit her lip, looking for an option that would satisfy Chara’s sense of duty without letting him put himself in further danger.

“Would it be enough to keep an eye on the entrance? If something’s going to come out, it will probably come out there, and we can jump it straight away. Or if we sense an aura we could head down then?"

"That's a great idea, but naw.. I kinda like it. I mean, it's not hurting anything, it's just an aesthetic thing, so I've been told, so.. Yeah, Maybe I'll keep it as a cool badge of honor, pretty much saying '******** yeah, I went up against a Leader of the Negaverse and lived'. Sounds too cool to pass up."

Subamara was just as cautious as he expected her to be. Not that it was a bad thing! Hell, he really needed someone to look after him a bit better than how he looked over himself. Before he knew it he'd probably be at the hands of some Negaverse agent again due to his own stupidity rather than anything more serious. Damn Miss Subamara was far too sweet to him. And he loved every moment of it.

"Yeah.. Yeah, okay, that works great. It'll feel us at the same time we'll feel it, if anything comes up. It'll be drawn to us, right? So.. Yeah, okay." That was one way to do it, and that way they wouldn't lose sight of the beast or one another. Then, However.. That left time for an overly awkward silence, and Chara was having none of that.

"So.. While we wait here for a while.. Could you tell me more about this whole senshi thing? Honestly, I got powered up by some cry-baby cat and have not had much information given to be beyond "Kill before you're killed".."

LokisRose
PostPosted: Tue Jan 12, 2016 5:56 am

Subamara smiled in the darkness, relaxing a little. He seemed pretty enamoured of his war wound, so if he really believed it wasn’t going to do any lasting harm to his sight, she would let it go. It could have been so much worse. “It does sound pretty cool when you tell it like that,” she admitted.

Hopefully, hopefully Chara didn’t catch her sigh of relief when he agreed not to go deeper into what was left of the subway. “Yes, they should sense our auras,” she said, nodding. There could be anything down there still, and they were just a pair of basic scouts, and her magic was largely decorative. She scanned the area again as the conversation lapsed, waiting for any hint of a dark aura to ping her senses. Chara’s request caught her off-guard. Up until that very moment she’d assumed he had a pretty solid handle on the whole senshi deal, despite his youth.

“A cat told you that?” she asked, feeling a shiver run down her back. Which cat, she wondered. When she found out, they were getting no treats from her ever. They started out with so little information. She still remembered how many questions she’d had for Athene, and how much his help had meant to her. She could definitely pass on as much as she knew.

“I mean, of course! I’m… not the best person to ask, I’m not an expert, but I’ll absolutely tell you everything I know! Obviously you got the ‘war’ bit. But, we don’t have to kill them. I mean, it’s not the only option. Sometimes they can be purified, where they get rid of the chaos in their starseeds. But I heard it’s hard to do. Our job is to stop them from hurting and killing people. And stay alive ourselves, obviously.”

She remembered the magic he’d thrown at the youma train, some kind of chocolate bombs. “You’re ahead of the game, you have offensive magic. You can hurt them. You can save people!”

She trailed off, unsure where to even really begin beyond that. She was probably telling him stuff he already knew. “What sorts of things did you want to know about?”

"Yeah.. She was all upset because I was kinda mad at my uniform. And then she started crying and was all 'You're on you own! With your attitude, no one's going to want to help you! You'll die right out the gate!' Blah Blah Blah. Honestly, I don't even care. I've done well so far even without her." He lied when he said he it didn't him. It bothered the HELL out of him. But he was tough! He wouldn't whine about it to much... To other people that is.

"Ahead of the game, huh? I don't know too much about that.. I don't really like my powers. It's more shock-factor, you know? I am much more likely to go over and grab something like a trashcan lid or a broken bottle to fight with than my powers. They are only good for startling people. Yours though... It can actually help a team! Though, really, I just want to know more about this war. What's causing it? Who's on who's team? Who's the leader of the good guys?"

LokisRose
PostPosted: Fri Feb 05, 2016 6:46 am

“That’s awful!” said Subamara, though she had to wonder what exactly Chara had said to the cat to get that reaction. His uniform wasn’t that bad - actually, she thought it was pretty cute, though that probably wasn’t what an angry teenage boy wanted to be told. But suddenly Senshidom was a shock for anyone. The cat had no excuse.

“I wonder if anyone has a real attack? Everyone I’ve talked to doesn’t like their magic.” Not that she had a huge sample size, but how were they supposed fight a war with coffee and chocolate? She shrugged. “Yours looked pretty effective from where I was standing.”

Chara was asking the big important questions, and not ones she’d put a whole lot of thought into. She only powered up because people were in danger, because random bystanders were getting floored by bits of train. ‘The War’ was too big and frightening to look into.

“Okay. Well.” She gathered her thoughts and focused on the answers she was sure of. “So as far as I know, Senshi and Knights are Team Order, the good guys. And the Negaverse is Team Bad Guys. They have Senshi with them too, the ones in black. And then there are Dark Mirror Senshi, who are different again. They seem to be on their own team entirely. They were working with the Negaverse once, but apparently they broke up. Sometimes they’ve been helpful, but not everyone on our side trusts them. I guess they’re Team Neutral?”

“I… don’t think we have a leader. We never really have, and that’s one of the problems. I think there was supposed to be a Moon Queen, but as far as I know, she never showed up. There are princesses, and I think a prince, but when one princess tried to hold a meeting and get organised, everyone just argued.”

And then the Fire Nation Negaverse attacked. Subamara bit her lip. That meeting had been ambushed, the biggest bloodbath she’d seen, though she’d hid through most of it. She couldn’t have been much older than Chara back then.

“There’s an intro document you can get on your phone, did you find that?” she changed the subject with artificial brightness.

"Oh, I don't mind my whole power thing. That's pretty cool. I just freaked out about the outfit. It doesn't look all that good for fighting to me. So.. I freaked pretty bad." Chara sheepishly scratched the back of his head. Yeah... Maybe he did over react just a tiny bit but.. Eh.

Despite hating long winded explanations, the young man did listen to what Subamara was saying, taking it all in. Yeah.. Her knowledge was pretty much way over what he knew. He just seemed to know that those in black were the ones who he had to fight.

"Yeah, I can see that happening. A bunch of powerful people all gathered together and talking over one another. It already smells like it sucks."

"Wait, wait, there's a what?" Dug deep into the pockets of his shorts and pulled out the brick that had been sitting in it since he had awakened. He never bothered with it since he never really had many people to talk to before he met Subamara. He clicked around a bit, and sure enough, there it was. Informatin. Who knew?

"Well I'll be damned... I'll have to sit down and read this all sometime. You see, yeah, I wouldn't have ever figured this out. Thank you."

Oh, the uniforms! Subamara didn’t know why the senshi battle gear was what it was, but she could imagine it would be a bit of a surprise, if you hadn’t seen other ‘terrorists’ wearing it before.

“You have pants,” she pointed out, brushing her hand over her skirt in demonstration of the ways it could be worse. She’d seen enough fuku in action to know how lucky Chara was, even if he didn’t. She liked her own uniform, but practical for battle it was not.

A brighter smile crossed her face when it became clear he hadn’t been told about the Primer. She didn’t know if it would answer all his questions, but it would definitely be clearer than any explanations she could give. Fortunately, he didn’t seem to mind her babbling so far.

“It’s no problem! There’s so much we don’t get told going in.”

They depended so much on the cats to explain things, she thought, but at the end of the day, they were cats. It was hardly a surprise if they got weird or wandered off.

She leaned over Chara’s shoulder to watch as he located the Primer. “It’s kind of long, but it’s in sections, so you can skip around.”

"Yeah, I think these are pants anyway, or atleast super puffy underpants. Still, more cushion for when I get knocked on my a** again, anyway, so I guess that's a plus. But seriously, you are amazing and a godsend. Much better than any ol' fleabag. How come you can't do the whole teaching thing instead?" She very much had a point though. Imagine if whoever created this uniform was thinking it'd only ever be people who liked wearing dresses.. He'd probably would have wanted to fight THEM. Heck, he still kinda DID want to fight them!

After all their trudging around and small talk there really didn't seem to be much going on. Heck, most of the time he just kept flipping through the primer curiously. At this point in time, he kinda just wanted to sit down and read it all. Maybe the next time he got in such a kerfuffle as the whole train thing, he'd be better prepared.

"Hey, 'Mara, I think there isn't anything here anymore.. But I'm glad we checked, how 'bout you?"

LokisRose
xD Sorry for mine too! We should wrap up, and if we're both back on the horse again, we should have them meet again!
