A tweet had been sent out earlier to inform the other Uni hunters that were at the Victoria base that Harper was back in Canada to pay them all a little visit. There were plans for a campfire, roasting marshmallows, and the possibility for s'mores if Caroline had managed to get her hands on chocolate and graham crackers.
"Hey, I was right," he called cheerfully over his shoulder as he poked his head out of his cabin door. "It actually stopped raining." He'd hoped, and the weather looked like it was finally going to cut them some slack, but he hadn't actually expected the reprieve. It made him grin as he slipped back inside to grab the blankets folded on the old chair by the desk. "I bet that means Cecil had an easier time getting a fire going."
Liam waited just outside for Harper to join him, then rather shyly brushed his free hand against her's before tentatively lacing his fingers with her's.
Then he was leading the way past the cluster of cabins and through the forest of tents, headed towards the promising flicker of a what looked to be merrily crackling fire. "Cecil!"

It had been a long while since Cecil had been camping. A long long while but the knowledge of how to start a fire properly still lingered in his subconscious somewhere he was sure of it, it was just a matter of dredging it up and battling with the rain. He was mostly drenched from trying to gather wood and keep it dry, his boots and the bottoms of his pants caked in mud but over all he figured if he could accomplish what he wanted and got a fire set up for everyone it would be worth it. Hopefully he didn't catch a cold in the attempt.
When the rain finally eased up Cecil was fast at work getting the wood together and placing a bit of filament at the base. It took a few attempts and with the wood still damp it was hard to catch alight and when it did it was slow to spread. Cecil was worried it would go out before it got far but thankfully the fire slowly grew into something larger and he kept feeding wood into it until it was sizable. It wasn't quite a bonfire but it was a bit larger than the average campfire and the heat it gave off was welcoming to his cold damp skin. With any luck it would dry out his clothes.
He was moving a few of the bigger logs around with a stick when he heard Liam call out to him and he rose his hand, greeting the pair with a smile. "Hey, over here!"

Harper took a minute pulling her scarf around her neck before heading out the door behind Liam, her coat still a little damp from earlier. Even though the rain had finally stopped like he said it would it was still a little chilly outside in the cool air. It was the perfect weather to sit around a fire, and snuggling close to others underneath a blanket. The marshmallows were still dry, a little smooshed but dry and in her pocket ready to be roasted over a fire, or likely burned in her case.
“I haven’t been to a campfire in ages.” A grin was on her face as Liam took her hand, lacing his fingers between hers before heading to where they were meeting the others. The ground was still damp, some of it muddy as she sort wondered if they would be able to start any of the damp wood.
Cecil was already there, and Harper eagerly waved to him before squeezing Liam’s hand, as if to reassure him that she would return soon. "Cecil! Thank you for making a fire." Making her way over to him she gave the too tall of man a brief hug, letting him know she was glad to see him alive and well before returning to Liam’s side. Pulling the marshmallow’s out of her pocket she held them up before sitting them down on one of the large logs and lacing the familiar fingers around her own again.
“Sorry I couldn't bring more. Do we need any more wood for the fire or sticks for the marshmallows?”

"I don't think I have either," he admitted with a grin. Fires for warm, sure, but not a fire that existed for the sole purpose of company and junk food. It seemed like it had been a very long time since he'd done anything like that. That he could remember.
As Cecil hailed them Liam lifted his free hand in greeting before Harper was slipping away from his side to offer the big man a hug. Hanging back for just a moment before stepping forward to clap him on a broad shoulder fondly. "I brought extra blankets, just in case." The armload was settled on the nearest log. "How'd it go getting the fire started? It looks great." Warm and toasty, if it had been hard to start, it seemed pretty strong now.

Upon seeing Harper Cecil's smile widened, rising to his feet and holding out his arms for the girl as she came in for a hug. "Hey, Harper. It's good to see you." He wrapped her up in a firm embrace before releasing her so that she could retreat back to Liam's side. "Nice coat by the way." She looked very official with the emblem on the back. "It's suits you."
Liam was at his side as soon as Harper was gone and Cecil smiled just as brightly reaching out an arm to wrap over the smaller man's shoulders and pull him into a half hug. "The blankets are greatly appreciated. We might need them though I tried to gather a bit of wood to keep the fire going." He pointed off to the side where he had a pile of wood stacked, the flap of his tent having been used to shield at least most of the wood from the rain.
There was a small nervous laugh though when Liam asked about getting the fire started. "I used to go camping a lot when I lived with my parents but I've never dealt with so much rainfall. It was a new experience." And a challenging one at that.
Turning back to the fire and letting his arm slip away from Liam, Cecil contemplated adding more wood though it seemed to be going well enough. "That's alright, Harper, I don't know how many will come. The rain may have stopped but its still pretty wet out here. We could always use sticks for the marshmallows though." He had gathered some and they were sitting neatly against a log but he had yet to do anything with them to clean them up.

“Thank you Cecil,” Harper twirled around for a moment letting them both see the entire design again. “I am in the Sun Division at the island as well I get to carry some sort of special bonded weapon with me.” It was more complex than that but she didn’t want to waste time in explaining ever boring detail about it.
“In which by the way is the coolest thing I have ever seen.” For a moment she had completely forgotten that she had taken him with her, mostly because she usually wore it all the time and for once he wasn’t constantly on her case about things. Pulling the scarf down she pointed to the long cuff chain earring hanging down. “His name is Eerikki.”
With a grin she left off any other explanation as she got sidetracked with the sticks Cecil had pointed out to use for the marshmallows. Harper walked over to them picking one up as she for only a quick moment thought of shaving the outer edge with her weapon, and then quickly tossed the idea considering was Eerikki would double her training for misuse. “They will be perfect. Thank you again for getting this all ready Cecil.” It was obvious he had put a lot of time and effort in arranging everything, more so than she had in just bringing something.
“You doing ok here at the base as well?”

Hitsu had heard about the plan of gathering from Cecil, because if left to gaining all of her information through Twitter it would be highly likely that the invitation could have gone weeks if not months without her realizing it had been there. She rarely checked those sorts of things, even when she kept telling herself she'd try to keep up with it. If it was one of the prime means of communication, she supposed she would have to, especially once more of the people she knew from the University were transferred out of Victoria.
She had decided on a tent for herself, after shared news that the cabins' state of disrepair was more like death wish, and she really didn't want to find out how lucky (or unlucky) she could be as far as that went.
Unsure if she could actually consider herself late, since Harper and Liam were the only two who had arrived so far, Hitsu offered no apologies of the sort but smiled wide to the trio gathered as she approached. "Hey there!"

"I wasn't sure if you were going to be able to get it going, with it being so wet, but you worked some magic." He grinned up at Cecil, patting the tall man on the back before he withdrew his arm. Between the blankets and the fire they'd be warm and toasty.
Dark eyes twitched easily to Harper as she drew down the scarf to show off the earring, and a brow rose curiously at the way she'd phrased that. Bonded? It rose more questions than answered, but there was plenty of time for that, and Hitsu was wandering up to the small group, so Liam made a mental note to ask Harper about what she'd meant later. How was an earring a weapon?
Later.
"Hey Hitsu, glad you could make it." He hadn't seen much of her since they'd found themselves at Victoria. Everyone had been busy settling in, Liam even more so getting his cabin in proper living condition with Caroline's help.
He grabbed the blanket off the top of the stack before taking a seat on one of the larger logs.

Smiling at Liam's complement Cecil shrugged. "Maybe a little less magic and a little more stubborn determination." He had certainly fought to get in started in this wet environment but at least with it going it shouldn't be hard to maintain. "I just hope it doesn't decide to downpour. I think the fire can survive a little bit of rain but the weather is a unpredictable at times." He looked skyward at that but it looked no different than any other day. Cloudy and overcast.
Cecil's expression turned curious as Harper began to explain her new circumstances. The division name made sense considering the coat design but the weapon part was a little over his head. "Bonded?" He let that sink in as well as the name but didn't get a chance to ask much else as Hitsu arrived.
"Hey there," He motioned Hitsu closer to the fire to get warm. "Welcome to the party." It one could call it that but it was still nice to have others around to catch up and relax with.
