He was still getting used to this city, and finding places, but he was getting better at it. A month into living here and he was doing better and getting lost less, though he still needed the help of his phone and it's gps. The city transportation, trains and subways, weren't bad either. They were better than the one trip he'd taken for a weekend in Japan, his sister had wanted to go to some concert along with his cousin and he'd been tasked with accompanying them to keep track of both of them. Their public transport while on time, always, was confusing as hell as multiple companies owned the lines so it had made for an interesting weekend adventure. At least they'd seen the concert, enjoyed it, and he'd even enjoyed himself and the food wasn't bad either. He would admit he did like their sushi better than what he'd grown up with as sushi. The American kind was the same as in Japan actually, something he'd discovered a few days ago.

Today though he'd finally decided to find some anime and manga, he was hoping to see what might be popular around here to get ideas for a possible third cosplay costume he'd work on between now and when conventions started when the warmer weather started. He would work on the costumes during the fall and winter and have them done, hopefully, by spring. He knew he'd have to take pictures for his friend back home, she had already poked him on twitter about it.

One hand was in the pocket of the zipped up fleece he wore, it had a nice big high collar that covered his mouth. The other pocket, on the right side, was zipped up. One hand was raised as a finger tip skimmed over the titles of the manga, he was looking at the manga straight from japan rather than the ones written in English. He did plan to look at the English ones as well, and ask a worker what was popular, but he was looking to see if there was anything he wanted to read, anything which might catch his attention. He was planning to buy some English ones which he already owned in Japanese as it might make learning English a bit easier? Maybe, it was an idea.

Dark eyes, seemingly black in color, were rimmed in fine black eyeliner to give a more cat like appearance and show off just how narrow his eyes were. It also seemed to give him a bit more of a mischievous look when he smiled or smirked. Walking down the isle, finger still skimming titles, he plucked one from the shelf to look over, as he read over the back of it. Seemed interesting enough - into the basket it went. He had a small little basket hanging from his left arm, his hand buried into his pocket. The place he'd found was a mecca for anime and manga and all that came with it, from what he could tell anyway.

The fleece is like this: http://dtpmhvbsmffsz.cloudfront.net/posts/2015/06/11/5579a5e5dbda25290e00238e/m_557a3fc88599086c760007ed.jpg

Once again, Chizu found herself slipping back into the miraculous store that held any anime fan's hopes and dreams. She had found the store a little while back while on a walk with her brother and had instantly fallen in love with it. It had everything from Azumanga Daioh to Evangelion, both in English and Japanese. Admittedly, being from Japan originally, Chi tended to favor the Japanese prints over the English, having learned that many of the jokes do not translate over well.

Humming the theme to Evangelion, she made her way to the back of the store, straight for the Japanese section. She wore a pair of slightly torn jeans and some of her more beat up sneakers, along with a long sleeved shirt with the sleeves pushed up to her elbows. Her normal twin tail hairstyle was bound into two braids below the looped buns today, not having had the patience to deal with it earlier in the wind.

An extra bounce in her step, Chizu grinned to herself when she remembered this was the day they got a new shipment in. And of course, wrapped up in her own little world like she often was, she didn't notice the young man ahead of her until she walked face first into his shoulder.

"Oh crap! Crap I'm so sorry!" She bowed her head out of habit from Japanese custom and glanced up at him. And then of course, the next thought to pop into her head? Oh wow he's cute...

Not being very good with english, certainly not good enough to handle reading a full manga he was unfamiliar with, he was glad for the Japanese section here. Back home he could buy them in Korean but here it was English or the native language of manga - Japanese, which he was at least capable of reading and speaking. Writing as well though he did at times mess up a bit on the writing. Another manga got plucked from the shelf to have it's back read over by the male, dark eyes scanning it over as he pondered the idea of purchasing it or not. Romances could go either very well, and be a good manga, or go bad and be so sappy that he wanted to burn the book. The bad ones he used to give to his friend, but she was all the way back in Korea, so he could no longer do that. Was it worth the risk?

Startled out of his musings by someone bumping, or walking, right into hims he turned his dark eyes on them as he regained his balance as he had lost it for a moment. "Is ok." His accent was bad, noticeable, but he knew what he was saying. He was bowing his own head, out of habit as well, and waving a hand to her. "Is ok, are you ok?"

Chizu looked up at the boy through her bangs and smiled almost shyly at him. "Yeah, I'm okay." There was an accent in his voice that was similar to what she used to have when she first learned English and she wondered where he was from.

"U-um... I'm Chizu. Chizuru Akiyama." Again, the smile she gave him was on the shy side.

Taking note of the book in his hands, her head tilted to the side curiously. "You read Japanese? Do you speak it too?"

Sweeping his bangs from his face, one side was shaven short while the left side was long, he stared at the other for a moment before he introduced himself. "Seung Kim." Not knowing if she spoke Japanese, though her name certainly was Japanese in origin. it was best not to presume things in a country like this, filled with people from all over the place and descended from parents and grandparents who were immigrants. There was no telling if she came from there or who in her family did, so if she spoke Japanese or not was unknown.

Watching the smile on her face he let his attention drift to where she was looking than, the book he had. "Ah, yes. Better than English." A lot better. it wasn't his first language but he'd learned it since he was little and he had gotten some practice with it recently. "You?"

Chizuru nodded eagerly, switching to Japanese to speak with him instead. "Yes! I grew up in Japan actually. Born and raised! My family moved here fairly recently though."

She tilted her head to the side a little, admiring his hair. Or rather, admiring all of him. He was actually quite pretty, if she were allowed to call a boy that. "It's good to meet you, by the way. And good to meet someone who speaks the same language as I do! I only really get to speak Japanese with my family anymore. I don't know too many people here who are fluent in it."

So she was from japan herself, and spoke the language obviously, that helped him with speaking as he was far more comfortable with Japanese. he'd taken both Japanese and English in school but English hadn't been used much and it hadn't come so easily to him when learning it. Japanese was just easier for him, he suspected Chinese would be also if he ever decided to learn that language as well.

<"I grew up in Seoul but I learned Japanese in school."> Which explained the accent. He hadn't spoken it in a while either, though lately that was changing so it was getting better as he remembered it with ease.

<"It is good to meet you as well. I don't get to speak so easily with many people as many don't speak Japanese or Korean."> And his English needed work, a lot of it. This was easier for him, and more familiar, more comfortable. he really missed home at times like this, when he got to speak or listen to a language from that part of the world.

<"Looking for some manga? Or do you know what you're getting already?">
